Bendi

Bendi is a 5 year old American Shorthair in Raymond, IL, who needs $2,000 for Exploratory Laparotomy.

Raymond, IL

Bendi came into my life when my boyfriend realized my depression was getting bad and convinceour landlord for the opportunity to rescue and house a cat. She came at a time I was grieving miscarriages. We got her from the animal protective league. My boyfriend knew I needed a cats love again to get me through and after several inquiries and rejections I got from the landlord I had given up asking. I never considered that the very thing that brings her the most joy would be her demise. She has been eating tinsel out of her favorite pom-pom cat toy while under our bed. I didn't realize that the tinsel is so easily removed and have thrown away anything with a feather or tinsel in this house. Her intestine is blocked, and she hasn't eaten in over 6 days. She needs emergency surgery urgently. Bendi rescued me at a time when I wanted to un-alive myself in a severe depression and grieving two miscarriages. I cannot lose her. She runs to me when I come home and has been mothering a rescued 8 week old kitten whose mother passed away. Her favorite thing is to “flirty roll” and look you directly in your eye when you say “AWWWW”. We all need her just as much as she needs us right now. We were struggling before this but now we’ve spent $1000 at the vet for the two cats in the last two weeks. I haven’t paid my bills yet because of that alone and just found out today she needs emergency surgery and we must pay before. I can’t even afford groceries right now.

Rocky

Rocky is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Burbank, CA, who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy.

Burbank, CA

Rocky joined our lives in September through a rescue center, Priceless Pets, where he was named “Da Rock.” Inspired by his tough yet golden-hearted nature, we named him Rocky. It’s only been two months but he’s truly become our best friend, our little warrior, and the heart of our home. Rocky has taught us the beauty of unconditional love and companionship, and we can’t imagine life without him. Our sweet Rocky, a 2-year-old French Bulldog-Pitbull mix, suddenly lost the use of his hind legs last week. We quickly took him to a Dr. Andruzzi at ACCESS Specialty Hospital in Culver City. Tests revealed paralysis from a herniated disc. Surgery offers a 90-99% chance of him walking again, but the cost is overwhelming. We are forced to ask for assistance and we thank you for all the support. Rocky is an energetic and playful pup, always ready to brighten our day. Whether it’s chasing a ball, playing tug-of-war, or prancing with his favorite toys, his infectious energy fills our home. One of his sweetest quirks is carrying a toy everywhere—on walks, during playtime, and even to bed. It’s a constant reminder of his joyful spirit and never fails to make us smile. Unfortunately, with incomes combined, Rocky’s surgery is an unexpected expense we can’t afford. His health means everything to us, he’s not just a pet but family. So we’re asking for help to give him the chance to be able to enjoy the happy, active future he deserves.

Wobble

Wobble is a 7 year old Chihuahua in Olympia, WA, who needs $1,400 for Growth Excision.

Olympia, WA

My name is Glynna and I am a case manager/social worker/advocate for Carmela who stays at a homeless shelter in Olympia, Wa. Together, we are working on raising money to help her dog, Wobble, a 7 year old Chihuahua. Wobble has two other co-owners, Brandi and Mike, a couple, also members of the street community here. Wobble is deeply special to all of them and I have had the privilege of seeing why Wobble has a large mass on her tummy. It is very sensitive and causing her health to decline. She is established at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in Lacey, WA. The doctor said Wobble will not survive without the mass removed. It is a fairly simple surgery to remove it and she is expected to return to good health afterwards! When Carmela returned from a short trip and hadn't seen Wobble for a couple weeks, I saw Wobble run to her from up the street and gently lied down at Carmela's feet exposing her belly for her. She was very happy to see her! When we went to her first vet appointment she was so good and well behaved even though it was her very first vet visit. She has a gentle warrior spirit! She's been through it. Some years ago, Mike and Brandi saw Carmela was sleeping in her car alone in an unsafe area and invited her to camp with them. They have been a close unit ever since. Carmela once saved Mike's life without a weapon from an attacker. Unhoused, they look out for one another.
