Help Croissant Take a Step Toward Recovery

Sebastopol, CA • Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary

Croissant came to Goatlandia Sanctuary in October 2025 with his best friend Judy. The two Nigerian Dwarf & LaMancha mixes are just over 3 years old and completely bonded. Spending their days grazing together. They were rescued from a dairy when their previous home realized they needed more space to thrive. Since arriving here, they’ve been happy, healthy, and inseparable. But this week everything changed. We noticed Croissant wasn’t putting weight on his back leg. Immediately, we knew we needed to get Croissant help. X-rays confirmed he has a broken tibia. He’s now at the UC Davis Large Animal Veterinary Teaching Hospital and is scheduled for surgery. Despite everything, Croissant is in great spirits, eating well, and being the sweetest patient. He’s made several new friends with the staff. His surgery is estimated to cost $5,000–$7,000, and we’re fundraising to give him the chance to heal and return home to Judy. Every donation helps Croissant take steps toward recovery. We can’t continue to do this kind of work without help from you! Donate, share, and spread the word. Let’s get Croissant back on his feet. ❤️ 3/31/26 Update: Update: Croissant is recovering from surgery Croissant has successfully undergone surgery with the incredible team at UC Davis Large Animal Veterinary Teaching Hospital! He is now back home at Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary, where he is resting comfortably and beginning his recovery. After surgery, Croissant was especially excited to enjoy some fresh leaves, a wonderful sign that his appetite and spirits remain strong. He will continue to be closely monitored as he heals, with plenty of care, rest, and support from his sanctuary family. Thank you to everyone who has supported Croissant on his journey so far. Your generosity is helping give him the best chance at a full recovery and a return to grazing alongside his best friend, Judy. 5/8/26 Update Croissant is continuing to do wonderfully after his surgery and is recovering comfortably back home at Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary. Goatlandia is incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and supported Croissant during this unexpected medical emergency. Your kindness helped make his surgery and recovery possible, and gave him the chance to continue living safely alongside his sanctuary family.

Help Two Rescued Piglets Get the Care They Deserve

Sebastopol, CA • Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary

Sometimes rescue isn’t just about saving a life, it’s about giving that life a real future. At Goatlandia, we recently welcomed two sweet piglets who were rescued and given a second chance. Now they’re safe, loved, and finally where they belong. But their journey isn’t over yet. In order for them to live healthy, happy lives and eventually find their forever homes, they need to be spayed/neutered — a critical step for their long-term wellbeing. We are so close! These procedures will: ✨ Prevent future health issues ✨ Support safe placement into loving homes ✨ Ensure they can live full, stress-free lives Rescue doesn’t stop at saving, it continues through proper medical care. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving these piglets the future they deserve. If you feel called to help, your support truly makes the difference between surviving and thriving. Together, we can finish what rescue started. 3/9/26 Update: Piglets found a home! Last month, two tiny piglets — Lacey and Lou — were found abandoned in the middle of the road and brought to Goatlandia by a kind stranger. Many of you followed their story as they grew stronger each day while we searched for the right forever home. Then, a few days ago, another little piglet was found in need. He was also spotted in the road, and a kind stranger stopped, gently placed him in a shoebox, and brought him to @clayton\_valley\_farms where Cesyli from @stardust\_sanctuary stepped in to help. When he arrived, he was shivering and covered in ticks. They carefully removed more than 40 ticks, warmed him up, and got him drinking milk. Cesyli’s daughter named the tiny piglet Snout. Pigs are deeply social animals, and everyone hoped Snout wouldn’t have to start his life alone. Thanks to Maggie at @pigluvco, the right connections were made — bringing together Goatlandia, Stardust Sanctuary, and @Kyle Hetzel, who welcomed all three piglets into their new home. Lacey, Lou, and Snout are now safe together and growing up side by side, exactly as piglets should. This is what rescue really looks like: strangers stopping their cars, sanctuaries stepping in and working together, and compassionate people opening their homes. A whole community choosing kindness so these little lives can have the future they deserve.

Photo of Smokey

Smokey

Smokey is a 13 year old American Shorthair in Sebastopol, CA, who needs $2,000 for Rear Right Leg Amputation Due to Fracture.

Sebastopol, CA • Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary

Smokey was one of two cats living outdoors at a restaurant in downtown Sebastopol; living under cars and sleeping near an outdoor air conditioner unit for warmth. A kind human named Dani would come daily to care for the cats, and did so for many years. When we learned of their situation, we decided to rescue them and bring them to our sanctuary for a safe, indoor retirement. Smokey recently injured his rear right leg, and hid in a crawl space under the house. It took awhile to coax him out, but we did and took him to the vet. Multiple fractures close to the knee make this injury irreparable, so the only option is amputation. Cats generally do well with three legs, and Smokey is others healthy, so we are moving forward with this lifesaving surgery. Two very lucky cats, Smokey and Biskit have survived a decade or more living on the streets and in a parkling lot. Despite their challenging life, both are very loving cats, and have been enjoying their retirement at the sanctuary with occasional days laying in the sun in the garden. They love people, and have adapted to sanctuary life very well. Smokey is a sweet older boy who is very healthy. The only option for Smokey at this point is amputation; due to the severity of his fracture. It's an expensive procedure, but we are committed to giving every being here every chance at a healthy happy life. With your help, we can for Smokey. 3/9/26 Update: Smokey's surgery went great~! Thank you to everyone who helped with Smokey's lifesaving surgery. He did great and is enjoying his tripod life! 3/9/26 Update: Smokey is all healed and living his best life Smokey's amputation surgery went beautifully and he is all healed and enjoying his life as a senior tripod cat. He is living at Goatlandia with his best feline friend; Biskit. Thank you to everyone who helped save his life.
