June

When my partner Emilio and I were 20 years old, we walked into a shelter "just to look". As soon as Emilio saw June, he knew he was not going to leave there without her. She was sick and fragile and had been surrendered with no information, not even a name.She's been by our side ever since. Living in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York. We currently all live together in Pittsburgh. June is the ultimate couch potato. You can almost always find her sleeping on the couch or even tucked into bed. Yes, we her head on the pillow and all. She truly believes she is human and sometimes convinces us she just might be. Although she's 10, she still loves a good walk through the woods and keeps up for a little, old lady. She is loved by all of our family members and friends. I am a full time student and working part time. Emilio works at Whole Foods. We've been so grateful to work through the pandemic but as we all know times are tight. As someone with a panic disorder, especially during these difficult time, June has been my emotional support. June has been a very healthy dog all the way up until her diagnosis. She has been active even throughout her first month of treatment and continues to be in good spirits thus far. June has been diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. She is being treated at Veterinary Referral Associates by Dr. Sara Fritz. As I stated earlier, June is part human. When she needs to go outside, she will grab your hand with her mouth and pull you to the door. When she wants to eat, she will give you side-eye until you give her her meal or a snack. And when she wants to get into your bed, she must be formally invited with a pat on the bed instead us jumping up on her own. She sleeps right in between Emilio and I.
Hank
Hank is an 11-year-old Calico in Lake Country, BC, who needs $1,400 for a Urinary Tract Flush.

Hank was rescued as a kitten, and has had a well travelled life with his owner. We have worked and lived in many different places, and now he lives the life of luxury near a lake, and loves to just lie in the sun. Hank has always been a staple in our household, greeting everyone who comes into our home. Hank is not your stereotypical cat, he has always been very social, and makes new friends with everyone he meets. People are always talking about Hank, and even people who don’t like cats love him! He’s in tune with his people, willing to lie on your chest and snuggle when you’ve had a bad day, and cares so much for those he loves. He’s one in a million, and we can’t imagine life without him. Covid has caused us to be laid off, we are trying to make ends meet with part time jobs, but there is no extra money at this time. Hank has saved my life, literally, and we need to save his now. Hank has always been happy and healthy, until one evening he began growling and crying. We sat with him while he cried and tried to make him feel better. The next day we took him to the vet, and they informed us he has a blocked urinary tract, and couldn’t urinate. He needs an operation to fix it or it will claim his life. We are seeing Dr Julia Grey at Panorama Vet Clinic in Lake Country, BC. Hank has always been so kind and loving. We’ve been through some really tough times, and Hank always seems to know when we’re struggling. He will sleep on your chest and try to calm you down, he loves to give kisses and will always bump his head into yours to make sure you know he’s there. He is the master of facial expressions! You always know if he’s happy, or annoyed.
Henry

Henry is my BEST buddy in the whole wide world! He came into my life as a rescue, but he is the one who has rescued me. He is my emotional support. I was diagnosed with having PTSD after the loss of my little brother & then my mother being diagnosed with cancer. My Henry has comforted me through all my tears & anxieties. Henry is loving, adventurous, playful & smart. He loves hiking in the canyon, trotting down the beach & hunting squirrels at the park. He is loved very much. He never complains about what I'm watching on netflix. He is my road dog, always sitting shotgun & ready to seize the day! His best dog pals are Lucy & Charlie, and yes, he is their pack leader (: He is my emotional support animal. Anyone who has been or knows someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD, Knows how special & important that relationship is. Not having the financial means to help him feel better is devastating to my soul. He has been diagnosed with severe periodontal disease & needs surgery asap. He needs several teeth extracted as well as an Lumpectomy. His surgery would be performed at Clairemont Village Pet Clinic in San diego, CA by Dr. Perry Diamond, in the case I can raise the funds. Being is so much pain, he's just not himself. Seeing my little friend in pain is heartbreaking. Henry is very special to me, he is my family. He is in my heart. He loves to go on car rides, with his little head out of the window, feeling the wind in his face, he feels like he's flying. Even though he's only 17lbs, he thinks he's the biggest dog in town. He is loyal & protective. He hates the mailman & loves chicken jerky.

My mom bought me bailey when I graduated High school 14 years ago. I have had him my whole adult life. He has always been a loving and sweet dog. He's only 3 pounds. He's a very calm dog. I live i n a nice house and rent from my best friend who is also my house mate. We spend a lot of time with him. Covid-19 has affected me but I have started a new job as of a week ago. Bailey sleeps with me in bed a majority of the time. Bailey is around two other small dogs during the day and has companionship. He likes being on my lap or right next to me on a regular basis, If I'm working you can find him next to my house mate or on her lap. He calls for a lot of individual attention and care. He loves everyone. I have been affected by Covid-19 and was out of week until a week ago. I recently got a work assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. The lack of work is why I am just now getting back on my feet financially. Bailey was tested and had severe glucose deterioration. He has been given a steroid and is eating baby food but requires a procedure (ultrasound) to be done to see if he has tumors that are contributing to his glucose loss. A biopsy could be needed. The name of the hospital is Virginia Veterinary Centers. The name of the Dr. is Wendy Watts. He loves beef treats and various fruits. He just recently started jumping from the bed to a chair to get down or he uses doggy stairs at my mothers house. He really loves on you all the time and wants to be against you feeling your comfort. He loves to sunbath or roll around in the grass and makes sure to drink lots of water as it drips on the floor from his mouth:D. Everyone adores Bailey.

Tennis Teddy Bear raised in a cage for breeding. Sad life till he wasn't useful, put up for adoption. Fate had it I stumbled upon his picture, love acrossed many miles. Ted Bear was transported to me from Tennessee. Scared he warmed up fast & crept farther into my heart 8 yrs later both him & I are Seniors, he needs more health care surgery me on l fixed income struggle. Please we Beg help us Tennessee Teddy Bear is just that the most gentle sweet and kind boy you could met. He never met anyone he didn't loves up on. He was a therapy dog for a while. plays an important role in my life he us a best friend and helps assist with my disability. He us a best friend doing everything together. I am a senior on a fixed income. I often let myself go to care of Tennessee even doing that with high price cost of veterinarians its a struggle when something expensive happens. I try small odd jobs with Covid being high risk that is very limited now. Tennessee has dental deease not 1 or 2 bad teeth but a mouth full 24. We brushed & sprayed his teeth many years but since living the life of a breeding dog he was Never given a chance to chew. I realize having him in my life how important chewing is for keeping a dogs mouth healthy. I gave every soup bone dog bone pet store brought stuff he would Never chew. He would look at it like what is that Tennessee is a clown where he gets that personality I don't know half human half dog he can take a depressing day and turn it into laughter then sit and look at you like whats so funny. He also is the world's best snuggler and loves cuddling as I watch movies or read a good book. Give him a bath and he soaks like a human before scrub time. He is much more then a pet he is family my fur kid

"Poor, little Kevin was abandoned in a neighbor’s back yard in April 2020," explains Jennifer T. She saw the "found puppy" posting and immediately offered to foster the adorable dog. Jennifer is no stranger to caring for lost, stray, abandoned pups. She has a pack of senior dogs herself and she has worked with the Marysville, Ohio-based Hospets rescue organization in the past, and so she introduced Kevin to her furry family of rescues. "He is a ball of energy, and has a huge personality and extreme intelligence," she exclaims. "We call him Kevin after the strange bird in the movie 'Up.' He is a wonderful, weird, and wild mix of genetic flaws." A lovable, slightly off-center canine with a funny underbite, long, lanky legs, Pomeranian ears, two sets of dewclaws, two sets of regular nails, and who-knows-what-else. Jennifer notes that he has been enjoying his time "tormenting my seniors." Meantime, she has worked diligently to try to find his original family, plastering posters around town, contacting rescue groups and shelters, and searching neighborhood websites." Sadly, no one has claimed him, so she diligently set out to find him the perfect fit for his forever home—and she succeeded. A Christmas miracle! Along with these efforts, Jennifer took him to the vet for a check-up; the vet confirmed his age, and that, sadly, he had worms and particularly tiny, needle-like teeth, and, of course, he was not yet neutered. The worst news, however, was that he suffered from extremely bowed-in front legs. He was diagnosed by Audrey Wanstrath of the Ohio State University Veterinary Clinic with carpal valgus. This condition has not impeded his mobility—at least not yet—and, it often corrects itself; one leg seems to be doing just that. The other leg is not. "We have pinpointed a wonderful home for Kevin, and I cannot, in good conscience pass the financial burden of his surgery to his new family, particularly while COVID-19 has created its own burdens, and in our area, we've had two shuts-downs," she further notes. Kevin will need orthopedic surgery on this leg, even though he has learned to compensate. However, surgery must be performed sooner, rather than later. "We feel it is best to correct this while he is young," Jennifer states. Kevin has evolved into a Twitter and Instagram star (#KevinGremlin and @KevinGremlin). This funny, sweet, and oddball boy—a mix of Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, and Pomeranian—is a heartthrob! Beams Jennifer, "You can't look at this sweet goofball and not smile...your heart just melts." Sophie is the love of my life. I adopted her 7 years ago from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, and she’s changed my life for the better. She's been my sole companion throughout many of my darkest times, including quarantine; having her here means the world to me. I attribute much of what I've accomplished and overcome throughout the last several years to her presence. Since the day I brought her home, Little Soph has provided me with structure, laughter and unconditional love. In a lot of ways, caring for her has forced me to show up for myself. She wakes me up every morning with purrs and cuddles, and it gives me the energy I need to get myself out of bed and ready for the day. She's a great buffer for my mental health; I feel SO grateful for her. I am disabled and live on SSDI, which is extremely limiting, especially during COVID-19. I've been able to get her current bills covered by the generosity of folks online. Getting her January bills taken care of will be an absolute blessing and weight off of my shoulders. Sophie has IBD, and is suspected to have a few autoimmune conditions. She needs medical treatment from a cardiologist to assess her heart murmur and heart disease. She also needs to see a dermatologist to help treat her itchy ears, ear scabs, and hair loss above her eye. She's booked in January 2021 at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care's Congress St. and Warren Ave locations. Little Soph loves to be held, but only if I'm sitting on the couch and her little feet can touch something; she *hates* feeling airborne. She is also quite bold, and has been known to climb into an open fridge in search of catnip, or walk inside a family-sized bag of tortilla chips for a little snack. She never fails to bring a smile to my face, or fill my days with her selflessness and love.
Franklin

I recently adopted Franklin from a breeder in Northern Minnesota. I was originally planning on getting a little girl, but when I saw Franklin’s face I fell in love and knew he was the one. I brought him home to my apartment in Minneapolis just last Saturday and he and I quickly bonded. I have an emotional support animal certificate for him and had been waiting for him for years. Franklin adores everyone he meets. I’ve never met a more gentle puppy soul. More than anything, he loves to snuggle and show affection by giving kisses and nuzzling up to his people. He also has a spunky personality and likes to show his distaste for the cold Minnesota weather by letting out tiny sized little squeaks. His favorite nap spots are on my chest or in his burrow bed. My pet insurance for Franklin has not kicked in yet because I just got him and I do not have the reserves to pay for the supportive care that he needs. It would mean the world to me to be able to do everything I can for him without having to resort to humane euthanasia. Franklin’s health needs are emergent, but he can recover with supportive care. He is currently only 2 lbs so his body couldn’t handle the extensive amount of worms in his GI tract. That caused him to stop eating so he requires a central line to provide him with nutrition and give his stomach a chance to heal. He was being treated at the Veterinary Medical Center- UMN, but now he’s at BluePearl. When I was first handed Franklin in his little baby blanket he stared up at me and we had a moment. I told him that I would take good care of him and he responded by giving me me an overwhelming amount of kisses. I’ve never felt so connected to a pet and although he’s only been in my care for a short time, I’ve witnessed his sweet curiosity, bravery, and magnetic love.
Angel

I found Angel at a shelter, she was 4mo. old sickly and underweight. Angel was born at the shelter called Angel rescue, they named her after their shelter and I kept her name, because she had angelic eyes (blue) and the sweetest soul. I’ve had her for 11 years now, she has always been healthy until last yr when she went blind. She has a lab 10, and a cat 17 for siblings. She’s my heart dog! Angel has always slept in bed with me, and when she went blind I put my bed on the floor so she could sleep with me. Angel loves car rides, the dog park, she loves to play keep away from me! She loves her treats, I dehydrate yams, chicken, beef, and liver for her. If she can’t find me, I just say Angel where are you and she comes to me. She’s protective but very loving toward everyone. I’m single and on disability. Angel deserves help I can’t afford. I want to see her being able to walk without falling even for small walks. I stopped my medication to help her and she’s wanting to do things on her own still. Angel went blind a yr ago, eye dr thinks a tumor caused her to injure her eye. She also has horrible arthritis the vet said. He said she needs cold laser treatment that would cost $200 for 6 treatments. How many treatments is depending on how she does. She sees Dr. Casey at TLC Veterinary. Dr Casey said she’s a fighter. I will always do what’s best for her! Angel has alway protected me especially on walks. She loves her snow, we have always played in the snow together. She would run crazy and make me laugh because she acts like a puppy every time. Every morning she wakes me up by washing my face, if I ignore her she goes nd gets a drink and gives me wet kisses! Even blind, she melts my heart by her expressions!
