Skylar came into my life in 2014. I rescued her from an abusive couple who would keep her caged up and barely fed her. From the moment I seen her we became best friends! She became my emotional support dog. She’s an amazing pet, daughter, snuggle partner & she can sense when I’m going into a anxiety attack or a melt down! Idk what I would do without her 🤧 she’s my everything! She’s the only pet. She LOVES to play in the snow and fetch the snowballs! She doesn’t like car rides that much because she gets sucks! She loves her ropes and her baby (a toy pig). She loves to cuddle down by my feet! She LOVES my son and whole family! She’s amazing with them! She’s like a dolphin in the water! She enjoys butt rubs and treats and the outdoors! Due to COVID I’m out of a job. I have unemployment and I can provide proof of income if needed! I was denied for care credit and due to Christmas for my son and such it’s hard to come up with the money. Vet donated 400 towards the surgery.. She had surgery (emergency) (I can show proof if needed) back in April 2020 where she had to get her lady parts out and she almost died. She developed (showed in pictures) a tumor type thing where the doctor has her on antibiotics for the mean time but he wants to do emergency surgery to get it out and sent off for testing to get her the treatment she needs. I would say I’m her favorite human! She’s scared of loud noises and she HATES the fluffy stuff that comes outta a couch or stuffed animal! If she sees it she will pull it all out! She isn’t a talker unless she hears or senses someone around our place! If anyone try’s to harm me she will nip for a warning and bite if needed! Our bond is unbreakable! I didn’t just save her she saved me too!
Nikki & Holli

Both Holli and Nikki were found in the street at age 1 month old. They were flea infested and Nikki had a broken leg. She had surgery and is doing great! Holli is a wild child lol. They are almost a year old now and have become each other’s shadow. Where there’s one, there’s the other. They are such beautiful souls. These sweet girls are “one”. Where there is one, there is the other. Funny thing is, they aren’t true sisters. Nikki was found a month before Holli in a totally different place. Nikki was found by Animal Control after being ran over. Holli was found by us at a Bank. She was flea infested. Iced got to adopt both of them about 3 months apart. My boyfriend just had Rotator Cuff surgery on Monday Oct 19th. He’s expected to be out of work for 4 weeks. I’m permanently disabled. We need to get these girls spayed. Nikki was a month old and ran over by a car. Animal Control just happened to witness it, picked her up, brought her to the Vet. The Vet put a plate and screws in her hip and put her up for adoption. We were able to adopt her. Holli was dumped off at a bank. The teller told us she was there a few hours. She was flea infested & ran to me when I called for her. These two girls make me smile so much when they crawl up on me and look into my eyes for some living. It’s incredible. They’re long lanky legs run over to us and they look into our eyes with they’re gorgeous souls. Oh how precious. They live to sleep side by side or weaved into each other. One thing is for sure, they will always be touching.

Patchy was the victim of a hit and run. A good samaritan found the sweet cat lying on the side of the road. He was in pain and on death's door. When Second Chance Pet Adoptions heard about the situation, they bolted into action and immediately got Patchy to the vet. > "It's heartbreaking," Deanna S. with the rescue tells Waggle. "There was blood coming out of his eyes and nose. He could not even lift his head. He was left to die in a super painful way. It was horrible." Patchy turned out not only to be a sweet cat, but he's also a fighter. For two weeks, he struggled to live. He was in and out of the animal hospital getting fluids and supportive care. "The entire time, he would lift his head and wanted his ears rubbed. He's a friendly cat," Deanna says. He is now stable, but he can't walk. X-rays revealed his pelvis is broken and his hip is in bad shape. Dr. Kim at JYK Veterinary Clinic says Patchy needs hip surgery to help him walk again. His prognosis is very bright. But the rescue can't get Patchy the life-changing operation he needs without donations. The rescue relies 100% on pet lovers' goodwill to help animals. "We try to help as many cats and dogs as can," Deanna says. "We don't want any animals to be euthanized for financial reasons, especially when they can be treated and recover and continue to live their life."

My daughter found her living outside of a dorm @ Niagara college 13 years ago. She followed her to her car! Only weighing 1 lb & flea infested she brought her home which was a long drive. We were so happy to have this beautiful baby kitty. What a blessing she has been to us! I am living alone and on fixed income. I can just manage to scoop bells litter & give medications on a daily basis. Bella has been sleeping on her spot on the couch & on my bed for 13 years. She loves the other pets that we have had & lost but she is my sweet baby girl & has a very unique meow & is very loving❤️ I have given her such a good life & she is grateful! She wakes me up every morning with her little paw on my mouth & sits & waits for me to open my eyes. She is such a darling. She is only eating baby f I am on disability now & the kids are grown and moved out. I am alone & have very little mobility. I am on a fixed income. I can’t afford Bella’s monthly medication & monthly office visits which are $55 each. I need help with medications & office visits. Bella has been diagnosed with renal disease/failure. She has been peeing a lot & drinking lots of water for many years. Then ended up with cystitis. (Blood in urine) now she went blind on November 23rd 2020 we rushed her to emergency clinic her in rochester ny. They confirmed her blindness & she said she has high blood pressure. It went up to 210 Fatle. They put her on medication She has this special meow when she wants to be held or noticed. She likes to drink water from the bathroom faucet. She is very petite & so much like a toddler very human nature. She knows she is loved. I kiss her on her head every day! She used to jump in the air to plat with her mate kitty also a rescue. She hasn’t been able to do that since she lost her sight. I’m so very sad over this & want

I wanted a senior dog because they are the sweetest dogs. I adopted Roxy from a rescue group in NY. She was in foster care about 2 months when I adopted her last year. Prior to that, she was surrendered to the Brooklyn Shelter by a pet sitter because the owner never came back for her. But when I went to see Roxy that first day, surrounded by 4 other dogs, she KNEW I was there for her. Roxy adjusted pretty easy to her new home. She has kitty siblings whom she loves to give big kisses to. She is playful at times but ultimately loves to nap and get massages. It's hard for me to comprehend her cancer. She has no symptoms but I don't want to wait until it's too late. I want to do all I can for her despite my financial situation. I know God will provide the means to care for her. I was planning to get pet insurance for Roxy, but when Covid hit, it was difficult to find a job to cover all my bills. I now have a retail job and I was literally weeks from getting Roxy on pet insurance when a mass was found on her right lung. I took her to the Vet for an Xray of her elbow from joint pain. In doing so, the Vet noticed a mass on her lung. I was referred to Dr. Jennifer McDaniel, an oncologist at Newtown Veterinary Services in Connecticut. Ultimately, the best treatment for a primary tumor is surgery for a longer life of 2 years. Roxy is a very happy dog. Since her diagnosis, she seems even sweeter, if that makes any sense. She smiles with that typical pit bull smile all the time. She loves to give kisses rather than receive them. She loves her kitty siblings too. Despite her severe joint issues, she still loves going for walks and laying in the sun.

We rescued Hershey the year we got married and she’s like our first baby. We have 5 other pets and Hershey is the alpha/mom to all. My moms dog Candi started the pet name theme. Hershey was a destructive little thing at first and has grown to be our house patrol. She has the sweetest disposition and still plays like a puppy. When Hershey was young and we boarded her, we had to pay for individual playtime because she did not play well with others. So spoiled. Now the other pets groom her and fuss over her and it’s so funny to watch. She seems to have surrendered to all of this love and affection. She follows me from room to room like she might miss something really important. I borrowed from my retirement and have amassed several thousand dollars of debt through care credit. I have no more resources. Hershey seems strong to me and she does not appear ready to die. Her being healthy again would bring so much joy to us. She is our precious one. Hershey was diagnosed with oral melanoma in February and part of her lower mouth was removed in March. The cancer spread and she is receiving chemotherapy. She is treated by Dr. Sarah Collette at Upstate Vet Emergency and Specialty in Asheville. New medication has been ordered/invoiced through Fidocure/One Health Co., Inc. Hershey growls when someone else sits in her favorite chair. She runs through the house swinging her red hippo rope toy. Her walking spot is at the park and she loves car rides. She tries to go with me to work every morning. She kisses my forehead often and she has a love affair with peanut butter. She is terrified of thunder and plastic bags, and she hates noise making appliances like blenders.
Fluffy

Fluffy was found by my sister about 2 weeks ago, she called me because she knows I'm an animal lover. My family decided to keep Fluffy and be part of our family. He has no tail. I took him to the vet to check his tail but unfortunately he needs an amputation, otherwise he's going to suffer of a lot of pain. The surgery is expensive, we need help. We love him. When we brought him at home he has no tail that make us feel instantly love for him. For us he is a really special kitty, my kids love him. He's so playful, he makes us laugh a lot, he sleep like a baby in the sofa or bed wherever he feel comfortable. He's approximately 2 months we just want him to be ok to continue giving him love. This is an unexpected expensive cost and we can't afford at this time. Fluffy means a lot to us we love him from the first moment we meet him. I don't want to give up on him, that's the reason we ask for help. He needs a surgery an amputation to save his live. The cost of surgery is expensive for us at this time and we can't afford that money right now but we want him to be ok we just need a little help.. or some other place that can be more accessible to pay or make payments.. We don't know what to do or go to save his life. He loves to play with my daughter when they 2 play together make us laugh and create memories. My daughters especially loves him a lot if something happens to him my daughter will be very sad and definitely us.. I can't imagine a bad ending for him 😔

My dog Tyson is a 6 yr old pit mix. I rescued him at age 2 from Balt Animal Rescue & Care Shelter. At first, I couldn’t come up with a good name. My boyfriend kept calling him meat head, because he said he had a big head. But you can’t name a dog meat head! So I said, how about Tyson? Tyson is a brand of meat and it would make a cute dog’s name. He agreed, and now here we are 5 yrs later! My mom recently passed, and I’m also trying to care for her sick 14 yr old dog and 18 yr old cat. I’m asking for help with Tyson's treatments in efforts to prevent financial driven euthanasia. I’m a hard working fur mom, trying to stay afloat and save all my fur babies! He has been diagnosed with stage 4 Intermediate Cell Lymphoma. Otherwise, he is a very healthy dog. We saw an Internal Medicine Dr. and are currently in chemo treatment at an Oncologist. Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology, Dr. Calo in Towson, MD. I'm also working with a Holistic Vet. I plan to go forward with chemo, as long as he remains my happy and healthy “meat head"! He LOVES to play with his ball, squeaky toys, and with his doggie girlfriends. He also enjoys sunbathing on the back deck or running up and back along the fence barking at the people mowing their lawns. His favorite place to go with his girlfriend, Sadie (pit mix also) is to a nearby park to go hiking and play in the water! Tyson will even sit on the back porch with you to watch the fireworks!
Charles
Charles is a three-month-old Maine Coon Mix kitten in Woodstock, GA, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.

Charles came into the Gwinnett Shelter on 9/28/20. He was seen by the shelter vet on 9/29 with a fractured right femur w/displacement, hair line spiral fracture on left tibia. Non-weight bearing in hind end, and reluctant to stand. Charles was rescued by Maine Coon Rescue and picked up on Tuesday October 6th. He is now living in his foster home with his foster mom. Charles is adjusting to being in his foster home. He has only been in his foster home for a short time, but Charles has left a big impression with his foster mom. He is eating more and getting stronger. Charles is starting to adapt to the cast that is on his leg. This has been an adjustment for him. Maine Coon Rescue is a 501c3 and we depend on donations from our amazing supporters. Charles needs this surgery to make him feel better and not be in pain. We wanted to help give him this chance. Charles came into the shelter weighing only 1.81 lbs. and approximately 3months old. He was seen by the shelter vet on 9/29 with a fractured right femur w/displacement, hair line spiral fracture on left tibia, non-weight bearing in hind end, and reluctant to stand. He will need surgery to repair the fracture. Maine Coon Rescue has received an estimate from BluePearl Vet Partners. Charles is very special to our rescue. We saw him posted on the shelter site, and Maine Coon Rescue knew we had to step in to help. He is a very sweet boy who is happy to be in a foster home with someone who loves and cares for him. He is learning to relax and adapting to his new life in his foster home. We are still learning his personality.
