🌿 Meet Maple 🌿

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

The other week, a very special rescue quietly made its way to Reba's. Maple arrived pregnant and heartworm positive, needing a safe place to rest and prepare for her puppies. Shortly after, she delivered eight beautiful, healthy pups and is already proving to be the most devoted mama. Her little forest of babies includes: Boxelder Vernon Douglas Willoughby Red Norway Hawthorne And Juniper, the only girl Right now, Maple’s job is simple: rest, recover, and care for her babies. Once the puppies are weaned, she will begin the heartworm treatment needed to live a long and healthy life. Caring for a mama and eight newborn puppies takes a village. If you'd like to help support Maple and her little forest of pups, please donate today. Any amount no matter the size makes a huge difference. Thank you!

Spay & Neuter

Reba's Animal Rescue needs your help with spay and neuter costs.

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Every day, rescue dogs arrive with stories we may never fully know. Some were found wandering the streets. Some were surrendered when their families could no longer care for them. Some were born into litters that never should have happened in the first place. They all have one thing in common: they deserve a future that looks different from their past. Spay and neuter is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to change that future. A single surgery prevents countless unwanted litters, reduces suffering, and gives each dog a healthier start. It means fewer puppies born into neglect. Fewer mothers exhausted from back-to-back litters. Fewer dogs ending up in overcrowded shelters with no place to go. Right now, many of the rescue dogs in our care are waiting not just for homes—but for the medical care that will make those homes possible. Before they can be adopted, they must be spayed or neutered to ensure they never contribute to the cycle of homelessness again. We are asking for donations to help cover these surgeries. Every contribution goes directly toward veterinary care, giving these dogs a real chance at safe, stable, loving lives. Please help Reba's Animal Rescue give these dogs the future they deserve. With endless gratitude, thank you for sharing your heart. ❤️

Lego

Lego is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in Chesapeake, VA, who needs $1,500 for Amputation, spay, vaccination and recovery.

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Four-month-old Lego was found alone on the roadside, her tiny body trembling and her leg shattered—most likely hit by a car. 💔 Even through the pain, she still purred when someone reached to comfort her. That spark of trust reminded us why we do what we do—because every life deserves a chance to heal and be loved again. Our vet partners at Grant Vet Care evaluated Lego, and determined she needed surgery to stop the pain and give her a real chance at life. Thanks to the quick response of our CARE Fund and the generosity of donors, Lego’s amputation was performed right away. She came through bravely and is already learning to balance, play, and explore again—fearless on three legs and full of heart. Lego’s surgery and recovery are expected to cost around $1,500. After surviving such a traumatic injury, she now needs continued medical care, rest, and love to fully heal. Your support will help cover her surgery expenses, follow-up treatments, and the gentle care that will carry her into a healthy, happy life. Every donation brings her closer to that fresh start she’s fought so hard to earn. 🧡 Your gift doesn’t just help Lego heal—it keeps our mission alive. Every donation strengthens our ability to respond when the next injured or abandoned animal needs urgent care, turning moments of suffering into second chances and hope. 🧡

Help Save Reed! A 5-Month-Old Puppy Who Needs Emergency Surgery

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Reed was rescued by Reba's Animal Rescue from an overcrowded shelter, facing euthanasia for space, and gave him a second chance for love and a fur-ever home. He's just a baby—a 5-month-old Keeshond mix who should be chasing toys, not fighting for his life. But Reed became sick rather suddenly. He stopped eating, began vomiting, and has grown weaker by the hour. After multiple vet visits and testing, his medical team determined he needs emergency exploratory surgery right away to find out what’s wrong and save his life. The estimated cost for surgery is $1,950-$2,050, plus recovery needs. We need help to make this surgery possible. Our CARE Fund covers urgent cases like Reed’s, but with so many animals in need, they can’t do it without your support. Their funds are being drained quickly. Reed still has so much life ahead of him! Please help us give him the chance to live it. Every dollar makes a difference toward his surgery, recovery, and finding a forever home. Thank you for your continued support.

This Cutie Needs Your Help Recovering from a Large Hernia

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Meet Jinu! A three-month-old Basset Hound and Brittany Spaniel mix whose whole body seems built for joy, from his floppy ears and soft brown eyes to the way his tail never stops wagging. He’s small, curious, and endlessly playful, the kind of pup who tumbles over his own paws and looks up at you like he meant to do it. While Jinu’s spirit is strong, his little body is facing a serious challenge. During intake we discovered a large abdominal hernia, stretching from his belly button up toward his ribs. It’s a complex condition that requires specialized surgery to repair, as the hernia extends close to his diaphragm and may affect nearby organs. Jinu’s surgery will be performed by Dr. Watson at Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital in Newport News, VA, where he’ll receive the expert care he needs to live a full, active life. Once healed, he’ll be able to run, play, and grow like the happy, goofy pup he’s meant to be. Your donation will help cover the cost of his delicate surgery, follow-up care, and recovery supplies. Every bit of support brings him closer to the life he deserves, pain-free, full of play, and ready to love the family waiting for him. Jinu’s body needs a little fixing, but his heart? It’s already perfect. 4/18/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported sweet Jinu on her healing journey to becoming a happy and healthy adult dog! We are happy to share that she has been adopted into her forever home and is doing great. Her new name is Cider!

Babe and Buster

Please Support Buster's Healing Journey

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Meet Babe and Buster—a sweet, bonded mother-and-son duo rescued from the California wildfires. After surviving so much, they finally found safety at Reba’s Animal Rescue. But now, Buster needs your help to heal. At just 2 years old, Buster lives in daily pain from a severely damaged front leg. Before his rescue, he underwent a failed surgery in Mexico involving an external fixator. That procedure left his right front limb unstable, painful, and unusable. Since arriving at Reba’s, Buster has been non-weight-bearing on that leg. Exams by specialists revealed: Severe joint instability and collapse in his wrist Chronic pain and swelling Progressive knee issues in both back legs (making amputation out of the question) Muscle loss and tightness in several areas due to limited mobility He’s undergoing physical therapy, acupuncture, laser treatment, and electromagnetic therapy (Assisi Loop), all of which are helping with his pain—but they won’t fix the root problem. Specialists recommend carpal arthrodesis, a complex surgery to fuse the bones in his wrist, stabilize the joint, and finally relieve his pain. Without this, his long-term comfort and ability to stay mobile are at serious risk. The cost for surgery, rehab, and ongoing care is estimated up to $10,000. This cost is not easy for a rescue where so many other pets need resources as well. Babe and Buster will only be adopted together—their bond is unbreakable. Your gift will help keep them together and give Buster a real shot at a pain-free, happy life. Please consider supporting his healing journey today.

Lumi

Lumi was born with a rare condition. Will you be her hero?

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

When Lumi was born, her world was already dark, but she never seemed to notice. At just five months old, this tiny kitten moves through life with quiet confidence. She tilts her head when she hears your voice, chases jingling toys by sound, and curls into your hands like she’s known you forever. Lumi was born with a rare condition called severe microphthalmos, which means her eyes never developed properly. She cannot see, and her eyes are very small and hidden beneath her eyelids. Though the condition isn’t painful, it leaves her vulnerable to infection and discomfort as she grows. Lumi is scheduled for a delicate surgery with Grant Veterinary Hospital, to be spayed and remove both eyes. With your help, she can live comfortably and pain-free. She will never gain her sight, but once recovered, she’ll be ready to explore her world by scent and sound, learning her surroundings and melting hearts wherever she goes. This surgery will give Lumi comfort, safety, and freedom. But it comes at a cost. Your donation will help cover her surgical expenses and ongoing care as she heals and prepares for adoption, a forever home that will see her for who she truly is: a tiny beacon of courage. 4/18/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Lumi on her healing journey! We are happy to share that she has been adopted into her forever home, who has renamed her Gracie Mae, and she has a fur sibling who was also born blind. We are thrilled she is now living her best life.

Fallen From a Garbage Truck: Pickles Needs Your Help

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Meet Pickles, a kitten less than two weeks old who was seen falling from the back of a trash truck, tangled among discarded garbage. A Good Samaritan witnessed it, one of those moments that makes your heart stop, and without hesitation, scooped him up and rushed him to us. We don’t know how he ended up there. Maybe his mother gave birth in a dumpster. Maybe someone threw him away. All we know is this: he deserved to be saved. As soon as Pickles arrived, he was rushed to the incredible team at Animal Medical of Chesapeake, who saw him right away and treated his injuries with urgency and compassion. Their swift care helped stabilize him and gave him a fighting chance. We are beyond grateful for their partnership and dedication to animals in crisis. Now, Pickles is recovering in the loving foster care of Reba's Animal Rescue Executive Director, Meagan Goins, where he’s being bottle-fed around the clock and monitored closely. He’s safe. He’s warm. And he’s loved. This is a reminder that animal welfare isn’t always puppy kisses and kitten cuddles. It’s emergency vet runs, 2 a.m. feedings, tears, heartbreak, and hope…sometimes all in the same day. 💔 This is the reality. And it's why we do what we do, and we can't do it without your help. Thank you!
