Gracie Bug

Gracie was a gift to me from my daughter after my “heart dog” Molly passed away. Gracie was being sold by a boy at the grocery store! She was only two weeks old and needed lots of care and bottle feeding. I used to warn the other dogs not to “step on the bug” because she was so small and dark. She was just adorable! And the sweetest thing ever. I was immediately in love with this little girl. We have several other dogs- all rescues from bad situations - but Gracie is the queen of the house! She is very well respected by the others. When I had cats, Gracie would cuddle with them too. She’s been the “wise elder” for everyone. Everyone at the vet clinic loves Gracie. And even though she is an elder, you wouldn’t know it. She’s happy and active and just full of life! Everyone in my household and family have lost their jobs due to Covid, except me. And I’m only working part time due to my own medical issues. I’ve had to pick up the slack for the others. The pandemic has really caused hardships for so many including this family. Gracie’s had a rough go of it but has always come through challenges with flying colors! Last year she was diagnosed with Cushings and after starting treatment has done really well! She has her love of life and energy back! But a couple of weeks ago I noticed a small bum on her tummy. I took her for an exam and upon a needle aspiration they diagnosed mast cell tumor which requires surgery. I don’t know what my life would have been like without Gracie. She’s been there by my side all of these years! I’ve had several major surgeries and even though it wasn’t a good idea to have her In my room immediately afterwards, she wouldn’t listen. She always snuck in there any would cuddle right next to my head. Grace is full of love and life! I love her from the bottom of my heart.
Bear
Bear is a 13-year-old Shih Tzu Mix in Verona , VA, who needs $548 for mass removal surgery.

I got Bear from one of my mothers clients who has passed away. Bear was her life and she wanted to make sure that he went to a good home. Bear has been a part of my family for two years now. He is best friends with my other Shih Tzu, Buffy she is 15. Within the first six months of having bear he was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease. He has been responding well to the treatment for Cushing’s. Bear has a favorite blanket that he loves to sleep with at night. He won’t go to sleep without it near him. Bear will follow me wherever I go he is my shadow. Bear loves to meet new people wherever he goes he is always excited with his tail wagging and loves a good scratch behind the ears. He is very quite but when he barks he has the most distinctive bark. Due to Bear’s past medical treatments and ongoing with Cushing’s disease. I have used up emergency pet funds for my fur babies. Bear means a lot to me and I want to see him be healthy again because he is such a blessing to me. Bear has a mass on his right front leg. After doing a biopsy on the mass the doctor noted that there are cancer cells in the mass.The veterinarian said that the best choice of action is to surgically remove the mass of his leg. Anicira veterinarian center in Harrisonburg, Virginia is doing his surgery on December 10 he’s treating veterinarian is Dr. Laura Kivlighan. Bear loves his treats especially his lamb sausages. When he gets his lamb sausage treat he will walk away like he is king of the world. He loves his squeaky dragon that he got when he came to live with me. He always has a sad look on his face but that is do to his underbite. He love to take naps in bed with me. When I get home from work he is always at the door with his tail wagging.
Burr Ave Cats
Animal Control received 25 cats in Middletown, CT, who need $1,500 for Spay/Neuter as well as flea and heartworm treatment.

Animal Control received a call about lots of cats in a local neighborhood. No one seemed to own them and there were lots of kittens. When we checked things out, we found someone that was feeding the cats but was not actually the owner of them. We were told there were 10-12 cats and a few kittens. We are currently at 25 cats/kittens and counting including 2 pregnant moms! Luckily all of these cats and kittens are friendly and easily handled. We have only had to use traps for a few very shy kittens. Most of the adult cats are loving the attention that they are getting. They also love each other and are happy sharing their cages. They love to curl up together and squeeze into carriers to be close to each other. We will need to spay/neuter, vaccinate and test for Felv/FIV each cat. Add to that, flea and deworming treatment, antibiotics and other medications and things start to add up quickly. Many of these cats have additional issues and need lots of care. None of these cats are spayed/neutered or have had any kind of vetting. Most have roundworms and they ALL have fleas! A few have had ear infections and upper respiratory infections requiring medication. 3 so far have serious heart murmurs. One kitten had a diaphragmatic hernia and needed emergency surgery to survive! Cat Tales Inc & Pieper Veterinary Hosp have been providing excellent care. We are getting to know these cats better with each day. Some are very vocal with us and eager to come out of their cages to be held and scratched. Some are playful with each other and toys. Some of the kittens are learning to play and getting more comfortable with us. They all have individual personalities and are very sweet!

I am a foster youth who picked up a pregnant cat when I had just left the system. Her name was Ginger, she gave birth to three beautiful tabbies and this handsome fella! He was born on March 23, 2017, currently 3 1/2 years- old! We live together in a transitional housing program where he helps me as an ESA. My cat is my emotion support animal. He helps me with my anxiety, depression, and anger. He enjoys cuddles, treats, and plays with the ESA dog that my roommate has, his name is Oliver. Kisame loves to lay in his bed, the couch, follow me around the house, stalk me in the bathroom, and wake me up at 5am on the dot every morning to be fed. I am an aged-out foster youth, living in transitional housing. My cat provides me with emotional support as well as companionship. I got laid off due to covid and have found it hard to work. My cat means the world to me and my sanity, and I would rather not put him down. My cat has stomatitis gingivitis, and I am paying for most of the medical expenses. He has an infection in the gums, and it is treatable with a teeth cleaning, and if severe enough teeth extraction, and I CANNOT fully pay for the rest of the bill. It is at Norco Animal Hospital, I was denied care credit and scratch pay, this is my last option. Why is my cat special? Because he is cross -eyed, and has an eye problem, but like I do! And I think thats just wonderful. He comes when called and knows his name Kisame and Kissy! He's a very sweet and loving boy who loves bags and treats maybe more than me. He is emotionally intelligent and understands my needs without training. Idiosyncratic behavior? He loves to sit and stare at the walls.
Pearl
Pearl is a 4-year-old Mix in Palm Springs , CA, who needs $900 for surgery to correct cherry eye.

Pearl came into my life at one of the lowest times in my life. I lost my beloved dog Parker suddenly and traumatically. The Emergency vet hospital did all they could. I had to make that awful decision. I entered into a deep depression for about a month then I went to the shelter and they had a litter of puppies. I made the decision to save a female pup. Pearl helped with the pain and healed me. My Pearl has 8 spots in my apartment that are hers. There is a blanket or bed in each spot for her comfort. In her yard there are four sunning spots she favors. She loves her morning walks, which are about 30 minutes right now as I am still recovering from chemotherapy. I tire quickly and Pearl loves to walk fast. Throughout my chemo treatments she stuck right by me. Without her I would perish. I’m on a fixed low income and had a reserve for Pearl. I had to use that for the allergies and digestive issues she was having. All of that is resolved. Just need to fix her cherry eye now. I believe this would solve a lot and I can have my beautiful pearl back to normal. Pearl has what is called cherry eye. There is a photo of her with it popped out. She has always eye issues due to allergies but this is different. The cherry eye has popped out in both eyes periodically but have always resolved with eye drops and gentle massage to ease the prolapsed tear duct back into place. Dr Carter at Carter animal hospital says she needs surgery. Pearl has her two legged friends Chris and Mike, she adores both of them so much. I kind of get jealous 🥺 she is completely different with me. She has her four legged friends but because of COVID they are all separated right now. She likes to talk to me all the time. When she is ready to eat she stands by her bowl and gently barks her demand and then she talks just to talk.
Mew
Mew is a 8-year-old Bombay in Harker heights, TX, who needs $180 for antibiotics, steroids and revolution.

I found my fur baby in Missouri hiding behind a bail of hay. She couldn’t have been more than 4 weeks old. She was hungry and wounded, some how she lost half her tail. She got her name because that’s all she did when she was found. She has been with me for 8 years. She has a bad case of what her vet says is walking dandruff (Cheyletiella) and a few days ago she started hiding under the bed. Mew loves to play with cat nip mice and a laser. She hides under the bed when she is sick because she also has scalding urine now. She doesn’t come out of the bedroom ever because my other cat Luna who is a rescue runs in and all she wants to do is play with Mew. I don’t think Luna gets it. I’m on social security and only get enough money to pay rent, buy the kitty litter and food for my cats and myself and utilities. She started to get skin conditions when I moved to Texas 4 years ago, the vet gave her revolution, a steroid and antibiotics. But it comes back every few months now and I’m not sure why. I take her to Belton Vet Clinic in Belton, TX; they are wonderful at taking care of her. It’s a first come first serve clinic but well worth the wait. Mew is my baby, she is always the first to eat and get fresh water. The first to get her pick of a toy. Just having her sleep with me and knowing she lived me makes me smile. I just love her so much. She will sit in front of the tv to get my attention which I find unique and cute. There is so much going on in the world today, I know I can look at my baby and smile hoping it will all work out.

Between sobs, Molly's human parents told Waggle that Molly's heart condition is growing more critical, and that's breaking their own hearts. "My world was shattered when Molly was diagnosed with early congestive heart failure," Tammi, Molly's human mom, says. "She needs an echocardiogram, bloodwork, and medication to get her stabilized, which will significantly prolong her life." Right now, Molly's parents are in a financial bind, both are disabled, and Tammi has been battling two kinds of cancer. Money is tight, and they can't afford Molly's tests and treatment. The adorable Chiweenie means the world to them. Tammi and her partner, Ben. R. took Molly in ten years ago. The pup was just a couple of weeks old and needed to be bottle-fed. The three of them now share the most incredible bond. When Tammi needed comfort during all her cancer treatments, Molly was there for her. "She was so gentle she would put her head on me and give me kisses. She gave me the strength to fight through it," Tammi says. "I've never seen a dog so aware of my pain." Tammi and Ben say they would love to get Molly's tests run immediately at the Countryside Animal Clinic where they're working with Dr. Cox. Molly currently gets winded quickly, and her breathing is affected. She's just not herself. The couple thanks anyone who can donate and help. "We can't tell you how much this means to us," Ben says, fighting back tears. "You're helping to save this wonderful girl!"
Kiki
Kiki is a six-month-old Domestic Shorthair in San Francisco, CA, who needs $1,500 for leg surgery after being struck by a lawnmower.

My cat's name is Kiki. I adopted her when she was 2 months old from Saving Grace Rescue. Kiki's right front leg was cut by a lawn mower and Saving Grace rescued her and healed her. She is now 5 months old. We named her Kiki because it just seem to fit her. When we saw her picture we fell in love with her especially her big eyes. Kiki likes rubs and to be close to everyone. She is very playful and likes to hide places. We have a special bed for her but she likes sleeping on our beds and cuddle with us. At night she is good and knows that she sleeps by herself. Since we only have her, she gets a lot of hugs and kisses from us. She loves to rub against my legs in the morning when I am getting ready for work. We were not prepare for such a major expense. We really want to heal Kiki so she is not in pain and she has been such a blessing to us Kiki means a lot to us. We want Kiki to be able to continue jumping & leaping. Kiki needs surgery on the leg that the lawn mower cut her. The orthopedic surgeon, Dr. K. Tong of BluePearl Veterinary Partners said that her ulna is not growing because it closed prematurely. He hopes to make a small slit to release the bone so that it can come out. Because of this reason the radius (the other bone) is bending very badly because it is being tethered by the non growing ulna. One thing Kiki likes is to find a go hiding spot and she loves to sit on window ledges. Kiki likes sunbathing too. When she wants to play with you and you are busy, she would lie down and wait for you to play. Also sometimes at night she will be running around like crazy.This makes me smiles and laugh. In the morning, Kiki would follow me around until I leave for work or someone else is awake.
Toodles
Toodles is a 15-year-old Miniature Poodle in Ocean City, NJ, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.

Toodles was adopted as a baby. He has lived with us and watched all the kids grow. He is in preschool pictures and graduation pictures. He is a member of our family. He has been there for everybody in sicknesses and heartbreaks. His little heart holds my children’s childhood memories. He has gone on vacations, shopping, sports events, wherever we go he is there. He is considered a family member and we treat him like one. Some would say he is more human then dog by the way he interacts with everyone he meets. He can make you smile on your worst days. Make you feel better when there seems like you will have no relief. He has worked his heart into everyone he meets. I lost my job due to COVID and have worked 21 years in healthcare. I have been waiting for my unemployment for 3 months. I have never collected before. It’s just me and my 14 years old at home. I took him to an emergency veterinarian who diagnosed him with a peritoneal hernia. I called all around to find the best and cheapest place that would do the surgery. I found a veterinarian about an hour and a half from my town who sounds wonderful. There reviews are amazing online and the get pets from all over that come to them. Toodles is a full breed miniature poodle. In his younger years he could out run the fastest dog around. He is small, but he still would protect the family the best way he knew how. He would intimate anyone who would be attempting to cause harm to someone or something he loves. He loves all animals great and small.
