Joey
Joey needs your help recovering from amputation surgery.
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Joey's future is brighter today because compassionate people chose to give him a chance. This tiny kitten—originally thought to be a little girl named Josie but now known as Joey—was found with part of his leg cut off. He already came through his amputation surgery with flying colors. At just 10 weeks old and weighing only 2 pounds, he's already overcome more than most animals ever should. He's still hospitalized, but if everything continues to go well, he'll be heading to his foster home tomorrow. His injured leg has been removed, and thanks to IV antibiotics, pain medication, and exceptional veterinary care, Joey is already feeling better. While some questioned whether such a small kitten should undergo a major surgery, our answer was simple: if there was a chance for him to live a happy, pain-free life, then he deserved that chance. Joey won't remember the pain that brought him here. What he'll remember is a future filled with love, safety, and the freedom to run and play on three legs. His life matters, and because of caring supporters like you, he now has the opportunity to live the long, wonderful life he deserves. We're asking for your help to cover Joey's surgery, hospitalization, medications, and continued recovery. Every donation helps us keep fighting for animals who have no voice and no one else to stand up for them. Thank you for believing, as we do, that every life is worth saving.

Parker
Parker is a 9 month old Mix-Breed in Burns, TN, who needs $2,000 for Thoracentesis and supportive care for pyometria.
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Parker was living in a colony of cats cared for by a compassionate community member, who noticed she wasn’t feeling well and reached out to our volunteers for help. After spending nearly two hours carefully trapping her, we were able to get Parker to the vet for urgent care. At just about 9 months old, Parker was diagnosed with pyometra—a life-threatening uterine infection caused by not being spayed. She had pus draining from her vulva and required immediate surgery. On Monday, she underwent an emergency spay to remove the infected uterus. Unfortunately, Parker has had a difficult recovery. She wasn’t improving as expected, and further diagnostics revealed a pneumothorax—air trapped in her chest cavity—along with ongoing infection related to the pyometra. Despite antibiotics, she has been running a high fever of around 105°F throughout the week. Based on our trusted veterinarians’ recommendations, Parker has been transferred for specialized care. She is currently hospitalized, receiving a thoracentesis to remove the air from her chest, along with IV antibiotics and pain management. Despite everything she’s been through, Parker has been incredibly sweet and loving. Everyone who has met her has commented on her gentle, affectionate nature. She truly deserves this chance to live, and we remain hopeful and optimistic about her recovery.

Ryan
Found Severely Injured & Struggling to Breathe, Ryan Needs Emergency Surgery for Diaphragmatic Hernia & Tail Amputation
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Ryan’s Medical Journey Ryan is a young rescue kitten who initially came into our care with a traumatic tail injury after being found outdoors. While receiving treatment, he began experiencing severe weight loss and labored breathing. Diagnostic testing and imaging ultimately revealed the cause: a diaphragmatic hernia, a life-threatening condition in which abdominal organs had moved into his chest cavity, compressing his lungs. Ryan underwent emergency surgery to repair the hernia. During the procedure, his stomach, spleen, a majority of his liver, and a portion of his small intestine were carefully removed from his thoracic cavity and repositioned into the abdomen. The defect in his diaphragm was surgically repaired. Additionally, the necrotic portion of his tail was amputated to prevent further infection and complications. Following surgery, Ryan experienced an elevated heart rate and required transfer to emergency care for intensive monitoring during the critical first 48 hours of recovery. He successfully made it through this high-risk period and was discharged to foster care under strict crate rest and close observation. Since then, Ryan has continued to steadily improve. His breathing has stabilized, his strength is returning, and he is showing his affectionate, social personality — soaking up attention and thriving in a safe, loving environment. Ryan’s prognosis is cautiously optimistic, and continued supportive care will ensure he has the best possible chance at a full recovery and a healthy future. 8/12/26 Update We are thrilled to share the happy ending Ryan always deserved. He has made a full recovery, regained his strength, and is now thriving. Even better, Ryan has been adopted and is in a loving forever home. We couldn't have done it without you!

Wisp
Left In the Summer Heat: Wisp Needs You
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Meet the cutest little kitten named Wisp. He was found in the dreadful summer heat by a dedicated TNR volunteer in East Nashville. His mom was nowhere to be seen, and he looked to be in rough shape, sitting with his head down but running for cover every time the trapper got close. He was eventually cornered under a trash can and taken to the vet for a check-up. When he got there, it was discovered that Wisp was in even worse shape than previously thought. He was emaciated, covered in fleas that were slowly draining him of life, and to add insult to injury, his coat was infested with fly eggs that were already starting to hatch into maggots. Vet staff quickly stepped into action, giving him several baths and gently combing out the fleas and fly eggs, a process that took over 4 hours. During his exam, they also found that he has a congenital deformity called pectus excavatum. Now that Wisp is on the mend from his time outside, this rescue's next step is addressing this condition. Even though Wisp is tiny and had all the odds stacked against him, he fiercely wants to live, so with lots of care (and snacks), he has almost doubled in weight! He has begun to play and is loving all of the attention from his foster mom. Can you please help Proverbs 12:10 provide the best care for Wisp on his recovery journey? Thank you!

Simone
Help 4-Month-Old Simone Heal After Leg Amputation
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Simone is an absolute doll baby who will steal your heart in an instant. She will reach up for you to love on her any chance she gets. As much as she loves frolicking in the yard and soaking up her surroundings, this sweet Great Pyrenees mix really enjoys a good nap on a cool spot in the kitchen. Despite a unique leg injury that occurred either at birth or very early on, Simone gets around just fine and doesn’t let it slow her down one bit. In fact, she uses her little paw to wave at people, and it’s the cutest thing! While her leg won’t grow as she does, it doesn’t stop her from living her best puppy life. The veterinarian that Proverbs uses recommended amputation at 16 weeks (or earlier if needed), and even though Simone has since been adopted, Proverbs agreed to cover the cost of her surgery and spay at Cornerstone Animal Hospital. Simone is going to be a big girl full of love as she grows, and she’s already learning all the puppy basics. She’s working on crate training, taking frequent potty breaks, and will thrive with a family who can provide patience, grace, and lots of love. This precious girl is already turning out to be a loyal and loving companion. Thank you for your support!

Amelia
Help Amelia Make a Full Recovery from Her Life-Saving Surgery
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Amelia is a special kitten with a rare and serious medical condition called pectus excavatum, or "funnel chest." This congenital defect causes a malformed chest wall, leading to difficulty breathing, exercise intolerance, weight loss, and even life-threatening complications. Amelia’s chest was sunken, making it hard for her tiny body to get the oxygen it needed. Thanks to the incredible team at Blue Pearl, Amelia underwent life-saving surgery on December 30th. A custom fiberglass splint was placed on her chest to reshape her ribcage and give her lungs the room they need to function properly. Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue was thrilled to share that Amelia responded beautifully to the procedure. Just one day after her surgery, she was already soaking up love from her foster mom. Amelia still has a recovery journey ahead, and the cost of her surgery and care is significant. Your support makes it possible for rescues to help kittens like Amelia not only survive but thrive. Please consider donating today to give Amelia a full chance at a healthy and happy life. Every dollar truly makes a difference. The smile on her face says it all. Thank you!

Biscuit
Biscuit is a 1-year-old Domestic Medium Hair Cat in Burns, TN, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.
Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue
Biscuit is a forever foster who was pulled from a local animal shelter in December 2022 with suspected Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Over the past few months, she has become more wobbly and her neurologic symptoms are worsening. Miss Biscuit has a job! She goes to work with her foster everyday to provide comfort and joy to the employees at a fast paced spay/neuter clinic. She lets anyone hold her bops around the clinic. Although, she is a bit wobbly. Biscuit loves everyone she meets. She wobbles when she walks and sometimes falls over. She exudes joy and happiness. You can't help but feel better when you hold her. You can feel her love. We have been working her up with blood tests and medication trials, but have not found the answers we are looking for to explain her symptoms. These include repeat testing/treatment for toxoplasmosis and neurologic Feline Infectious Peritonitis. We have also started her in a rehab program. Now that we have exhausted more conservative measures without answers, she is headed for a Neurology consult. Biscuit is so precious and beloved! I would really like to give her the best life and diagnose what is ailing her. We need $4100 for neurology testing which includes MRI and testing for metabolic diseases.

We pulled Liam from Metro Animal Control last year. He had a gruesome injury which the vets who cared for him believe was deliberately inflicted. Liam’s penis was completely pulled from the sheath. It was horrific.( pictures below) It took four surgeries and months of care to repair this unimaginable injury; through it all, Liam was angelic. We were elated when one of our fosters decided to adopt This is one of our foster homes. Liam is a boy we rescued. He is headed to NVS and will be in an oxygen tent for quite sometime. Donations appreciated. “I had a house fire this morning. Please pray for Liam as he is critical. Frankie ( the small one) is doing okay she will stay overnight for observation, but Liam needs all the prayers as he will need to be in a oxygen tent for a week. This dog Liam, who survived the house fire yesterday, is stable, but still is in an oxygen tent and has nasal tube for oxygen as well. It looks like he will be hospitalized another three days.
