Aries
Aries is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Springdale, PA, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization, Amputation and Blood Transfusion.
Springdale, PA • Paws Across Pittsburgh
Aries is a 5 year old kitty who came to us when his owners could not afford to get him the veterinary care that he needed. They decided the best option was to surrender him as they knew they couldn't get him the care that he desperately needed. He is currently residing in one of our loving foster homes. Aries came to us with a wound on his paw that would not stop bleeding. He became severely anemic and needed to be hospitalized at Blue Pearl Pittsburgh North. After many inconclusive tests, the doctors decided to amputate his toe, which stopped the bleeding. He also needed blood transfusions due to the anemia. We are monitoring him closely, but he has good prognosis with continued supportive care. Aries is a super sweet kitty who loves attention and wants to be near his humans at all times. He is very social and enjoys being around other kitties. Despite all of his struggles, he is a purring machine and loves to rub up against his foster mom for head scratches. He is a wonderful example of the resilience of cats. As a nonprofit rescue, we rely solely on donations to fund our medical bills. We will never turn away an animal due to a medical issue or cost. We will do anything we can to raise the funds needed for their care. We believe every animal deserves a chance!

Springdale, PA • Paws Across Pittsburgh
Donkey is a sweet older guy who was found tied up outside of a Dollar General. We believe he was dumped by his previous owners because he is a perfectly trained and extremely sweet dog. Donkey was taken to the local shelter where no one claimed him. Because of his age and medical condition, Paws Across Pittsburgh stepped in to bring this sweet guy to Pittsburgh to get him into a foster home. Donkey was found to have Lyme disease which is very painful for his joints. He is being treated with antibiotics. He was also found to be heartworm positive. The treatment for heartworm is lengthy and expensive. He must undergo injections Donkey is a sweet boy who absolutely loves children. He will take all the hugs you will give! He also loves his kitty foster siblings. He loves to talk and play with his foster dog brothers too. He's just the best dog who will make someone very happy when he goes to his forever home! As a nonprofit, we rely on donations to help animals in need. We never turn away an animal because their medical treatment will be costly. We do whatever we need to do to help them get healthy and find a forever home. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Flora
Flora is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Springdale, PA, who needs $1,500 for Urgent Care.
Springdale, PA • Paws Across Pittsburgh
Paws Across Pittsburgh saved many cats from a hoarding house of horrors and needs your help. Covered in urine and feces, extremely thin, experiencing respiratory issues, and suffering from severe dental disease, Flora and many others were in rough shape and desperately needed help. "An elderly homeowner had been caring for a large number of cats in her home for years," Jackie A., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "She had reached out to some larger organizations for assistance this year but did not have a good experience and gave up on trying." The woman’s family discovered how dire the situation was and contacted Paws Across Pittsburgh for help. "We visited the home with representatives from two other rescue groups where we found approximately 40 cats living in horrific conditions," Jackie says. "The main floor of the home and most of the kitties were covered in feces and urine. Many appeared sick or injured." Paws Across Pittsburgh took in some of the cats who needed the most help, like Flora. The rescue is desperately trying to raise money for Flora and the other cats they saved. All the medical bills the organization will incur are a substantial financial undertaking. Will you help them make it through this crisis? "We cannot thank our amazing supporters enough for their generosity and kindness," Jackie says. "Your support means the world to us and to cats like Flora."
