Hi, I'm Caroline and I have a small feral cat named Bitty Kitty. I've always been on time with her well-visit shots (you can see her "hiding"at the vet in pic #2). She has a serious sinus infection, maybe a fox tail, and I've called several vets, but they all recommended X-rays and rhinoscopy under anesthesia. Can you help my beloved Bitty Kitty? I've been told that she requires emergency care just in case its a fox tail. She's been breathing really loud and making weird sinus noises when she eats for 2 weeks and she's lost about 2lbs which she can't afford to lose. My cat is semi feral but if it rains she'll come in and sit on my bed. When I sit in the back yard she'll sit on my lap while I pet her. She's not too friendly with others, but she's a sweet baby and she's lived long past the estimated age of feral cat survival rates. I had 3 brain surgeries in the last 2 yrs and I have epilepsy. So, essentially I'm disabled. I can't imagine losing my baby bc I couldn't afford to get her treated. I would love it if Bitty Kitty could be healthy again. She makes my life so much better.

Nightfire was rescued during a winter storm 5 years ago in the wild wild west side of Buffalo, NY. He is a FIV+ and loves to give kisses! He is an orange tabby and really needs your help! Nightfire had a scare today that he is still battling and we are terrified. We went to 2 emergency vet hospitals close to home but didn’t get any help due to no neurologist present. We just drove 3 hours to another emergency vet in Cornell and he is currently getting evaluated. He is having something happen in his eyes that hasn’t gone away called nystagmus and it makes his eyes move around alot:( We would do anything for nightfire. He is the world to us and life wouldn’t be the same if we couldn’t help him due to financial concerns. He loves his Mary who is at home all alone worried on the house camera looking for him for hours:( HELP NIGHTFIRE HOME! I just started a new job recently and money is just starting to come in but won’t be paid again until next week. We are both in school full time to further our nursing careers and unable to work any extra hours.

Truman

Truman is a 10 year old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $1,185 for Life Saving Eye Removal Surgery.

Truman came into our Sanctuary in early August of 2017 at 22 months of age. Already showing signs of advanced Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), we knew that this boy needed to be in special care and took him into the Sanctuary as quickly as we could. There isn’t much we can do to reverse the effects of PRA, as it’s a genetic disorder. It hits most dog breeds in mid-age, but for greyhounds, it appears sometime around the age of one. PRA destroys the retina and night vision is the first to be lost, with total blindness coming within a year or two. As Truman aged, he developed cataracts in both eyes. While removing the cataracts won't restore his vision, we needed to perform eye pressure tests regularly to make sure that the cataracts are not leading to glaucoma or uveitis. Truman’s eye pressures were normal for over 2 years but suddenly, the cataracts started to shift (luxation) and cause deep spikes in pressure, first very low, then very high. Medications proved to be ineffective and his pain levels were rising. We needed to provide Truman with life saving enucleation and remove both eyes before his pain became intolerable. Truman is healing from his surgery and getting a bit stronger every day. Truman is truly a special guy, as sweet as can be, a true Velcro dog and wonderful companion. He’s found his courage to explore, to love and to be loved. Every day brings smiles as Truman adjusts to his medical condition and thrives. He even helps the new hounds adjust to life at the Sanctuary. The MRLT vision sciences lab at the University of California – Davis conducted a genetic study of Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in Greyhounds. Truman developed PRA but neither of his littermates, Tootie and Taffy, has the disease. Truman and his sisters, along with other greyhounds, provided valuable data for this study and led to the discovery of the gene responsible for PRA! Can you help this sweet boy that helps so many? As a registered, nonprofit animal rescue, we rely on donations to pay for the medical bills of the special needs animals in our care. We got Alex five years ago from a shelter. He is playful and loves treats from the dollar store. He got attacked by a coyote a few days ago. We are trying to do whatever is possible to save him. He has a surgery and is recovering but needs 24 hour care. Alex was taken to LAASER it was the place closest to us and took and emergency at 5 am. We couldn’t afford the surgery there so we took Alex at Kinder4Rescue. Sadly we got a call that Alex needed to be boarded to a 24 hours care so no place wanted to take Alex. LAASER took Alex back after his surgery. Alex has been there since Saturday morning but we can’t afford it anymore. Alex is playful and loves to play with any small object but toys. He loves rolling on the floor since he knows he will get a treat. He sleeps all day and is awake all night. He waits for my daughter at the door when she gets home from school. We love Alex and we want him back home. This was unexpected. We applied for credit cards at the veterinary already and use all the credit cards we have. We love Alex he is the one who makes most noise in the house he is the baby the one who keep us together.

He was 11 months old when we adopted him and he has moved with us from North Carolina to Alaska and now to Kansas. Mav is our 15-year-old’s emotional support and he is an energetic goofball who loves playing with his shiz-tu and black cat and orange cat brothers. Mav is our 15-year-old daughter’s emotional support and steady companion through military life. He has a cyst on each back paw that needs removal to prevent pain and future complications. I live with my owner's daughter for now as my owner has cancer. I live with a few cats and another dog named Boo! I've been with her family since I was only a couple of months old. A few days ago, I started limping badly. The vet found I had a ruptured CCL in my back leg and I need TPLO surgery to walk normally again. But at the vet, X-rays revealed something unexpected — severe bladder stones. They were nearly blocking my bladder completely. It was an emergency, and I was rushed to get surgery. However, this drained my guardian's savings. But I still need the leg surgery! My name is Nilla, and I’m a 6-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a serious case of the wiggles. I bark at everything (sorry, not sorry), love chasing squirrels and birds (and anything that gets in my yard), and when I want your attention, I throw myself on the floor and wiggle like a goofball until you can’t help but laugher. The vet found that Nilla needed two surgeries - one for bladder stones that was emergent and another to fix a torn CCL in her back left leg. I was able to pay for the emergncy bladder surgery but I don't have enough for the CCL.

Freya

Freya was adopted from the Seattle Humane Society in January of 2022. She is a cuddly sweetheart that is an extremely loved part of our family. Family consists of 5 people, one other god named Melvin and 3 cats. Freya is overall in great health and has historically enjoyed lots of hiking and playing. She is a mix breed - mastiff type, retriever and pit bull (according to her DNA test results) Limp after walks in 2024 led to consult at Animal Surgical & Orthopedic Center in Shoreline, WA - led to TPLO surgery in 2/2025 with full recovery. Was known the other leg would at some point need same surgery - on 6/23/2025 during a mild play session in yard she yelped and now no longer puts weight on her other rear leg (non surgery leg). Have a consult scheduled, but expect to need TPLO again. She is special because she is a part of our family and we all love her completely. She is a cuddler, consummate wiggler and all around happy girl. She interacts as an integral part of our family with everyone. My daughter Scarlett has a very close relationship with her. Her dog brother Melvin is her best buddy. She's perfect. Single income family for past 12yrs. Son with autism making child care options difficult. Falling behind - just did TPLO on other leg past February. Depleted savings and income diminished due to some work/life changes. Hoping for more time before next TPLO, but needs now

Wolfie

Wolfie is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Crystalloid Fluid Boluses to Treat Pyothorax.

Wolfie (short for Wolfgang) and his two siblings, Muffy and Birdie, were born in a motel. We retrieved all three kittens with the intention of keeping two but quickly fell in love with them all. They were only 6 weeks old, too young to leave their mom, so they remained very bonded to each other; particularly Wolfie and Birde. Wolfie is still a big baby and especially bonded to his sister Birdie. Wolfie had an adverse reaction to topical flea treatment and became lethargic and uninterested in his regular activities. It quickly became evident that Wolfie's health was in decline. We rushed him to eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral and discovered Wolfie was in critical condition diagnosed with pyothorax. He remains in critical care, but his prognosis for survival is positive. Wolfie is the very vocal and must involve himself in all our kitchen activities. We jokingly call him "beggar kitty" because he cannot get enough treats. Our 5-pound chihuahua, Joy has been a mother to Wolfie and his siblings since they came to us. Although Wolfie and his siblings are very big in size, they still allow Joy to scold them when she sees fit and give them baths. We both became unemployed in the last six months. Our family of 3 is now on government assistance to cover food and health care. When Wolfie became sick we were devastated and heartbroken. We would do anything to help Wolfie live the long and happy life that he so deserves.
