Every Seizure Is a Reminder Bloom Needs Help

Cocoa, FL • Friends of Ferals Cat Rescue Inc

Sweet little Bloom should be spending her days chasing toys, climbing cat trees, and discovering the world around her. Instead, she's been fighting frightening, unexplained seizures. Friends of Ferals Cat Rescue rushed Bloom to the vet after she began experiencing seizures. By the time of her first appointment, she had already suffered four episodes, prompting her veterinary team to perform blood work and a urinalysis in hopes of finding the cause. While waiting for answers, Bloom was started on medication to help control the seizures. Unfortunately, despite treatment, she continued to decline, suffering four more seizures the very next day. For a tiny kitten, every seizure is exhausting and frightening, and for the people who love her, it's heartbreaking to watch. Seizures in kittens can be incredibly difficult to diagnose. They may be caused by exposure to a toxin, a temporary chemical imbalance in the brain, or an underlying lifelong neurological condition. Right now, no one knows which path Bloom's journey will take. The only certainty is that she needs continued veterinary care, diagnostic testing, and close monitoring. Thankfully, there is finally a glimmer of hope. Since starting her new medication, Bloom's seizures have become less frequent. She has gone nearly a week with only 2 seizures occurring, a huge improvement that everyone has been celebrating. Although this is incredibly encouraging, she isn't out of the woods yet. Someone from the rescue remains with Bloom around the clock, monitoring her closely and making sure she's safe in case another seizure occurs. Bloom's progress is promising, but her medical journey is far from over. Continued testing, medications, and follow up care are essential as her team works to determine what's causing these seizures and how to give her the healthiest future possible. Please consider making a donation to help Friends of Ferals Cat Rescue continue providing Bloom with the specialized care she needs. Your generosity will help ensure this sweet little kitten can keep fighting, keep healing, and hopefully one day leave her seizures behind for good. 7/24/26 Update We have an update on Bloom's treatment plan! After consulting with her veterinary team, we've decided to begin treatment for toxoplasmosis as a precaution while continuing her anti-seizure medication for the next two months. Although we're still working to determine the exact cause of her seizures, this approach gives Bloom the best chance at recovery while covering a possible underlying cause. The plan is to keep her stable on her medication over the next eight weeks. If she continues to do well and remains seizure free, her vet will gradually begin weaning her off the anti-seizure medication. At that point, we'll be watching her very closely to see if the seizures return or if this was a temporary condition she has overcome. We're hopeful that this plan will give Bloom the best opportunity for a healthy future, but her journey isn't over just yet. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept this sweet girl in your thoughts. Your support is helping make her ongoing care and treatment possible, and we can't thank you enough. We'll continue to share updates as Bloom progresses. Please keep cheering her on! 8/3/26 Update We have some wonderful news to share about Bloom! This sweet little girl has officially gone one full week without a seizure! It's the longest stretch she's had since this frightening journey began, and we're so hopeful that she's moving in the right direction. Bloom is still receiving 24/7 supervision to make sure she's safe. Her foster mom has become her constant companion, taking her everywhere from work to shopping trips, visits to Rockledge Gardens, and even making sure she has the cutest little hat for her adventures. She's become quite the sidekick, and it's clear she's enjoying life much more than she was just a few weeks ago. As encouraging as this update is, Bloom isn't in the clear yet. Her medical team is still working to determine whether this improvement is temporary or the beginning of a lasting recovery. Until they know for certain, she'll continue to need close monitoring, follow up care, and medication to keep her safe. Your support has helped Bloom reach this milestone, but her journey isn't over. If you're able to donate or share her story, you'll be helping Friends of Ferals Cat Rescue continue providing the care she needs while everyone waits and hopes for the best.

Mam Has Endured Enough Pain—Help Her Smile Again

Wakefield, MA • Paws 4 A Cure

Mam has already been through one major dental surgery, but her battle with chronic oral pain isn't over yet. This sweet Tennessee kitty suffers from stomatitis, a painful inflammatory disease that causes severe inflammation inside a cat's mouth. Even after having most of her teeth removed last year, Mam continues to struggle with pain every time she tries to eat. Now, she needs one final surgery to remove her remaining teeth so she can finally live the comfortable, pain-free life she deserves. Mam's journey began eight years ago on a rainy day when her mom found her alone, huddled inside an overturned trash can. She was just a tiny kitten with nowhere to go. That single act of kindness changed both of their lives forever. Since then, Mam has become so much more than a pet. Her mom says, "Mam is my absolute world, and her unconditional love gives me the strength to get through every single day." When Mam was diagnosed with severe stomatitis, her veterinarian performed extensive dental extractions in September 2024, hoping that leaving seven healthy teeth would be enough to keep her comfortable. While some cats do well with a few remaining teeth, Mam unfortunately continues to experience painful inflammation that makes eating difficult. Her veterinarian now believes removing those final seven teeth is the best path forward. The good news is that cats adapt incredibly well to having no teeth, and her veterinarian is optimistic that this surgery will finally provide the lasting relief she's been waiting for. The estimated cost of Mam's final dental surgery is $750. Thanks to the generosity of Paws 4 A Cure, a $300 grant has already been awarded, leaving $450 still needed to move forward with treatment. ## Every gift directly supports Mam's journey toward a pain-free life, including: Dental extractions and oral surgery – Removing Mam's remaining seven teeth to eliminate the source of her chronic pain. General anesthesia and monitoring – Keeping Mam safe and comfortable throughout her procedure. Pain medications – Helping her recover comfortably after surgery. Surgical supplies and dental equipment – Providing the specialized care needed for her procedure. Recovery care – Ensuring Mam heals properly and can return to eating comfortably. Every dollar brings Mam one step closer to eating without pain, grooming comfortably, and enjoying the happy life every cat deserves. Mam has spent the last eight years filling her mom's life with unconditional love and companionship. Now it's our turn to help Mam. Your tax-deductible donation will help give this resilient girl the final surgery she needs to leave chronic pain behind for good. If you're unable to donate today, sharing Mam's fundraiser is another wonderful way to support her journey. Thank you for standing with Mam, her devoted mom, and Paws 4 A Cure. Together, we can give this sweet girl the pain-free future she's been waiting for.

Someone Set Chico on Fire and Left Him to Die — Help Save His Life

Spanaway, WA • Protect Animals Worldwide

Chico’s body was engulfed in flames, and whoever did this to him simply walked away. This helpless donkey was left screaming in agony, suffering unimaginable burns and pain until a desperate call for help brought him to safety. When we reached Chico, the damage was devastating. His body was covered in severe burns and open wounds. Even breathing causes him pain. He can barely move, is dangerously dehydrated, severely anemic, and physically exhausted from fighting to survive. And heartbreakingly, the fire was not the only sign of suffering. Veterinarians discovered old injuries, chronic neglect, and a previously broken tail that healed improperly—proof that Chico has endured cruelty for far too long. Right now, Chico is receiving emergency veterinary care including IV fluids, pain medication, antibiotics, wound treatment, ozone therapy, bandage changes, and constant monitoring. His burns require repeated daily treatment, and his recovery will take weeks to months of intensive medical support. Without this care, Chico will not survive. We are a small 501(c)(3) rescue with no government funding, and the cost of saving Chico is far beyond what we can manage alone. Please help us give Chico a chance to heal from the unimaginable. Your donation will provide: ❤️ emergency wound care ❤️ medications and pain relief ❤️ hydration and nutritional support ❤️ ongoing veterinary treatment The person who hurt Chico may never face justice, but together we can make sure Chico knows compassion instead of cruelty. Please donate today to help save Chico’s life.

Zoey Mama

Zoey Mama is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Midlothian, TX, who needs $2,000 for Surgery Revisions, Diagnostics, Medicine.

Midlothian, TX • New Life Cat Rescue

Zoey was found as a stray—bleeding, exhausted, and clinging to life with five newborns. A Good Samaritan rushed her to Veterinary Emergency Group (Dallas, TX), where she defied the odds and survived a risky surgery. Despite multiple post surgery complications, she’s attempting to heal in foster care, fiercely devoted to her babies and fighting for the chance to raise them. Zoey, a stray mom cat, was brought to VEG ER for Pets (Dallas) by a Good Samaritan with a prolapsed uterus, dehydration, and anemia. Despite surviving emergency surgery, her incision rapidly reopened twice with deep infection, requiring two more ER visits and emergency repairs to keep her from sepsis. Bacterial cultures were sent out as well in hopes to narrow down why this is happening. Zoey is an incredible mom—gentle, attentive, and deeply bonded to her babies. Even after surgery, she struggles to rest unless they’re nearby. She lights up during cuddle visits and watches over them lovingly. Her devotion shows just how special and strong she truly is. Intaking Zoey has turned into spending 16+ hours in ER and $1500 in revisions - not counting follow ups. We’re out of funds and facing more costs. Your support helps Zoey heal, stay with her babies, and finally rest. Every donation keeps this little family together!

Kumo

Kumo is a 1 year old Chow Chow in Sutton, MA, who needs $2,993 for TPLO Surgery.

Sutton, MA

I was blessed with Kumo in May of 2025. He joins Luna, my 3 1/2 year old Chow Chow. The 2 became fast friends, Luna, like a mother to Kumo & Kumo, a shadow to Luna. Kumo LOVES water of all kinds: sprinklers, garden hoses, & swimming in lakes (not a typical chow in this regard)! A perfect day for Kumo and Luna includes hiking, swimming, and laying in the shade on the porch! After a walk, Kumo & Luna went sprinting around the back of the house only seconds later to return with Kumo limping (holding his back left leg completely off the ground). After rest and leash walking for a few weeks, with no improvement (non-weight bearing), I learned that Kumo needs cruciate ligament TPLO surgery in order to have use of this leg and to avoid the pain he continues to be in. Kumo loves children of all ages! He gets quite vocal with his "grumbles" when he's excited & wants to play. He is very smart and well behaved and has great recall. He knows kisses & sit in Polish. He and Luna are joined at the hip and he is a total mama's boy. His injury not only breaks my heart as his "mom", but Luna shows concern as well, and isnt quite sure why he can't play like before. In the past few years I have experienced chronic health issues that have created an extreme financial burden. Unfortunately, I am still receiving treatment which makes it difficult to manage my own finances and also Kumo's surgery. It would mean so much to receive some help!

Holly

Holly is a 13 year old Labrador Retriever in Cary, NC, who needs $2,000 for Nasal Scope and Surgery.

Cary, NC

Holly joined our family as a special gift on December 25, 2013, making her a beloved 13-year-old senior dog. She currently lives in a cozy home in Cary, NC, alongside her loving family and her cat brother, Enzo. For over 12 years, she has been a gentle, loyal companion who thrives in a warm, quiet environment, and we are doing everything possible to keep her safe in the home she loves. Our sweet dog, Holly, urgently needs surgery for a painful medical condition, and her vet says it cannot wait. After exhaustively applying for financing, we are facing an unexpected financial gap and cannot cover her upfront costs in time. Any small donation toward her vet bill—or even just sharing her story—means the world to us. Thank you for helping us save our sweet girl. Holly is the gentle heart of our home and my constant companion. From greeting me after a long shift to curling up beside me when I need quiet comfort, her unconditional love means everything. Seeing her in pain breaks my heart, and I’m fighting with everything I have to get her the care she needs. She is truly irreplaceable to our family, and we just want her healthy and back home. I am a 4th grade teacher and as you may or may not know, we do not get paid for the months of June,July and August. Even though I had a summer job, that was just enough for our current bills. Having Holly healthy means having our gentle companion home, pain-free.

Specks

Specks is a 3 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Phoenix, AZ, who needs $5,000 for Portosystemic Shunt.

Phoenix, AZ

Sometimes the smallest companions make the biggest difference. Specks, a Corgi and Heeler mix and the runt of his litter, came into my life to help with depression and anxiety. In just 6 weeks, his love and companionship have made a meaningful difference. Living with family, he brings joy every day, and his spotted coat inspired his perfect name: Specks. My puppy, Specks, is facing a possible liver shunt. His ammonia and bile acid levels are dangerously high, and he's had recurring episodes of blood in his urine requiring antibiotics. He's on a special prescription liver diet, and the next step is a CT scan and ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and determine if he will need surgery or lifelong treatment. Specks is more than a puppy, he's my best friend and emotional support during a very difficult chapter of my life. When depression and anxiety made even simple days feel overwhelming, he brought light back into my world. Watching him fight through his medical challenges with such a happy spirit breaks my heart. He deserves every chance to live a long, healthy life, and i will never stop fighting. Specks brought light back into my life when I needed it most. A healthy future for him would mean everything to me. The financial burden of his care is overwhelming, and every donation brings us closer to answers and treatment. Thank you for believing in Specks and helping us get him care.
