Bradford and Boss
Abandoned together, we can be Bradford and Boss’s reason to live
Maryland Hgts, MO • On My Way to Furever Rescue
In November, mail piled up at their home and a welfare check had been called. Inside, their owner had been gone for 12 days. Outside were Bradford and Boss. Two bonded boys chained, with no food, no water, and inadequate shelter. For nearly two weeks, they waited. Hungry. Confused. Grieving. With no local animal control, they were taken to an overcrowded rural shelter and placed in an outside run. Sick, malnourished, covered in fleas, and losing hair, they were at risk of euthanasia for space. Lucky for them a miracle came along; a local police officer pleaded for their lives. We knew we had to say yes. Now the real work begins. Senior boy Boss has severe hair loss, brittle nails falling off, an untreated hip injury, and is painfully underweight. Bradford, the loving pitbull, has blistering skin infections and recently tested heartworm positive. Shortly after, the first round of vet visits, Bradford developed a painful hematoma. He is currently receiving emergency care to combat infection. They survived 12 days alone. They survived losing their person. They survived the shelter. Now they need medical care, heartworm treatment, pain management, and time to heal. Please donate today to help Bradford and Boss start over. Every dollar brings them closer to comfort, stability, and the second chance they deserve. Let’s not let their story end in heartbreak. 6/23/26 Update: Bradford has joined another rescue group Bradford has joined another Rescue. He found himself in doggy jail and unfortunately could no longer stay at his current foster residence.

Heidi
Help Heidi Beat the Odds
Maryland Hgts, MO • On My Way to Furever Rescue
This petite, 5 year-old German Shepherd has already survived more than most dogs ever should. For years, Heidi lived on a cold concrete slab, used only for breeding litter after litter of puppies. When she was no longer profitable, she was discarded and scheduled to be euthanized. OMWTF stepped in, even knowing the odds. Bigger dogs. Black dogs. Dogs who are no longer puppies. They’re often overlooked. Still, we believed what we know to be true: Heidi deserves to live. She deserves love. When she first arrived in foster care, Heidi was timid and unsure. The world had not been kind to her. Every new space felt like a threat. But over the past six months, something beautiful has happened. Heidi now sleeps curled up on a warm, soft bed. She joyfully romps and plays with other dogs. She welcomes affection. The frightened breeding dog has blossomed into a companion. She has overcome so much. Yet one painful reminder of her past remains. Years of neglect have taken a serious toll on Heidi’s teeth. Heavy plaque coats them, and several of her bottom teeth have turned black. The damage is more than cosmetic, it’s painful. Our veterinarian says she urgently needs a full dental cleaning under sedation to relieve her discomfort and help save her teeth. After everything Heidi has endured, she deserves to live without pain. Will you help us give this sweet girl the healthy smile she’s never had? Your gift will go directly toward Heidi’s dental procedure, easing her pain and protecting her health. Together, we can make sure the rest of Heidi’s life is filled with warmth, safety, and comfort.

Rigby
Rigby is a 13 month old Boston Terrier in Maryland Hgts, MO, who needs $2,000 for DFO, Wedge Recession, TTT-Correct High Grade MPL.
Maryland Hgts, MO • On My Way to Furever Rescue
Baby Rigby joined On My Way to Furever Rescue in December 2024. He was born at a puppymill and would have been euthanized as he could not be sold, due to his condition. Rigby has been in a wonderful foster home, being treated for several conditions since his arrival. Rigby's life matters to us and he requires a very detailed and expensive surgery to correct his defective leg. Rigby has already been seen by our Rescue Vets at Advantage Veterinarian Hospital in High Ridge, Mo. He had a horrible skin condition which required medicated daily baths and special foods to try and pinpoint the cause. Thank goodness for his foster mom, he's not had any reoccurring issues in months. Rigby also, has totally lost his sight in one eye, his eye suffered a puncture at the puppymill. Rigby is a precious little guy, he has the best attitude and personality, despite his handicaps. He tries to play with the fosters resident dogs and enjoys a good bark at the kitties. He's never met a stranger. Even the staff at the Orthopedic Surgeon's rave about his sweet demeanor. Rigby has surgery scheduled for Oct 21st at Veterinarian Orthopedic Surgery Center in Wentzville, Mo. We are a very small foster based rescue near St.Louis, Mo and recently spent over 5k on two young Cocker Spaniel brothers that needed extensive eye surgeries. Actually 3 surgeries apiece for eye correction. Rigby is such a loving little boy and we are praying for help.
