Oliver

Oliver is a 10 year old Australian Silky Terrier in Sioux Falls, SD, who needs $500 for Emergency Dental/Tooth Extraction.

Sioux Falls, SD

In 2015 I was wanting to adopt a dog. I had lost my previous dog a year before and knew it was time to another. I tried to avoid breeders and happened to come across a puppy on a local news classified ad. He was the last of his accidental litter and the owner had marked his price down When I realized his birthday was the same as mine I knew was meant to be. He’s been with me ever since. In June of this year Oliver had to have an emergency dental done due to two abcessed teeth. He had just had a check up in April so we thought this was odd. Now we found out he cracked another tooth and needs another dental. Our vet fund was used for his dental and the other dogs yearly vetting needs. We are now in a tough spot and do not want Oliver suffering or in pain while we work to save the $ Oliver is the cop of the house. He is the smallest with the biggest personality. He loves everyone and isn’t afraid to stand up for himself. He is my constant companion and emotional support animal. He has supported our family through some major losses, 3 parents, family dog and a hospice foster dog. He is silly, playful and always up for a sniffle box or brain drain game or to cuddle with. After doing his dental just two months ago and the annual vetting for all 4 of our dogs our vetting fund was depleted. This was unexpected since he just had a dental. We aren’t sure if there is more going on causing his teeth to crack.

Gertrude

Gertrude is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Solon, OH, who needs $750 for Blood Panel with Ultrasound & Medications.

Solon

Gertrude was emaciated and starving, so desperate he came right up to my friend’s home. She called me, and I couldn't say no. We rushed him to a clinic to check for a chip and get him examined. They told us if he went to a shelter, he'd likely be put down because of his condition. I couldn't let that happen. I wanted to give him a chance to get better because he is so sweet-so he lives with me. We brought Gertrude to Solon Animal Hospital at only 5.6 lbs-so fragile for a 1-year-old. With care, he showed small signs of hope, but soon he grew weak again, stopped eating, barely moved, and began vomiting bile. I took him back, where his pale gums led the vet to run bloodwork showing possible immune mediated hemolytic anemia. His fecal tests also show hook worm and lung worm in his body. Even while so sick, Gertrude just wants love. He meows a lot - sometimes silently-just to be near us, rubbing his head against mine and purring, though less as he grows weaker. he is so sweet and gentle to any person who wants to be with him. I spend every moment I can with him, and it breaks my heart to see him fading, but I'll do everything possible to help this sweet angel. I couldn't put Gertrude down. My own cat has insurance, but Gertrude doesn't-and as a recent graduate, covering his care has been so hard. Still, I want to save him. He's fading right now, and I'm praying for help to give this sweet boy the chance he deserves.
