Help Sunday Heal After a Suspected Hit and Run

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

Sunday was found badly injured near a dangerous road, and her injuries suggest she may have been the victim of a hit and run. A caretaker with Gatos Borincoon spotted Sunday near one of the cat colonies they care for and immediately knew something was wrong. The colony is home to TNVR cats as well as cats who are unfortunately abandoned in the area. Gatos Borincoon and their caretakers regularly look after the cats living there, and when friendly strays, abandoned cats or kittens are found, they work to get them into foster homes and somewhere safe. When Sunday was found, her injuries made it appear that she may have been hit by a car. She was named Sunday for the day she was rescued and was quickly brought to the vet to find out just how badly she had been hurt. Thankfully, the veterinary team did not find a spinal fracture, but Sunday is still dealing with significant injuries. X-rays revealed that her jaw is dislocated, and there are also concerns about a possible injury to her tail. Sunday was given Convenia, an antibiotic, along with medication to help manage her pain. She is now being closely monitored by her caretaker to make sure she is able to eat soft food, urinate and have bowel movements normally. If she does not show positive improvement, she will need to return to the emergency vet. For a cat who was found injured outside with no one to call her own, having someone notice her and act quickly may have made all the difference. Gatos Borincoon was able to get Sunday the veterinary attention she needed and make sure she had a safe place to be monitored while she recovers. Sunday is safe for now, but her recovery is just beginning. Her caretaker will continue watching her closely while her medical team determines what additional veterinary care she may need for her jaw, tail and other injuries. Please consider donating to Sunday’s fundraiser to help Gatos Borincoon cover the veterinary care she has already received and any additional treatment she may need as she recovers. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps them continue responding quickly when colony cats like Sunday are found injured and in need of help. 8/11/26 Update Sunday's recovery has unfortunately hit a difficult point. She has been refusing to eat, although her caretaker was able to encourage her to take a small amount of slurry. Because of the concern surrounding her appetite, Sunday is being taken back to the vet for another evaluation. We also have more information about the extent of her injuries. In addition to her injured tail, Sunday's jaw was displaced. She was sedated so the medical team could take X-rays, which confirmed a jaw luxation. While she was under sedation, the vet was able to manually reduce the luxation and reposition her jaw. The veterinary team has recommended that Sunday be evaluated by an orthopedic specialist, but unfortunately, the cost of specialized care is beyond what the rescue can afford right now. For the moment, her caretaker is monitoring her closely and doing everything possible to keep her comfortable while they determine what her next steps will be. Sunday has already been through so much, and her road to recovery isn't close to over yet. Please continue to keep this sweet girl in your thoughts. If you're able to donate or share her campaign, your support can help Gatos Borincoon continue getting Sunday the veterinary care she needs. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and followed Sunday's journey. Your support truly makes a difference for cats like her. 8/13/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Sunday’s Waggle fundraiser has been fully funded! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared her story, and supported Gatos Borincoon as they worked to get Sunday the veterinary care she desperately needed. Sunday still has healing and recovering ahead of her. After everything her body has been through, including her displaced jaw and injured tail, her caretaker will continue monitoring her closely and making sure she has the time, care, and support she needs as she recovers. While we don’t know exactly what Sunday’s recovery will look like from here, we do know that she is no longer injured and alone near a dangerous road. She is safe, she is being cared for, and she has people looking out for her every step of the way. Your donations helped make that possible. Because of your generosity, Gatos Borincoon can receive reimbursement for Sunday’s veterinary expenses and continue focusing on helping her heal. Thank you for showing up for a cat you may never meet and giving her a chance when she needed it most. Sunday still has a road ahead of her, but she doesn’t have to travel it alone. From Sunday and everyone at Gatos Borincoon, thank you for being part of her story and helping give this sweet girl the care and kindness she deserves.

Help Spirit Recover from Anemia, Infection, and a Difficult Start

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

At just six weeks old, Spirit was found lying on the hot asphalt in the drive thru of a bakery. He was lethargic, severely dehydrated, and both of his tiny eyes were crusted completely shut. Alone, unable to see, and too weak to move, this little kitten desperately needed someone to notice him. Thankfully, Gatos Borincoon did. They rushed Spirit to the vet, where he was hospitalized and given the intensive care he needed to survive. After several days of treatment, this tiny fighter began to show everyone just how strong he really is. Since then, Spirit has continued to battle one obstacle after another. At his recent follow up appointment, the good news was that he tested negative for both parasites and feline leukemia. Those results were a huge relief. Unfortunately, his fight isn't over yet. Spirit was found to be anemic and is now taking daily Amino B-Plex to help support his recovery. He is also being treated for lice and ear mites, and despite everything he's already overcome, he is still struggling with a respiratory infection that causes persistent nasal congestion. His eyes continue to have discharge, requiring antibiotic eye drops, and he remains on oral antibiotics as he works toward a full recovery. While Spirit is improving every day, he still has a long road ahead. He has another follow up appointment in 14 days, and his most recent vet visit was far more expensive than expected due to the additional diagnostic testing needed to determine exactly what this tiny kitten was facing. Despite everything, Spirit hasn't given up. Day by day, he's growing stronger thanks to the dedicated care of his rescuers. Your donation will help cover Spirit's hospitalization, diagnostic testing, medications, follow up appointments, and any additional veterinary care he may need as he continues to heal. Spirit has already beaten incredible odds. With your support, he can continue his journey toward a healthy, happy life. 8/8/26 Update We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make Spirit’s care possible. When this tiny kitten was found lying on hot asphalt at just six weeks old, dehydrated, unable to see and too weak to move, we didn’t know what his future would hold. Thanks to Gatos Borincoon, his veterinary team, and all of you who supported his fundraiser, Spirit was able to receive the hospitalization, testing, medications and continued care he desperately needed. We’re happy to share that Spirit is looking so much better now! His eyes have been responding very well to the drops, and his rescuers are incredibly relieved that they were able to get him treatment in time to protect his vision. After everything this little guy has been through, seeing his progress has been amazing. Spirit still has a follow up appointment in two weeks to check on his recovery and hopefully continue moving forward with his routine care, but he has already come such a long way from the tiny kitten found helpless in that drive thru. Thank you for being part of Spirit’s story and giving Gatos Borincoon the support they needed to act quickly and get him the care he deserved. Every donation helped give this little fighter a chance, and we are so grateful to everyone who showed up for him.

Help Spirit See a Brighter Future

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

At just six weeks old, Spirit was found lying on the hot asphalt in the drive-through of a bakery. He was lethargic and dehydrated, and both of his tiny eyes were crusted completely shut. This kitten was alone, unable to see, and urgently needed help. Gatos Borincoon rescued Spirit and rushed him to veterinary care. His condition was uncertain, he was hospitalized so he could receive the close attention and treatment he needed. After several days of care, Spirit began to perk up! He was finally showing everyone just how much fight was inside his little body. Spirit has since been discharged and is continuing antibiotic eye cream while recovering in the rescue’s care. He has also received his first dose of deworming medication and will return to the vet in one week for a recheck. Although his progress is encouraging, it is still too soon to know whether his eyes have suffered lasting damage. Spirit has already overcome a frightening start, but his journey is not finished. He will need continued medication, follow-up care, and careful monitoring as his rescuers learn more about his vision and overall health. Please donate to help Gatos Borincoon cover Spirit’s hospitalization and ongoing veterinary care. Every contribution will help give this tiny survivor the chance to heal, see clearly, and grow into the happy kitten he deserves to be. 7/28/26 Update Thanks to your incredible generosity, Spirit's fundraiser has reached its goal and is now officially closed. We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared his story, and cheered him on throughout his journey. Spirit hasn't had his follow up appointment just yet, but there is encouraging news. His eyes are already looking much better, and everyone is hopeful there won't be any permanent damage from the infection. He is scheduled for his follow up appointment on August 3rd, and he'll also be visiting the veterinarian this Thursday for a fecal test to make sure he's continuing to heal in every way. Your support has made it possible for Spirit to receive the care he needs, and we can't thank you enough for giving this little kitten the chance to recover. We'll be thinking of him as he heads to his upcoming appointments and are so grateful to have such a compassionate community standing behind him.

Henry's Eye Is Healing Because of You

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

Henry's story is one of resilience. When Gatos Borincoon first found this friendly black cat living outdoors with a painful injury near his eye, they feared he might lose it. Then Henry disappeared, leaving everyone worried they would never see him again. Thankfully, he returned, and rescuers were able to trap him and rush him to the veterinarian. The good news was that Henry's injury turned out to be an abscess above his eye that had burst near his eyelid, rather than a devastating eye injury. He immediately began treatment with injectable antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication to fight the infection and reduce the swelling. Life on the streets had clearly taken its toll. Henry's body was covered in scratches, his coat was patchy, and he needed parasite treatment to help him begin healing from the inside out. Despite everything he had endured, he never lost his sweet personality. He quickly showed everyone that he loves attention, happily asks for food, and enjoys every bit of affection he can get. Since starting treatment, Henry has made wonderful progress. His abscess has healed, his beautiful black coat is starting to grow back, and he is looking more like the healthy cat he was always meant to be. While he is doing much better, he isn't quite finished with treatment. His latest veterinary exam found lingering eyelid swelling and eye discharge, so he has been prescribed antibiotic eye ointment and will need another recheck to ensure the infection has completely resolved. Once Henry receives the all clear from his vet, he will still need to be neutered, vaccinated, and prepared for foster care before he can begin searching for the loving forever home he deserves. Gatos Borincoon primarily focuses on TNVR, but when an injured community cat like Henry needs more than trap, neuter, and return, they step in and give them every chance at a better life. Henry has come so far, but his journey isn't over yet. Your donation will help cover his remaining veterinary care, medications, follow up appointments, neuter surgery, and vaccinations so this incredibly sweet boy can make a full recovery and finally leave life on the streets behind forever. 8/8/26 Update After making such wonderful progress, Henry’s foster recently noticed more wet discharge coming from his forehead, and unfortunately, it appears his infection has not completely resolved. The abscess above his eye has started producing pus again, and while one of his eyes has healed, the other remains swollen and irritated. At Henry’s latest follow up appointment his veterinary team performed cytology on both areas of discharge to get a better understanding of what is causing the ongoing infection. He has now been prescribed oral antibiotics and eye drops and will return to the vet for another follow up in two weeks. Henry is also receiving another application of Revolution Plus as his care continues. For now, his neuter surgery will have to wait. Henry cannot be neutered until his veterinarian is confident that the infection has cleared and gives him the OK to move forward. It’s disappointing to see the infection return after Henry had been doing so well, but Gatos Borincoon is continuing to make sure he receives everything he needs to get through this. His foster is keeping a close eye on him, and we’re hopeful that this next round of treatment will finally get him one step closer to putting his days of infections, medications and life on the streets behind him. Thank you to everyone who has donated and continues to support Henry’s recovery. Your generosity is helping Gatos Borincoon cover these additional vet visits, testing and medications while this sweet boy continues to heal.

Help Save Henry's Eye and Give Him the Future He Deserves

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

Henry appeared suddenly in the same area where another community cat had recently been found, a friendly black cat with a painful looking injury near his eye. At first, rescuers feared the worst. Henry disappeared for a while, and everyone worried they might never see him again. But on Friday morning, he finally came back. Gatos Borincoon was able to trap him and bring him to the vet that very same day. Because of the location and severity of the injury, there was real concern that Henry might lose his eye. Thankfully, his first veterinary exam brought some cautiously hopeful news: the injury appears to be an abscess above his eye that burst near his eyelid. He received injectable antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication to begin treating the infection and swelling, and he will need a follow up exam in two weeks to evaluate how his eye is healing and determine the next steps in his care. Henry has clearly had a difficult time surviving outdoors. His body is covered in multiple scratches, and his skin and coat show the toll that stray life has taken on him. He was treated with Revolution Plus to help address fleas, ticks, and other parasites, and his rescuers are hopeful that with proper care, his skin will heal and his beautiful black fur will begin to grow back. Gatos Borincoon focuses primarily on TNVR, but when an injured cat shows up in one of their colony caretakers’ areas, they do everything they can to help. Henry is exactly the kind of cat who needs that chance. Once he has recovered and had his recheck, the plan is to have him neutered, vaccinated, and brought into a foster home so he can eventually be adopted. Despite everything he has been through, Henry is incredibly sweet. He is friendly, gentle, and full of love. His rescuers believe that once his eye heals and his fur grows back, he will be a stunningly handsome cat, and more importantly, a wonderful companion for a very lucky person. Henry’s care is just beginning. He still needs his follow up exam, continued treatment for his eye injury, parasite prevention, neuter surgery, vaccines, and foster care before he can be ready for adoption. We are raising funds to help Gatos Borincoon cover the veterinary expenses of taking Henry into their rescue and giving him the care he needs to heal. For small rescues, fundraisers like this are a lifeline. Your donation will help Henry continue his recovery, receive the medical care he needs, and move one step closer to the safe, loving indoor life he deserves. 6/30/26 Update We have a wonderful update to share. Henry is doing better and recovering well! His abscess is starting to dry up, though there is still some slow drainage that needs continued care. He is being cleaned at least twice a day to keep him comfortable and help support his healing. While his photos may look concerning, his personality is shining through. He is happily demanding attention, asking for food, and showing everyone just how loving and affectionate he is. Despite everything he has been through, he continues to be a sweet and vocal boy who loves being around people. He has a veterinary checkup scheduled for Friday, where he will be evaluated and the next steps for his care will be determined. We want to thank everyone who donated, shared, and sent kind thoughts for him. Your support has helped give him the care and comfort he needed during this difficult time. Thank you for being part of his journey and helping him get the second chance he deserves.

A Fresh Start Begins With Relief From Pain

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

They survived life on the streets, but now they are living with daily pain that cannot be ignored. Daniel, Angelo, Nube, Teddy, and Cheeto were all once community cats, strays, or abandoned, left without access to basic veterinary care. Now thanks to Gatos Borincoon, they are safe, the extent of their dental disease has come to light, and they urgently need treatment. Five cats in our care are dealing with dental issues, and four of them are FIV positive, making proper and timely care even more important. Daniel, Angelo, and Nube have been diagnosed with severe tartar buildup and require COHAT procedures with extractions under anesthesia. Angelo is suffering from stomatitis, with severe tartar and plaque, painful inflammation, and red gums that make eating difficult. Nube has severe tartar and plaque, along with erupted upper canines, significant gingival recession, and gingivitis. Daniel is also in need of dental extractions due to severe tartar. Teddy and Cheeto require dental cleanings. Teddy has moderate tartar, and Cheeto has mild tartar that still needs to be addressed. We are asking for your support to help us with their care. Donations will go directly toward anesthesia, extractions, cleanings, and the medical treatment they need. Please consider donating to support Daniel, Angelo, Nube, Teddy, and Cheeto’s dental care. Every dollar helps bring them closer to a life free from constant pain. Let’s give these cats the comfort and relief they have gone so long without. 5/26/26 Update We have some wonderful news to share about Daniel, Angelo, Nube, Teddy, and Cheeto! Thanks to your support, the FIV-positive cats in our care have now received the dental treatment they so urgently needed. After living on the streets without access to veterinary care, they had been enduring daily pain from severe dental disease for far too long. Their procedures were extensive and costly, but we are encouraged by the progress they have made so far. Angelo, Daniel, and Nube all underwent major dental work, including extractions, while Teddy and Cheeto received the cleanings they needed to help prevent further pain and complications. While their recovery is still ongoing, they have been healing well and are beginning to enjoy a greater level of comfort than they have experienced in a very long time. We recently captured some sweet moments of a few of them playing and relaxing in a loving home environment, something that once felt impossible for these former street cats. Seeing these cats safe, cared for, and moving forward on their healing journey is exactly what we hoped for when we first asked for help. However, their medical care does not end here. Continued monitoring, follow-up treatment, and the everyday costs of caring for special-needs cats remain an ongoing need. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and supported this fundraiser. Your kindness made these life-changing procedures possible and is helping give these cats the chance to continue recovering in comfort and safety. Thank you for being part of their journey and for helping us provide the care they still need. 7/19/26 Update: Angelos already adopted! Good news for 2 of the FIV cats!Angelo and Nube have been adopted. We still have lingering vet bills from these 4 boys. And hoping that Teddy and Daniel soon get some interest. Cheeto is in a different foster and he is proving to be a very loving cat. His past nearly forgotten. 7/31/26 Update: Cheeto getting interviewed for adoption We have exciting news! Sunday is Cheeto's turn to get his adoption interview. He has overcome so much with the help of donors like you we have been able to help him from urinary clog to dental issues, Cheeto has not walked an easy path living as a stray took a toll on his health but now he is healthy and loving. We are very happy for his recovery and prospects of a great forever home. Angelo and Nube already been adopted and we still wait for Teddy and Daniel to find their special someone that will adopt these FIV+ cats. 8/8/26 Update We have another wonderful update to share about Daniel, Angelo, Nube, Teddy, and Cheeto. All five cats have now received the dental care they needed, and we are so happy to share that three of them have officially been adopted! Angelo and Nube found their families, and after recently sharing that Cheeto had an adoption interview coming up, we can now say that he has found his forever home too. For cats who once lived as strays, community cats, or were abandoned without access to the veterinary care they needed, seeing three of them healthy and in loving homes is an incredible outcome. There are still two members of this group waiting for their turn. Daniel and Teddy remain in the care of Gatos Borincoon and are still searching for the special families who will give these FIV positive boys the homes they deserve. We hope to have some new photos to share soon as they continue waiting. While the cats have received the dental treatment they needed, Gatos Borincoon still needs help covering the cost of that care. The rescue stepped up and made sure these five boys received treatment when they needed it rather than waiting for the fundraiser to be fully funded. As a result, they are still paying down the rescue credit card used toward their veterinary expenses. Their treatments may be behind them, but their vet bills are not. If you’ve been following their journey and haven’t had a chance to donate yet, please consider making a contribution today. Every donation will help Gatos Borincoon pay down the remaining costs of the veterinary care that gave these cats relief from their dental pain and helped prepare them for brighter futures. Three of these boys are now enjoying the forever homes they waited so long for, and we’re hoping Daniel and Teddy will be next. Your support can help Gatos Borincoon finish covering the care that made these happy endings possible while they continue caring for the two boys still waiting. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and supported them so far. We’ve made incredible progress, but we still need your help to reach our fundraising goal. Rescued Just in Time-Help Rusty Recover From Emergency Surgery

Franklin, MA • Gatos Borincoon, Inc.

Rusty’s story began when he appeared in the courtyard of one of our dedicated foster volunteers, clearly in distress and in urgent need of help. His tail was severely injured, and a strong odor of decay indicated something was very wrong. Our volunteer acted immediately, rushing Rusty to our veterinary partner for evaluation. The diagnosis was serious. Rusty was suffering from a severe infection along with mild anemia. He was started on antibiotics right away and admitted for medical boarding so he could receive the care he desperately needed. After further examination, the veterinarian determined that Rusty required an emergency tail amputation to save his life. The infection had already turned necrotic and was rapidly spreading up his tail toward his body, putting his vital organs at risk. Rusty has since undergone surgery and he is on the road to recovery, but his journey is not over. We need your support to cover the cost of his emergency surgery, hospitalization, medications, and ongoing care. Every donation helps ensure that animals like Rusty get a second chance at life. Please consider contributing to Rusty’s recovery and helping us continue to be there for animals in crisis when they need us most. 5/28/26 Update When Rusty first arrived in our care, he was in critical condition. A severe infection had caused part of his tail to become necrotic, requiring emergency surgery to save his life. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, he received the urgent medical care he needed, including hospitalization, medications, and a life-saving tail amputation. Since his surgery, Rusty has continued his recovery journey. Because he was extremely skittish and semi feral, he spent two weeks recuperating in a secure playpen set up in the courtyard of the apartment complex where he was found. He remained under close observation there until he was healthy enough to receive his vaccinations several weeks later. Today, Rusty has chosen to stay in that same courtyard, a safe and familiar space where he feels comfortable. The volunteer who first helped him continues to care for him every day, providing food, fresh water, toys, shelter from the elements, and plenty of patience as she works to earn his trust. Every photo of Rusty represents a small victory. As a semi feral cat, he has always been wary of people, so earning his trust has been a gradual process. Our focus has been on giving him the time and space he needs to feel safe while he continues to recover and adapt to his new life without adding any undue stress. While Rusty is still adjusting and his journey is ongoing, we are encouraged by the progress he has made so far. He appears to be adapting remarkably well to life without a tail, and his healthy coat and overall appearance are wonderful signs of the care and healing he has received. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Rusty's care. Your donations made his emergency treatment possible and continue to help us provide for his ongoing needs as he builds confidence and settles into a safer life. Thank you for being part of Rusty's story and for helping us give him the chance to keep moving forward with his recovery. 6/5/26 Update We are happy to share that Rusty continues to do well and has made tremendous progress over the past several months. He now visits the courtyard twice each day for meals and often spends long stretches of time relaxing there, showing just how comfortable he has become in the place he calls home. His tail has healed beautifully, his coat is healthy and shiny, and his overall condition is excellent. Perhaps most encouraging of all, Rusty is slowly becoming more social and accepting of human interaction. While he is still very much on his own timeline, he has made steady progress in building trust with the volunteer who cares for him every day. For a cat who once kept his distance from everyone, these small steps are meaningful milestones. Seeing Rusty healthy, comfortable, and growing more confident has been incredibly rewarding. None of this would have been possible without the support of the donors who stepped up when he needed help most. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, shared his story, and cheered him on throughout his journey. Your generosity gave Rusty the opportunity to heal, thrive, and look toward a brighter future. Thank you for being part of Rusty's story and for helping us make a lasting difference in his life.
