Someone Set Chico on Fire and Left Him to Die — Help Save His Life

Spanaway, WA • Protect Animals Worldwide

Chico’s body was engulfed in flames, and whoever did this to him simply walked away. This helpless donkey was left screaming in agony, suffering unimaginable burns and pain until a desperate call for help brought him to safety. When we reached Chico, the damage was devastating. His body was covered in severe burns and open wounds. Even breathing causes him pain. He can barely move, is dangerously dehydrated, severely anemic, and physically exhausted from fighting to survive. And heartbreakingly, the fire was not the only sign of suffering. Veterinarians discovered old injuries, chronic neglect, and a previously broken tail that healed improperly—proof that Chico has endured cruelty for far too long. Right now, Chico is receiving emergency veterinary care including IV fluids, pain medication, antibiotics, wound treatment, ozone therapy, bandage changes, and constant monitoring. His burns require repeated daily treatment, and his recovery will take weeks to months of intensive medical support. Without this care, Chico will not survive. We are a small 501(c)(3) rescue with no government funding, and the cost of saving Chico is far beyond what we can manage alone. Please help us give Chico a chance to heal from the unimaginable. Your donation will provide: ❤️ emergency wound care ❤️ medications and pain relief ❤️ hydration and nutritional support ❤️ ongoing veterinary treatment The person who hurt Chico may never face justice, but together we can make sure Chico knows compassion instead of cruelty. Please donate today to help save Chico’s life.
