At just 8 weeks old, Jedidiah was thrown from a moving vehicle like he was nothing more than garbage. The terrifying incident left this tiny puppy with severe road rash, a broken clavicle, and a broken leg at the elbow. But his physical injuries were only the beginning of the challenges Jed would face. For the next six weeks, Jed was on strict crate rest and unable to put weight on his injured leg. Instead of spending those important early weeks exploring his world, meeting new people, and learning how to be a puppy, Jed was confined to his crate while his body healed. By the time he was ready to experience the world again, he was afraid of almost everything. People scared him. Leaves scared him. Doors scared him. And going outside? That was especially frightening. Jed had survived a traumatic start to life, but he still needed to learn something just as important as healing from his physical injuries: that he was safe. That's where behavioral rehabilitation came in. Maybel's Legacy has invested $3,000 in behavioral modification training to help Jed build confidence, overcome his fears, and learn the skills he missed during those critical early weeks. He is currently halfway through his training, and he is making amazing progress. Jed is learning how to be a dog. He's learning that new experiences don't have to be scary, that people can be trusted, and that the world around him can be a place to explore rather than fear. His physical rehabilitation may not have come with a veterinary bill, but helping Jed recover emotionally has required a significant investment of time, training, and resources. Donations to his campaign will help support the behavioral care that is giving this sweet puppy the opportunity to overcome his past and build a confident future. At only 6 months old, Jed has so much life ahead of him. He survived being thrown away. Now, with the right support, he is learning that he is worth protecting, worth loving, and safe in this world. Help Kittens, Louie & LeRoy — Lucie’s Brothers Need Urgent Eye Care

Maybel’s Legacy recently fought hard to save a tiny kitten named Baby Lucie, and now her brothers, Louie and LeRoy, need help too. The brothers were examined by the vet on April 6 after showing serious eye complications similar to their sister’s condition. What followed was an emotional and urgent turn. During Louie’s appointment, veterinarians determined that his eye required immediate surgery to prevent it from rupturing. However, once surgery began, his medical team discovered he was too small and fragile to safely intubate. The procedure had to be stopped, and Louie was quickly transported to an emergency hospital where he underwent an emergency enucleation to relieve pain and prevent further complications. Louie is now recovering while receiving oral antibiotics and medicated eye treatments. While his care team is hopeful about his healing, it is unlikely he will retain vision in his remaining eye. His brother LeRoy is currently in a careful monitoring phase. He is being seen weekly while receiving antibiotics and topical medications, but his condition may require evaluation by a veterinary specialist to determine the next steps for preserving his comfort and quality of life. Right now, both boys need ongoing medical care, close veterinary supervision, and continued treatment as their rescue works to stabilize their health. Funds from this campaign will help Maybel’s Legacy cover: \\\\- Emergency surgical care for Louie \\\\- Weekly veterinary rechecks and monitoring \\\\- Medications, antibiotics, and eye treatments \\\\- Potential specialist evaluation for LeRoy \\\\- Continued medical support during recovery These tiny brothers are safe because they were given a chance — but their care is far from over. With community support, Maybel’s Legacy can continue providing the treatment they need to heal, grow stronger, and move toward brighter futures. Every contribution helps ensure Louie and LeRoy receive the medical care necessary to live comfortable, loved lives. 5/1/26 Update: Louie & Leroy are Growing Strong and Healing Louie and Leroy are both doing great in the care of Maybel's Legacy, they are playing, eating, growing, and acting like the happy, energetic kittens they are. Louie’s eye has started to shift more blue than grey, which is an encouraging sign, and there is hope that his vision may continue to improve. Leroy is still receiving treatment for his eye, and steady progress is being seen each day. His eye continues to look a little better, and there is hope that his condition will continue to resolve over time. On a more cautious note, one of the two mothers has been diagnosed with health concerns, including FeLV and possibly FIP. Because it is unclear which kitten belongs to which mother, all of the kittens are being closely monitored as a precaution. At this time, it remains a waiting period while they continue to grow and be observed. Thanks to the support from donors, Louie and Leroy are safe, thriving, and receiving the care they need. That support is making a meaningful difference in their journey. 5/8/26 Update Louie and Leroy continue to do wonderfully in the care of Maybel’s Legacy. The brothers are growing, playing, eating well, and finally getting the chance to simply enjoy being kittens. Help Baby Lucie Heal After Emergency Eye Surgery

Baby Lucie is only three weeks old. At an age when she should be learning to wobble, discovering her tiny purr, and curling up safely in warm blankets, this little kitten was instead facing severe pain and an uncertain future. Lucie came into the care of Maybel’s Legacy with a badly swollen and infected eye that quickly worsened and ruptured. She was clearly uncomfortable and needed immediate veterinary intervention to relieve her pain and give her a chance at a healthy life. After an emergency evaluation, veterinarians determined that the kindest and safest option was an urgent eye removal surgery (enucleation), followed by specialized pain management and supportive care. Though incredibly small and fragile, Lucie showed remarkable strength throughout the process. At just a few ounces, Lucie cannot advocate for herself, but Maybel’s Legacy is committed to making sure she receives the care, comfort, and safety every kitten deserves. After her rescue, Lucie required an eye removal surgery, but she has healed beautifully and is now healthy, happy, and full of personality. She is playful, active, and enjoying time with her siblings, especially Leah and Louie, with whom she loves to nap and spend time. She is now feeling like a typical kitten again — energetic, and affectionate — and is approaching readiness for adoption. Thank you to everyone who has supported Lucie’s care so far. Lucie loves spending her days playing, snuggling up for naps with her siblings, and soaking up the comfort and safety of rescue life.
