Harlequin
Harlequin needs your help.
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
Harlequin was found outside cold, wet, limping, and struggling to breathe. Though she was living as a feral cat, she turned out to be an incredibly sweet and friendly cat who clearly needed help. A Good Samaritan took her in and did everything she could, but Harlequin was still wheezing, had a large lump on her knee, and wasn’t feeling any better, so Whiskers Rescue stepped in to get him the care she desperately needed. Harlequin was recently seen at Twin Oaks Veterinary Hospital by Dr. Schuler, who examined her under anesthesia. Thankfully, no polyps were found, but heartbreakingly, they discovered BB gun pellets in one of his front paws, leading the team to believe Harlequin may have been used for target practice. We truly cannot understand how anyone could be so cruel. Bloodwork and a fecal test were also done, and her kidney values came back slightly abnormal. Harlequin is now on Veraflox and Famciclovir to help make breathing easier, but depending on how she responds, she may still need a culture sensitivity test and/or CT scan. So far, Harlequin’s vet care has totaled $820, and we are asking for help covering these costs so we can continue getting her the treatment she needs. Harlequin has already endured so much, and we want to give this sweet girl the chance to finally feel safe, comfortable, and healthy. If you’re able to donate toward Harlequin’s care, we would be so grateful. Every dollar helps us continue fighting for her.

Tux
Tux desperately needs your help.
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
Meet Tux. He was trapped by his now owner in Bayonne, NJ. She had used one of Whiskers Rescue's spay/neuter vouchers as he was part of a colony she was trapping for TNR. He is very friendly, so she had no problem bringing him indoors. But he has had multiple issues with urinary crystals, so she brought him to a discounted vet for an initial assessment due to limited funding. When Tux’s condition got even worse, she called Whiskers Rescue to ask for their assistance. At that point, Tux was barely urinating and it was bloody. The vet told her if it happens again he will need PU. The owner worked with Whiskers Rescue to find a vet who would work with us regarding pricing and payment. Due to her diligence, the owner found a vet in Pennsylvania, and she was willing to make the drive to get him treated quickly. The vet did x-rays and found crystals and large clots in his bladder. Tux needed not only a PU but also a cystotomy to empty his bladder of clots and sand. Tux was initially sent home wearing an e-collar, which he chose to use to scratch at his incision sites—causing massive irritation and torn sutures. So the second visit ended up being to repair those incision sites. Once the cone issue was resolved, he then discovered a way to scratch the site yet again using an element of his cage, which became visit number three to the vet. With already three visits and counting to the vet, Whiskers Rescues is doing everything they can to help Tux get the medical attention he needs and deserves. The bills are stacking up quickly, and the owner and Whiskers Rescue desperately need your help to give Tux the best care possible. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will go directly toward paying his bills. Thank you! 6/19/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Tux on his healing journey. Thanks to you, he has made a full recovery and is doing great in his home. We greatly appreciate the continued love and support.

TNR
TNR is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Sayreville, NJ, who needs $2,500 for TNR.
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
This year has been one of the most productive—and most inspiring—in Whiskers Rescue, Inc.’s history. Every day, they witness the quiet heroes who care for feral cats, the determined citizens eager to learn TNVR, and the compassionate supporters who make this work possible. Together, we’ve transformed suffering into safety, chaos into compassion, and colonies into thriving communities. But behind every success is a story—and behind every story is someone like you who chooses to help. 🐾 225 spay/neuter vouchers provided this fiscal year—preventing countless litters from being born into hardship. 🐾 Ongoing medical care for cats altered through our voucher program—because TNVR doesn’t stop at surgery; these cats deserve ongoing support. 🐾 40 humane traps available to loan and purchase as demand skyrocketed—empowering more residents to safely trap for TNVR than ever before. 🐾 Statewide advocacy across New Jersey, meeting with towns to show what functional TNVR programs look like and how to update ordinances to require TNVR. 🐾 Collaboration with state representatives on proposed legislation A4898, working toward sustainable, humane solutions for feral cat populations statewide. This is real progress. This is lifesaving work, but Whiskers Rescue is never done. Every voucher, every trap loan, every medical case, every meeting with lawmakers — it all takes time, commitment, and funding. Please donate, share, and help Whiskers Rescue continue this vital work. Your compassion is the reason this mission moves forward—and the reason so many cats now have a better life. 6/19/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported these sweet kitties so they could get spayed and neutered. We are grateful for the continued love and support for our mission and for helping as many animals in need as possible.

Apartment Fire Cat
Apartment Fire Cat is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Sayreville, NJ, who needs $2,000 for treatment.
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
When first responders arrived at a burning apartment building, they found more than just a family in crisis—they discovered 13 cats, each one frightened, injured, and clinging to life. Thanks to Whiskers Rescue, Inc. and the compassionate team at VEG in Clifton, NJ, those 13 cats received the emergency care they so desperately needed. Most of them had to be hospitalized but have since been released. The last two cats that were hospitalized were in critical condition and not doing well, and Whiskers Rescue made the wise decision to keep them one more night at the emergency vet, which brought the bill to $14,000. All 13 cats are safe and now recovering with their family and a friend of theirs who fosters animals. However, for Whiskers Rescue, vet bills are still unpaid and supplies are running low. The emotional toll on this family, who just lost their home, along with their beloved cats, and Whiskers Rescue is enormous. We need your help. Every dollar you donate goes directly toward covering medical costs, food, and continued care for these 13 lives. No amount is too small. Please donate today to give them the future they deserve. Thank you! 6/19/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported these sweet babies after this tragic fire. They have all made an incredible recovery. Some have now found their forever homes, while the owner decided to keep the others.

Clover
Clover is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Sayreville, NJ, who needs $430 for Spay and Appetite Stimulant.
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
Clover is one of our feral spay/neuter voucher recipients who we discovered also additional health concerns. Whiskers Rescue partnered with the caregiver to ensure she receives the vital veterinary care to help her return to health. Clover was brought to Summit Dog & Cat Hospital where she received x-rays in addition to her spay to ensure it was safe to proceed. She has also had subsequent, additional veterinary care and is currently receiving an appetite stimulant to encourage her to eat her normal rations. While Clover is feral, she is allowing her caregiver to apply her transdermal medication-- an extraordinary level of tolerance for a cat in her situation. Clover has required care at a private veterinary clinic, which is traditionally more costly than typical spay/neuter clinics. Being able to provide this next level of care is critical but not possible without the public's support.

Preciousa
Cat Needs Emergency Care After Apartment Fire
Sayreville, NJ • Whiskers Rescue, Inc.
Preciousa is a friendly cat who was found wandering the city streets with her kittens. Whiskers Rescue provided a TNR voucher to her caretaker, who ended up adopting her. In this city, if you feed cats, they are considered owned and will not be picked up as stray, so she adopted mom but was unable to find homes for her babies. On the night of July 5th tragedy struck for a family who was caught with 13 other cats in an apartment fire. Preciousa suffered from inhalation burns, smoke inhalation, and related neurological issues. She spent days at VEG in Clifton NJ on oxygen. Preciousa is not just owned by one woman but an entire family with four children who love her dearly. She is out of emergency care but will require follow up care. Your donation — no matter the amount — helps cover her medication, vet visits, and daily care. Whiskers Rescue focuses on TNVR; however, they always try to support "Feral Fixers" when emergencies arise. With no other help coming and the family left on the side of the street with 13 cats and four children, they couldn't turn away. They were there to help. Now they need yours--will you open your heart to this precious cat?
