Gypsy aka Hua pronounced Who-A
Gypsy aka Hua pronounced Who-A is a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix in South Bend, IN, who needs $1,223 for treatment for periodontal disease and a nail removal procedure.
SOUTH BEND, IN
Gypsy is a Chiweenie we adopted 6yrs ago from a rescue that had taken her from a shelter where she spent 3 months hunkered in the corner of a cage. She's incredibly loving, hilariously funny, and the best doghter in the world. I can't imagine my life without her. She is my constant companion and is always lays up against my legs, the entire night while we sleep.
Nova
Nova is a 3-year-old American PitBull Terrier in Spanaway, WA, who needs $3,100 for chemotherapy treatment.
Spanaway, WA
Nova was born April 4, 2016 and we got to watch her through photos from the day she was born because one of my closest friends owned her dad. When I took the kids to meet the puppies and my kids instantly fell in love. My daughter felt it was a sign because her birthday is April 6th - they were soul mates. All 3 of my kids begged to adopt her and even contributed their own money for her adoption fee. Her litter name was Nova and we kept it because you couldn't deny that she is a bright little star, Nova also means "new" and she was a new beginning for our family. When Nova was 10 weeks old, we all took a beach trip to Ocean Shores and that is when we brought Nova home. Nova Bear immediately fit in to our family. I thought my daughter was being dramatic when she pleaded for a puppy to help with her anxiety but once Nova came home they spent all of their time together. Shaelyn spent time teaching Nova tricks and having photo shoots. In that time, Shaelyn's stomach aches almost completely went away. Her anixety and depression improved immensely. Nova has been my daughter's best friend ever since to the point that the boys would have to be sneaky to get their chance to sleep with Nova in their rooms. The boys love to take her to play outside but they hate that she refuses to fetch, she thinks no one is her boss so once you throw the ball, it's hers till she decides otherwise. My dad thought we were crazy when we brought her home but she has even grown on him. She gets so excited when he comes over and he constantly tells me what a good girl she is. As the kids got older, we thought Nova needed a playmate so we got our second dog Moose. He loves her and doesn't even know what to do with himself if she leaves the room - she is definitely the alpha and loves to remind him, even while she is fighting cancer. They love to wrestle, they love to cuddle, and they love road trips. Shaelyn is getting ready to go to college and was excited about looking into places she is able to bring Nova as her emotion support pet right before we got the diagnosis and the thought of starting her next chapter without her partner in crime is devastating. Nova is only 3-1/2 years old but it feels like she has been in our family for a lifetime and it still isn't long enough. After all of our vet visits to try to diagnose what we thought was an infection, only to find out it was cancer. When they said it is treatable, we knew we had to fight for our girl just like she would want to fight for us if she could.

SMOKIE
SMOKIE is a 5-year-old Pit Bull mix in Monroe Township, NJ, who needs $2,000 for modified Wisconsin protocol chemotherapy.
Monroe Twp, NJ
I adopted Smokie from Associated Humane Society in Newark, NJ which is a High Kill Shelter on 9-15-2014. He was an owner surrender and was abused. A big baby that is afraid of everything. He saved me after the passing of my 2 other dogs within 6 months of each other to 2 different cancers. He has since become my world and my life. He has a fur sister Lily that adore each other and are completely inseparable.

Nala
Nala is a 6-year-old German Shepherd in Dorchester, MA, who needs $2,000 for an MRI of the brain.
dorchester, MA
I got Nala the month after I graduated from college. I wasn’t sure what I was going to name her but when I brought her home I couldn’t stop looking at how big her paws were! Lion sized paws! And with that I decided Nala was her name, a fierce, strong willed lioness(but really I knew she was a dog...) We have been together for 6 years now, and she has helped me through so much of my depression that has taken over my life in the past 5 years. She gives me a reason to get up in the morning. She loves me even when I can’t love myself, and for that I owe her the world.

Diamond
Diamond is a 6-year-old Bulldog Boxer mixed-breed in Fort Collins, CO, who needs $700 for malignant tumor removal.
Fort Collins, CO • The Street Dog Coalition
Our family adopted Diamond when she was twelve weeks old. She is now six years old and we consider her a part of our family. She grew up with my two sons and my daughter and gives them kisses in the morning to wake them up. We also have a three legged cat named Babies who is Diamond's best friend. We often find them cuddled together. Diamond loves walking and swimming and catching flies. She always has a ball in her mouth until she drops it in front of whoever she wants to play with her. She's named Diamond for a diamond-shaped pattern in her fur, but she is also more precious to us and worth more than any diamond in the world.

Rufus
Rufus is a 1-year-old Red Heeler in Eldorado, KS, who needs $2,000 for burn treatment and smoke inhalation.
Eldorado, KS
Rufus is a one year old red heeler. He was a birthday present for my husband. My husband chose his name because he was called Rufus as a kid and has found memories growing up with his family. Rufus is a happy dog and gets along well with everyone. He did have four other dog siblings but sadly 3 of them died in the house fire.

Ruca
Ruca is a 3-year-old Border Collie in Wakefield, RI, who needs $2,000 for chemotherapy.
Wakefield, RI • Save One Soul Animal Rescue League
Yes! Ruca (pronounced “roo-kah”) still lives with us (Kate & Aly) in South Kingstown, RI. I am a teacher & Aly is a carpenter. In the winter of 2016, we decided we were ready to welcome a dog into our family. We knew we wanted an active rescue dog who was in need of a loving home. We named Ruca after the surf company (RVCA) and the Sublime song (“Waiting for my Ruca”) in hopes that he would embody the active, warm and joyful energy that is found at the beach. Ruca came up on the “puppy truck” from Arkansas and experienced his first surf and snow that same winter at Narragansett Beach! Within minutes of meeting Ruca, you’ll realize, he is one in a million—happy, smart, funny, caring, joyful. We couldn’t ask for a better pup!

Sid Jingles
Sid Jingles is a 12-year-old Silky Terrier Mix in Steilacoom, WA, who needs $2,000 for treatment of a bacterial infection.
Steilacoom, WA • KINDRED SOULS FOUNDATION
Sid Jingles was found as a stray and brought to the local Humane Society. Due to his extensive medical issues in need of immediate attention, the shelter transferred him to Kindred Souls Foundation. Our medically fragile program is for animals who still have quality of life, but need more than basic medical care. We pair them with a long-term KSF caregiver and if they do not adopt out, then they have a safe and loving home with KSF for the remainder of their days. Sid has good quality of life, so we are providing all of the medical care he needs in preparation of his new and improved life!

Kailani
Kailani is a 1-year-old Mixed in Warwick, RI, who needs $2,000 for spinal surgery.
Warwick, RI • RI Pet Connection Foundation
World, meet Kailani, a 9 Month old Thai Ridgeback Mix. This sweet girl came into our care a few months back- she was small, and on her very first night with us she started crying out in severe pain. We rushed her to Ocean State where they performed multiple tests. It was diagnosed that she is currently suffering from Spina Bifida (spinal cord defect) AND a condition called Dermoid Sinus. Dermoid sinus is a genetic skin condition in dogs, also known as pilonidal sinus. However, unlike pilonidal sinus in humans, the dermoid sinus in dogs is a neural tube defect. Dermoid sinus is rare in dogs and cats. It causes extreme pain, loss of mobility and general discomfort. She is unable to lift herself and move. Kailani is in a tremendous amount of pain. We are doing our best to keep her comfortable. She is in foster care where we can manage her pain while we save up the funds required to perform a surgery she needs to survive. Kailani is a fighter, and a love!

Poopy
Poopy is a 8-year-old Tortoiseshell in Westminster, MA, who needs $871 for dental cleaning.
Westminster, MA
Six years ago, I somehow got my parents to agree to get me a cat for my 16th birthday. Ill never forget walking into the vet one day and meeting the cat my parents had picked out for me, and falling in love with the plump little cat with the split colored chin and huge green eyes. Her name was autumn, soon to be changed to one of the many nicknames we call her throughout the day (Poopy), and now 6 years later shes managed to roll her way into the hearts of not just us, but everyone else who meets her.

Schultz
Schultz is a 7-year-old Miniature Schnauzer in Monroe, CT, who needs $650 for dental surgery.
Monroe, CT • Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc
Schultz came into our rescue as an owner surrender at the beginning of January 2019. His owner was dying of liver cancer, and no family member could take him. An advocate for the family took him very temporarily and thought she had an adopter for him. However, when she took him to the vet for dental care, he was diagnosed with a significant heart murmur. He could not have surgery until his medical condition was evaluated, and neither the adopter nor Schultz's advocate could commit to further evaluation. Our rescue was contacted and we agreed to take him into rescue. Our vet did bloodwork which was normal, and x-rays that showed a slight enlargement of the heart. We therefore took Schultz for an echocardiagram and evaluation with a board certified cardiologist. That evaluation showed early stage mitral valve disease, but the cardiologist happily determined that Schultz is, at this point, a good candidate for surgery. We need to get that done as soon as possible - his mouth is in awful condition and he will need 12 teeth removed.

Chancey
Chancey is a 2-year-old Wheaten Terrier in Beaconsfield, Quebec, who needs $2,000 for an exploratory laparotomy to treat urinary incontinence.
Beaconsfield
Nicole and I were on a mission to adopt a new furry baby to add to our family. For those of you that do not know, I had adopted a three-legged wheaten terrier who was a truly special dog. Molly was my very first dog and I lucked out in the most incredible way. She was my everything and my first daughter (we now have a four year old human daughter named Isabelle). During our search we came across Wheatens in Need (WIN - /www.wheatensinneed.org), a wheaten rescue organization that helps adopt Wheatens that need a forever home. WIN put us in touch with Cathy Wesley, the owner of Honeywheat Kennel (https://www.honeywheatkennel.com/About-The-Breeder.html). Cathy is a sweet soul who had heard of a newborn wheaten puppy that was going to be put down ONLY because she was leaking. Otherwise, this puppy was in perfect health. Cathy sprung into action and rescued that puppy who she aptly named Chancey. Cathy has been taking care of Chancey like she was one of her own. Cathy is a responsible Breeder that is registered with both the Ontario and Canadian Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Associations. For the last two years, Cathy has provided for Chancey, even spending over $2000 of her own money to try to help Chancey's leaking problem by having the University of Guelph's Veterinary department perform a procedure on her. Unfortunately the procedure was not a success. Chancey has an Ectopic Ureter. The solution is to perform a surgery and implant an Occluder that will allow Chancey to have a normal life. Right now, as the pictures show, Chancey has to wear diapers and suffers from Urinary Tract Infections along with skin issues related to the urine being constantly present. This surgery will essentially fix Chancey's incontinence allowing her to live a completely normal life. Cathy is looking for a family that will adopt Chancey after the surgery.

Thor
Thor is a 3-year-old Siberian Husky in Ledyard, CT, who needs $2,000 for abdominal exploratory surgery for foreign-body ingestion.
Ledyard, CT
We got thor as a 8 week old puppy, and he’s stolen my heart even since. He has a sister Arya who he has bonded with so closely. They’re the best of friends. Thor has been through 2 other surgeries in the past 2 years, and he’s never given up. Thor loves to go for truck rides with his dad, and to run around the dog park with all of his friends. I truly couldn’t imagine my life without him.

Vader
Vader is 4-year-old domestic shorthair cat in New York City who needs $814 for urgently needed dental care.
New York, NY • K9Kastle
K9Kastle pulled Vader from the NYCACC about a year ago. He was ataxic and had had a seizure while in the shelter. K9Kastle loves the wobbly kitties! He hasn't had a seizure while with with us, but he's still a little wonky. While not officially diagnosed, we are reasonably certain he has something called hyperesthesia, which is related to seizures....you've probably met a kitty with it but just thought he was a bit of nut (that describes Vader, certainly!) He will hop up dart out of the room (with his little bunny hop) and then stop and try to bite his back.

Watson
Watson is 6-year-old Puggle in Arvada, CO, who needs $2,000 for weekly physical therapy for a year.
Arvada, CO
I first saw Watson on Petfinder in January and became his foster mom in July. He was injured in January and relinquished after a spinal cord injury when his family could not afford his medical care. Planet Pet cared for him and helped him adjust to his injury, allowing him to become mobile with the use of a cart. He is a determined and resilient dog who loves life. He is currently in Physical Therapy and water therapy weekly and making great progress. He has some feeling in his feet and is now able to stand for several seconds. His special needs mean he is incontinent and needs his bladder expressed every two hours. He uses a cart for mobility but needs to be carried in and out of the house and car. He sleeps in a bed next to mine and is ready for the day at 5:00 AM. I do his PT exercises daily to strengthen his muscles. I have 3 senior female Puggles who have welcomed him into our home. He loves the outdoors and walks. He is in training to be a therapy dog to help others. He has the special ability to bring joy to all who meet him. Watson is truly a remarkable dog and deserves the chance to recover his strength and mobility to whatever degree he can. The progress he has made in his therapy is so encouraging. The specialized care he has received from K-9 Body Shop, a rehabilitative center for canines has been instrumental in this progress. We would love to see him be able to continue the level of care that he has received through continued donations. I will continue to implement the therapy program at home so he receives the maximum benefit from his biweekly sessions.

Bullfrog
Bullfrog is 3-month-old Labrador retriever/Great Dane mix in Wichita, KS, who needs $1,200 for parvovirus treatment.
Sedgwick, KS
Hi! I don't have a name yet as my Mom just picked me up last night and doesn't really know my REAL personality yet. She would like to name me something from a song title so that I can have my "own song." And because she's a weirdo. She likes alternative, classic rock & metal--so if you think of something good, do let us know! I was posted on CL as a found puppy; the family had me for about a week & said no one came forward to claim me. My Mom came to meet me & it was love at first lick.
