Dumped, Burning With a Fever, and Fighting to Survive

MORO, OR • Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue

Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue refused to let a ditch become the end of Diezel's story. He was found abandoned in a ditch in 86-degree weather, dehydrated, starving, covered in fleas and ticks, and burning with a dangerous fever of 104.5°F. He was rushed straight to the veterinary hospital, where he received emergency treatment, was started on antibiotics, and was stable enough to return to the rescue. Diezel is a fighter, and everyone caring for him is fighting right alongside him. At his recheck appointment, additional testing revealed intestinal infections and worms, so he received treatment for those as well. Because his little body is still so fragile, his veterinary team is taking things one step at a time. He is scheduled to receive his first round of vaccinations on Saturday, once he's strong enough. He's still unsteady on his feet, but he hasn't stopped trying. Every small step forward is a testament to just how determined this sweet boy is to survive. Diezel still has a long road to recovery, and his medical care is far from over. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue continue providing the treatment he needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps give Diezel the chance to grow stronger and leave this painful chapter behind. \### 7/18/26 Update: Diezel Needs Urgent Help as His Medical Bills Continue to Grow Diezel had to return to the vet yesterday after his fever came back. To help him continue fighting the infection, his veterinary team started him on additional antibiotics and took X-rays of his swollen leg. Thankfully, nothing is broken. However, the X-rays showed inflammation and fluid around his ankle. To give it the best chance to heal and prevent further injury, his leg has been placed in a cast. Even with this encouraging news, Diezel still has a long road ahead. In just one week, his veterinary expenses have already reached $500, and that doesn't include the puppy vaccinations and additional medical care he'll still need as he grows. At only 5 to 6 weeks old, Diezel has had an incredibly difficult start to life. Along with his ongoing medical treatment, the rescue is also providing everything a growing puppy needs, including food, milk replacer, enrichment, and other special supplies to help him thrive. The costs are adding up quickly, and the rescue's resources are being stretched thin. If you're able to help, your donation will make a real difference in giving this little fighter the care he needs to continue healing. \### 7/29/26 Update: Great News From Diezel's Latest Vet Visit! Diezel went back to the vet for follow up bloodwork to make sure his elevated white blood cell count was coming down, and we have wonderful news... it did! This is a huge milestone in his recovery. Because his bloodwork has improved, Diezel is now healthy enough to receive his puppy vaccinations and can begin getting ready to search for the forever home he deserves. While we're celebrating this progress, his care isn't over yet. Between his vaccinations and the ongoing costs of raising a growing puppy, the expenses continue to add up. Caring for a baby in rescue hasn't been easy, but seeing how far Diezel has come has made every challenge worthwhile. Thank you for cheering him on and helping make his recovery possible. \### 8/2/26 Update: From Barely Hanging On to Thriving Just a few weeks ago, Diezel was fighting for his life. He was found at only 5 weeks old with a dangerously high fever of 104.8°F, weak, dehydrated, and barely hanging on. Today, he's almost unrecognizable. Diezel now weighs 13.7 pounds, is growing fast, and is finally getting to enjoy being a happy puppy. He loves to run, play with the other dogs, and has even figured out how to use the dog door so he can join everyone outside. Watching him gain confidence and energy has been incredible. Although Diezel is doing so much better, his journey isn't over. His veterinary bill has already reached $513.18, and he still needs his puppy vaccinations and neuter surgery before he's ready for adoption. Thankfully, the rescue already has a microchip ready for him. Between his medical expenses and the cost of feeding a growing puppy, the rescue is running low on funds. If you're able to help, your support will go directly toward giving Diezel everything he needs to continue healing and find the loving forever home he's been waiting for.

Tiny Lives Counting on You: Help Our Kittens Thrive

MORO, OR • Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue

Every day, the phone rings with another animal in need. Every day, Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is faced with another heartbreaking decision. They keep saying "yes." But they can't keep doing it alone. This kitten season has been one of the hardest the rescue has ever experienced. They are caring for vulnerable kittens, including some that are still very feral and require extra time, patience, and specialized care before they'll ever know the comfort of a loving home. Then, without warning, someone abandoned a frightened mama cat and her three babies right on the rescue's doorstep. As if that wasn't enough, another mama cat gave birth at the rescue, welcoming five beautiful kittens into the world. With every new arrival, the rescue's food costs, supply needs, and veterinary bills continue to grow. What started as an already difficult kitten season has quickly become overwhelming. The costs are staggering. A single growing kitten can eat two to three cans of wet food every day. As more kittens arrive, the amount of food needed grows just as quickly. Then come the veterinary bills, including wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, medications, emergency care, and eventually spay and neuter surgeries for every kitten when they are old enough. On top of kitten season, the rescue is already carrying significant veterinary expenses for the many animals currently in their care. Every new arrival means more medical bills, more supplies, and more lives relying on a small rescue that refuses to turn animals away simply because funds are low. Today, Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is asking for your help. Your donation will help provide: \\- Veterinary care for kittens, cats, and dogs - Wet food and kitten food for growing babies - Formula and supplies for young kittens when needed - Vaccinations and routine medical care - Spay and neuter surgeries - Care and socialization for feral kittens - Food and daily care for every animal at the rescue Every dollar helps. Every donation gives Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue the ability to answer the next call for help instead of having to turn an animal away. If you have ever wanted to make a difference in the life of a homeless animal, this is your chance. Together, we can turn a season of overwhelming need into a season of hope, healing, and second chances. 7/4/26 Update: We Need Help To Help These Kittens The good news is that their mom has been safely trapped, spayed, and returned to her outdoor home, helping prevent even more kittens from being born. Now our focus is on these little ones. They're growing like weeds, which means they're eating more every day and will soon need their vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries. The costs add up quickly, and we simply can't do it alone. Kitten season is here, and as a newer rescue that just celebrated our first year as a 501(c)(3), we're still building the resources needed to keep up with the overwhelming demand for lifesaving veterinary care. We're asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide these kittens with the medical care they need to grow up healthy and gives us the ability to continue saying "yes" to animals who have nowhere else to turn. 7/12/26 Update: we need help to help these kittens As the kittens are getting older, we are scheduling their spay/neuter appointments. however because of all the shots and vet visits we have done funding is a issue to pay for these poor babies to get their spay and neuter appointments. we have had more kittens and 3 abandoned dogs (one being a 5 week old puppy) join the rescue, this has caused a huge issue with the vet bills and our funding we are struggling with keeping up with the vet bills and food for everyone. to put it simply we need help to be able to help these poor babies. please if you can help we would greatly appreciate it if not we also understand and ask that you please share our plea. 7/19/26 Update: these babies need to get fixed All these babies are getting older and we need to get them spayed/neutered, however we dont have the funds to do this. we just did all their shots and deworming and need help to help these babies and others without the help of you we can no longer take on any more. 7/29/26 Update: one down 5 to go we got one of these babies neutered however we need help with the rest of them, we have received 75.50 for these 6 babies and that didnt even cover the one neuter and shots we cant do this without your help. please help us help them 8/9/26 Update: While we have only received 25.00 we got them shots all the kittens have received their shots and deworming, however they all need to be fixed and we do not have the funds to do this. we need your help to help these babies. we know times are hard and ask that everyone please share our fundraiser so we can help these babies. they will all need to be fixed before they go to their furever homes

Help Pregnant Lily & Boots Heal After Being Abandoned

MORO, OR • Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue

Every rescue has a story, but some stories are harder to hear than others. Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue recently took in two young dogs, Boots and Lily, after they were abandoned. Their case is now part of an ongoing court investigation involving possible abuse and neglect, which means the information/photos/videos the rescue can share is limited at this time. What they are able to share is that these two innocent dogs desperately need help. Boots and Lily are only about one year old, and both arrived at the rescue underweight, covered in ticks, and for Lily, despite how skinny she is, pregnant. Instead of knowing love and security, they've experienced neglect. Now, they're finally safe. But their journey to recovery is just beginning. Boots, an intact male, needs a complete veterinary exam and neuter surgery. Lily's situation is even more urgent. She is fully pregnant, and just three days into her care, over $500 was spent on emergency veterinary care to ensure both Lily and her unborn puppies have a fighting chance. Teresa's Cat and Dog Rescue is a small rescue doing everything possible to save animals with nowhere else to turn. They didn't hesitate to take Boots and Lily in, even knowing the enormous financial burden ahead, because these dogs deserved a chance at life. Now they're asking for help. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward giving Boots, Lily, and Lily's puppies the medical care, nourishment, and safety they deserve. Boots and Lily have already survived abandonment and neglect. Together, we can make sure their future is filled with hope instead of hardship. Please donate today and help us give this little family the second chance they've been waiting for. 7/2/26 Update We have a difficult update to share about Lily. After further evaluation by the veterinary team, it was determined that Lily's puppies are no longer alive. She has been started on antibiotics and is scheduled for surgery on Monday morning to remove the deceased puppies and to be spayed. According to the veterinarian, this tragic outcome was likely caused by a combination of severe neglect and the fact that Lily became pregnant by her brother before they were rescued. At only about a year old, her body has already been through far more than any dog should have to endure. Right now, our focus is on saving Lily's life and giving her the opportunity to recover. She has already survived so much, and she deserves the chance to heal. Unfortunately, this emergency surgery and her continued veterinary care come at a significant cost, and Boots also still needs to be neutered and receive his vaccinations. If you're able to help, no donation is too small. Every contribution goes directly toward Lily's surgery, medications, recovery, and Boots' veterinary care. If donating isn't possible, sharing this campaign with others can make a meaningful difference. Lily and Boots have already endured so much. With your support, they can finally begin the safe and healthy lives they deserve. 7/6/26 Update: Lily Had Her Surgery Today!!!! Lily had her surgery today, and when we picked her up, we learned the total bill came to $513. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we received $300 in donations, but we still have $213 remaining to pay for her care. As if that weren't enough, Lily's brother has a veterinary appointment on the 9th for his wellness exam and vaccinations. His estimated bill is $189, and right now, we simply don't have the funds to cover it. These sweet siblings never should have been in this situation. They were abandoned and left for dead, and we stepped in to give them the chance they deserved. Their former owners are now facing charges, and we've been told restitution may be ordered, but we also know there's no guarantee we'll ever receive those funds. We need your help to continue caring for Lily and her brother and to prepare them for the loving forever homes they deserve. We recently celebrated our first year as a rescue, and while we've accomplished so much, we're still building the resources needed to handle unexpected medical expenses like these. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a real difference for animals like Lily and her brother. Please consider donating today and helping us give these innocent babies the happy future they've been waiting for. 7/10/26 Update Boots is making progress, and we wanted to share a quick update with everyone who has been following his journey. This week, Boots went to the veterinarian and received his vaccines, bringing him one step closer to the next stage of his care. His neuter surgery is now being scheduled, but the rescue received difficult news. The procedure is expected to cost approximately $600, and they simply don't have the funds to cover it on their own. Your generosity has already helped Boots get this far, and we're so grateful. As he gets ready for surgery, your continued support can help ensure he receives the care he needs without adding even more financial strain to the rescue. Thank you for standing by Boots every step of the way. Every donation and every share brings him closer to the healthy future he deserves. 7/17/26 Update: Boots and Lily had court today Today was supposed to be Boots and Lily's first day in court in their abandonment case, However (to noones surprise) the people who abandoned them NEVER showed up. we will still fight for them. while Lily is healing very well from her surgery, her brother Boots has his neuter appointment on July 30th 2026. we are struggling to meet all our vet bills right now and are coming up very short any help would be greatly appreciated 7/29/26 Update: boots needs help getting neutered Boots is due in for surgery tomorrow at 745am, to get neutered. we have 100.00 of the 175 needed for his surgery. we need help getting this bog boy neutered. 8/9/26 Update: Boots got neutered While we went ahead and got Boots neutered, we did not have all the funds for his surgery. we are struggling with the three abandoned dogs their vetting has cost us upwards of $3000.00 with only about 600.00 in donations. needless to say we need help, we can not save these babies without you and your help.
