Carlos Chan Floyd

Carlos Chan Floyd is a 6-month-old Pit Mix in Waynesville , NC, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery.

Waynesville, NC

Our neighbors had puppies and he would bring them over so our kids can see them wasn't planning on getting another dog but our other dog Sadie decided to pick her puppy! And my kids also. There was something about this one puppy (out of 7 puppies) everyone liked. He was the smallest and the only male. He wasn't as hyper as the other puppies he was more cuddly and shy. Sooo I did it I got him! We had no idea what to name him our family just shouted out names and Carlos just made everyone smile so he became Carlos! He became very close to my kids wigging not only his tail but his whole body everytime he saw them. He was a bit clumsy for awhile still is a little bit running into walls running into screen doors and just plopping his body down pretty much anywhere. I was filling dog bowls outside one day Carlos was very unsure about the hose. He would walk up look do a little bark walk away do his thing come back bark tilt the head both ways until finally he went for it not only does he try and drink it he puts his whole body in it and then gets the zoomies!!!!!!! It was a Thursday night when Carlos went missing and Sunday night when he came back home all broken. We took him to the animal hospital the next morning and sure enough after x-rays our poor boy has a broken femur! The vet said he needed surgery! And I will coast from 3 to $4000 Right now his bill for surgery is $3911.19. I am the only one working at the moment. I have 3 kids all under 12. After I pay bills and dog food cat food and things my kids need I hardly have money for gas to get to and from work. He needs surgery ASAP!!!

Pogo

Pogo is a three-month-old Siamese cat in Kingsland, GA, who needs $700 for emergency surgery.

Kingsland, GA

Heroes rise to the occasion and that's exactly what Kristina Y. and her brother did when they rescued Pogo. It all started when Kristina's brother heard his neighbor start his car and got a horrible shock. "They saw a bunch of cats scatter," Kristina tells Waggle. "They think there was a litter of kittens under the hood. Then they heard clunking and screaming from the engine." What they heard was Pogo under the hood! "Unfortunately, the (car's) belt pulled Pogo's arm and broke it," Kristina says. Kristina's brother called her in a panic. He was moving out of the country and could not keep the kitten. He sent her pictures of Pogo. "I immediately fell in love with him and couldn't leave him. I just loved his baby blue eyes. I couldn't leave him to die. I didn't want him going to an animal shelter. I knew an injured cat might be in danger. I said I'd come to get him," Kristina says. Kristina raced to meet her brother, got Pogo, and rushed him to First Coast No More Homeless Pets. Sadly Pogo's leg is in terrible shape. He needs amputation surgery and to be neutered. Adopting a new family member was not something Kristina had planned on. She is struggling to pay for his emergency care. "I currently could use the financial assistance," she says. "I am a single mother. My youngest child and I had COVID not too long ago, which put me really behind with bills. I love Pogo so much, but the cost of his treatment is too high for me to do alone." The animal hospital helped raise $1000 to treat Pogo and now Waggle is helping raise the additional $700 he needs for the operation. Pogo has a wonderful life ahead of him after he gets the surgery he needs. He has made himself at home with Kristina and her family. He developed a deep bond already with Kristina's son, who is autistic. "Pogo sleeps in front of my son's bed. He's therapeutic for him. They hit it off. Pogo has free roam of the house and occasionally will go on our porch to bird watch. He loves belly rubs and acts like a guard dog at night in front of my son's room. He will definitely let you know if he is upset because he stares you right in the face and meows as loud as he can," Kristina says. Can you help Pogo this holiday season?

Theo

Theo is a 14 year old Labrador Retriever in Edgewood , MD, who needs $400 for Physical, Blood Work, Fecal Testing & Medicine.

Edgewood, MD

Theo is Labrador Retriever mixed with a little Chow and just had his 14th bday at the end of June. I have had my big beautiful furry baby since his birth. Theo is prone to having ear infections which cause him to drunk walk. He has been seen by his regular & emergency veterinarian for this reason. Both have suggested blood work should be done especially due to him being a senior. The rough estimate that I was given ranges anywhere from $350 to $425. Given he may have arthritis it would cost more for medications. July 11th was the last time Theo was seen at the emergency veterinarian because his hind legs were everywhere and I thought the infection came back in his ears. His ears were good, everything about him looked good and blood work was suggested again. The drunk walking comes and goes, he has good & bad days. If he does have arthritis I want him to have the medication needed for this. With the blood work at least we will know what’s going on. Theo is not just my dog, he is my best friend, my shadow and my emotional support companion. When I leave my house he will sit by the front door waiting for me to return. Soon as he hears me pull up he starts expressing himself for at least 6-7 minutes. He has always been very loyal and protective of me. He loves being outside when it snows, sunny out and even in the rain. He is my entire world as I am his. Unexpected trips to the vets now has me tapped out which is my reason for making this campaign and humbly asking for help. It doesn’t even have to be money. A share, even kind words would be nice. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Ophelia

Ophelia is a 8 month old Greyhound in Parker, CO, who needs $3,866 for Crown Height Reduction and Vital Pulp Treatment.

Parker, CO

Ophelia is my oops baby. She was born on my birthday. How could I say no to that adorable little face. I brought her home at Christmas when she was 8 weeks old and she fit right in providing a Greyhound bestie for my 4 year old greyhound and an adventure buddy for my Shepherd mix. She is the perfect mix of both her sisters. She is my little shadow. I can’t imagine life without her check in boops. Ophelia has an overbite and a narrow lower jaw. For her this means that her lower canines have come in on the inside of her top canines instead of outside. In order to correct this and keep her lower canines from puncturing her soft palette and damaging her upper canines she will need a crown height reduction and vital pulp therapy ASAP. This procedure can only be done by a certified dentist. Ophelia is a dramatic little menace. She may be the youngest in the pack but she makes sure everyone knows she’s there. She has often been mistaken for a husky before people see her. Ophelia is also the bravest greyhound. She is always down to meet anyone and do anything. She charges ahead to show her big sister that there is nothing to be afraid of. We have been planning and saving for this procedure since Ophelia’s adult teeth came in but last month she sustained a stifle growth plate fracture while zooming with her sister and required surgery which drained what had been saved.
