Ona
Ona is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Marana, AZ, who needs $650 for Dental + Senior Medical Care.
Marana, AZ • Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary
Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary Ona needs medical help! Ona was adopted by her mom way back when the rescue first began. She was a very pregnant stray in a rough neighborhood in Tucson. We were unable to catch her and unsuccessful trapping so when she had the puppies we cornered her and got them to safety. She was very unsocialized and her foster mom ended up keeping her. They have gone through some tough times but through it all Denise and Ona have stuck together. Ona has even welcomed many rescue dogs and cats into their home over the years! Now around 9 years old and as a senior, Ona has poor dental condition and also could benefit from some bloodwork and vaccine updates. We would like to help this sweet girl and her forever human, Denise, and ensure that they can remain together and are hoping to get Ona scheduled for surgery by the end of September. Mission Statement: Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary rescues senior dogs at high risk of euthanasia in shelters because of age or illness. We give sanctuary until they find a forever home and hospice care for the unadoptable. At Cherished Tails, we are dedicated to rescuing senior dogs who face risks in local shelters due to age, medical issues, or behavioral challenges. Since our inception in 2017, we have proudly saved over 1,700 animals.

Divya
Divya is a 10 year old Poodle in Marana, AZ, who needs $800 for Mass Removal.
Marana, AZ • Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary
* Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary * Divya came to us when she was found stray by a friend of the rescue after she was seen wandering outside of our county landfill. She was very unkempt and clearly exhausted and in need of medical care and it definitely appeared that she was intentionally "dumped". Despite everything she had been through she has been very sweet and trusting with everyone she has met on her rescue journey Divya already had one surgery and was spayed and got a dental cleaning with extractions. Now she needs a 2nd surgery to remove some mammary masses on both sides of her tummy (both "chains". We will also need to biopsy to ensure that they are not cancerous in order for her to be able to be eligible for a forever home!! She is such a sweet and gentle soul. She loves love but is not demanding and is very well behaved and well mannered. She loves going on walks around the neighborhood and making new friends We have had many medical pups coming into the rescue. Sadly so many people are surrendering to shelters or not redeeming animals when they go missing and then they are at risk of being euthanized. We are doing our best to save them but it has been so challenging recently

Kookie
Kookie is a 4-month-old Pomeranian in Marana, AZ, who needs $1,900 for Liver Shunt Surgery.
Marana, AZ • Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary
Kookie came into the rescue when his family could no longer care for him. He came from CA where he was purchased from a backyard breeder. He was recently diagnosed with liver shunt and due to his age and the severity of his condition surgery is the only thing that will save him and provide a quality of life. In addition to liver shunt he also has a deformed penis that will require surgery as well Kookie just wants to give and receive love. He is still active and happy despite his medical condition. He likes his squeaky toys and will cuddle into your neck when you hold him and he loves kids. He deserves a 2nd chance to have a full healthy life despite a rough start already being in 3 different homes including his foster family Kookie is the sweetest little puppy, just full of innocence. He is still learning about the world and knows that the people in his life are trying to help. When you talk to him he does the cutest head tilt and just gazes at you with those big brown eyes. He is also enjoying meeting and learning from the "big dogs" in his foster home who are showing him the ropes. Kookie has had digestive issues since he was born. Despite trying various foods and different home remedies the previous owners were unable to improve his condition and he continued to lose weight to the point of emaciation. The liver shunt diagnosis was made at the Animal Health Center of Cave Creek AZ. He will be receiving his surgery at Pet Urgent Care in N Phoenix. Our rescue currently has 85 animals in our care including several with life threatening conditions. Donations have been down and the need/demand is higher than ever. The surgery cost is estimated at $3800 so we are trying to raise at least a portion of that!
