Punzzy
Emergency Care for Punzzy — Severe Leg Injury
Perkins, OK • Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation
Punzzy, a 4-year-old retired racehorce, is currently facing a medical emergency. He has sustained a severe injury to his back leg, which has been torn open and requires immediate veterinary care. An emergency vet is on the way, and the full extent of his injuries is still being assessed. Injuries like this are not only painful but can quickly become life-threatening without prompt treatment. Punzzy will likely need urgent wound care, possible surgical intervention, medications, and ongoing monitoring to prevent infection and support healing. Right now, the priority is stabilizing him and giving him the best chance at recovery. Emergency cases like this are sudden and costly, but they are moments where immediate action makes all the difference. Funds from this campaign will go toward: • Emergency veterinary care and treatment • Wound management and possible surgical repair • Medications, antibiotics, and pain management • Ongoing care and recovery support Punzzy needs help right now. Every donation will directly support his care and give him a chance to heal from this traumatic injury. 4/30/26 Update: Punzzy Suffers Additional Injuries We wanted to share a serious update on Punzzy. Following his initial injury, an unauthorized incident occurred in which Punzzy was removed from his secured pasture. During this event, he sustained additional injuries to his opposite hind leg. Punzzy is now safe and under close veterinary supervision at Benchmark Animal Clinic in Perkins, Oklahoma, where he is receiving ongoing treatment, pain management, and wound care. This unexpected setback has significantly increased the level of care he requires. In addition to treating both injuries, he must now remain under veterinary supervision to ensure proper healing and prevent further complications. His medical expenses are rising quickly, with current estimates now expected to reach $2,000 or more. Despite everything, Punzzy is receiving the care he needs and continues to fight through this difficult recovery. We are incredibly grateful for the support that has brought him this far. If you are able to help, your continued support will directly impact his ability to heal safely and fully. 5/12/26 Update: Help Punzzy Keep Healing Punzzy continues to make steady progress in the care of Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue & Rehabilitation. His hind legs are beginning to heal, although they still have a long way to go and remain very raw in appearance. The good news is that his veterinary team is confident there does not appear to be any major permanent damage, which is incredibly encouraging for his recovery. Punzzy is receiving lots of love, attention, and ongoing care as he heals, and everyone is hopeful he may be able to return home sooner than expected, possibly before the end of May. Thank you to everyone continuing to support Punzzy on his healing journey. 5/19/26 Update: Punzzy is home but therapy continues Punzzy returned home Friday evening. Unfortunately, he has been very mentally scarred by the event and now requires special handling. This has also undone all of the training he has under gone AND the attack caused his adopter to back out of the adoption. PHYSICALLY his legs will take a long time to regrow the hair and he IS physically clear to restart work, but his fear and anxiety are preventing it, for now. In order to keep Punzzy from attacking the horses in the neighboring pasture, we are having to install electric fencing. We are hopeful that given time, love, kindness and retraining, Punzzy will come full circle. Until then, will YOU help us help Punzzy? 6/30/26 Update: Long over due Hi everyone! I apologise for the long overdue update. Punzzy has fully healed physically and is now starting on his mental recovery. We are hoping he will be all clear soon.

Spring is Here and We Need Help!
Perkins, OK • Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation
Spring has officially arrived bringing longer days and greener pastures! But with the changing season comes one of our most important responsibilities: making sure our horses have the nourishment they need to stay healthy and strong. Right now, we are working to raise $2,500 to cover essential feed and hay for the months ahead. While spring brings new growth, it also marks a critical time for maintaining safe weight, supporting healthy bodies, and ensuring each horse receives quality nutrition. Full hay stacks and well-stocked feed bins aren’t just supplies, to us they’re peace of mind. They mean steady energy and the comfort of knowing every horse in our care is getting exactly what they need. Caring for horses is a daily commitment that doesn’t pause with the seasons. Each bale of hay and each bag of feed directly supports their wellbeing, from senior horses who need extra calories to younger ones growing into their strength. Your support helps turn this goal into security. A gift of any size brings us closer to our target and ensures that nourishment is one thing we never have to worry about. As we welcome spring’s renewal, we’re asking for your help to provide the simple, essential foundation our horses rely on every day: healthy food and full bellies! Thank you for standing with us and helping us keep our herd strong this season. 4/24/26 Update: Final update We are so happy that so many people took the time to read this campaign, unfortunately it has gone as planned. As always,we will continue to do our best to help the animals in our care and the animals in the community.

Daggy
Please Support Daggy On His Road to Recovery
Perkins, OK • Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation
Daggy was brought to our non-profit rescue yesterday, thanks to an incredible family who refused to ignore his cries during the major snowstorm we just endured. They found him outside, freezing, crying for help, alone in the snow and ice. As soon as the roads were safe, they rushed Daggy to a local veterinarian. There, he received vaccinations, was neutered, and had full lab work done. While he was finally warm and safe, the results brought heartbreaking news — Daggy tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and FIV. Because the family who found him already had two senior cats at home, they were unable to keep him (as it would put their own sweeties at risk)—but they made sure he didn’t face this diagnosis alone. That’s when Daggy came into our care. Despite everything he’s been through, Daggy is incredibly affectionate, loving, and playful. He adores attention and clearly just wants to be loved. Sadly, his condition means he will require ongoing veterinary care, including antivirals, antibiotics, steroids, and pain management to ensure he can live comfortably and with dignity. Our team and veterinarians strongly suspect that when Daggy’s original owners learned he was sick, he was abandoned — left outside during a brutal winter to face what could have been a very short life. If not for one compassionate family, Daggy might not be here today. Please help us help Daggy. Your donation will go directly toward his medical care and give him the chance to experience safety, comfort, and love — something every cat deserves. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Daggy’s story makes a huge difference. Thank you for standing with us — and with Daggy. EMERGENCY UPDATE 🚨 We are rushing Daggy to the vet RIGHT NOW. For the past 36 hours, Daggy has been suffering from severe, diarrhea with no improvement, and we are extremely concerned for his life. Given Daggy’s compromised immune system, this is a medical emergency. We are likely facing: \\\\\\\\-V fluids to prevent dehydration \\\\\\\\- Emergency medications \\\\\\\\- Possible overnight hospitalization if our veterinarian determines it’s necessary to stabilize him Without fast treatment, this situation could quickly become life-threatening. Daggy has already endured so much — abandonment, illness, and uncertainty — and now he needs us to fight for him again. PLEASE HELP US SAVE DAGGY. Your donation right now will go directly toward emergency veterinary care and could mean the difference between life and death. If you’re unable to donate, please share — time is critical. Thank you for standing with Daggy when he needs it most. 2/28/26 Update: Daggy's Vet Visit Daggy is continuing on his healing journey and will be going back to the vet the week of the for a follow-up visit and an abdominal scan. Our team has noticed that it feels like there may be a mass in his abdomen, which could be the reason behind his loose to completely water-like stools. This scan will help give us the answers we need and determine next steps. Please keep Daggy in your thoughts as we work toward getting clarity on what’s going on inside his little body. More updates to come after his appointment. 3/27/26 Update: Update: Keeping Daggy Comfortable Daggy had an emergency veterinary visit yesterday after his condition suddenly worsened. During the exam, the veterinary team discovered that he is suffering from hepatitis along with enlarged kidneys, which has made his case much more complex than originally expected. He is currently resting at home while recovering from hepatitis and ongoing liver disease and is receiving supportive care, including fluids and medication to keep him stable. Given his diagnosis, Daggy is now being treated as a hospice case, with the focus on maintaining his comfort and quality of life. To support his wellbeing, especially since he deeply misses being outdoors, his caregivers at Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation are creating a safe outdoor condo space where he can enjoy fresh air while remaining protected and closely monitored. Thank you for continuing to support Daggy and helping ensure he receives the compassionate care he deserves during this stage of his journey. 4/22/26 Update Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Daggy and helped provide him with the care and love he deserves. At this time, Daggy has been diagnosed as a terminal hospice case, and we are beginning to see signs of his condition progressing. While this is incredibly difficult, our focus is on making sure his days are filled with comfort, love, and peace. Daggy truly is the king of the house, and he is surrounded by people who adore him and are committed to giving him the best quality of life for as long as possible. We are so grateful for the support that has allowed us to be here for him during this time. It means more than we can put into words. With heartfelt thanks, Hooves & Hugs Michelle and Gypsy Heritage Horse Rescue & Rehabilitation Team
