Stray
Chloe is a 6-month-old Shih Tzu pup in Columbus, GA, who needs $600 for wound care and treatment.

I found this sweet pup on the side of the road just the other night. She was very lethargic and couldn’t stand up on her own. I brought her home to find large knotted hair on her front feet so I took her in to Dr Glass where it was determined she was in need of amputation on one front leg as well as wound care on the other. Was also informed she needs IV antibiotics for the infection. Since I haven't spent much time with her I am unaware of her favorite things (as of now) but I can tell you she is the sweetest puppy (even the Veterinarian commented as much). She instantly rolled over and let me rub her belly despite being scared and in pain. And the nurse said when she comes to open the door to check on (Chloe) Stray she tries to jump into their arms for attention. I'm recently divorced after 25 yrs living on a fixed income and these pets are my world. Please help me with this unexpected circumstance so that I can welcome this beautiful girl into a happy & loving home which she deserve. With this help I can take great care of her! This is an emergency situation to have her leg amputated and her wounds cared for from the severe neglect she has suffered. My goal is to get her surgery complete and get all her medical needs current and up to date so that my main focus can be on her healing as well as getting her acclimated to her new home and family. She is being treated at Macon Road Vet Clinic in Columbus GA by Dr Glass. I have 2 other Shih Tzu's named Phrank & Theodore as well as a cat named Jaxson. Most days we start out with sunbathing on the porch until the mailman stops by to say hello. After that we take our morning walk around the pond/park. Then its lunch/dinner time followed by a well needed nap. Jaxson usually waits by the door until we return from the park so he can pounce while they are still tired.
Khaleesi
Khaleesi is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Herndon, VA, who needs $2,000 for chemotherapy.

Khaleesi came to us at about 4 weeks old and needed a home. She was a stray that had one eye that was partially blind and another that had the third eyelid grown completely over it. She also had 6 toes. Turns out we needed her more than she needed us. Her love saved us just as much as our love saved her. We would go to the ends of the world to have those mittens slap us around. She is the sweetest most innocent baby. She likes to do absolutely nothing all day accept snuggle. She gets along well with everything, people, other cats, dogs, you name it, she doesn’t mind it. She just minds her business as long as they mind theirs. She can be feisty too. When she’s had enough, she’s had enough. But it takes a lot for her to get that way. We paid for a few clinical vet visits for repeat labs. Two ER placements, bypass surgery including two blood trans. Continuation of meds. Oncology and chemo. Insurance was used, barely covered 1/2. Juggling it all with reduced work hours from the pandemic. A small cosmetic lump we found led to pre op blood work which found liver issues. Meds didn’t work after recheck bloodwork. Her liver started to fail, showed jaundice. Diagnosed triaditis, home care didn’t work, she got surgery with an etube. Cells came back abnormal. She was also diagnosed small cell lymphoma. She saw oncology. She continues her slew of meds with prednisolone and a chemo med. She’s special because she has one eye. She has feline herpes virus and it has never stopped her. She also has severe asthma, which has also never stopped her. She also has big ole mittens. She will use them to slap you when she wants love and it makes us smile so much, when she wants love she wants love.
Ivan
Ivan is a 2-year-old Chihuahua Mix in Austin, TX, who needs $1,400 for Lateral suture + MPL.

Ivan was rescued from a family of hoarders with a large number of other dogs, all of whom were abused. He weighed under 8 lbs, had heart worms and hookworms and very little hair. We found out very early on that he also had a bone growth abnormality. Although we know he is around two years old and has adult teeth, his X-rays show the bones of a puppy that have not fused together. Ivan is a joy to have in our home. He has bonded with me and follows me wherever I go. He plays fetch with the kids in the backyard and falls asleep on the couch between my husband and me on family movie nights. He is also a great at cuddling. He loves to sit next to me or at my feet while I work on the computer, nap with sick kids and tunnel under blankets. COVID has been hard on us. I had to take time off over the summer due to stress and no childcare -- which meant no money coming in from my freelance writing work. We have used up our savings and can't afford this surgery. Ivan likely inherited luxating patellas from the Chihuahua side of his lineage. He has now had two surgeries. He was about 3 weeks from being done with crate rest after the first surgery when I let my youngest son take him out back for a potty break. Unfortunately, they always play rough and Ivan ended up running and hurting his other leg. Both times his knee needed stabilizing and had ACL tears. He is smart, loyal and protective. He barks and charges the door whenever the doorbell rings, even when he was only walking on three legs. He loves to carry soccer balls in his mouth that are bigger than he is and play tug-of-war. Before his knee injuries, he even loved to go jogging. His favorite place to sleep (because he's not allowed in our bed) is under the bed right under me.
Pickles
Pickles is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler in Conroe, TX, who needs $680 for Eye Enucleation.

Thank you all for the Love and Support! Getting closer to the goal everyday! She got the name Pickles because she wouldn't respond to anything else for almost two weeks and when she tried to eat a pickle off of the table I left over for my lunch. She responded. She is such a smart and happy dog usually. Seeing her in so much pain has been difficult. She lives with us and our other dog Chilli and three kitty cats. She loves playing with her squeaky Piggies and obviously sneaking treats in between feeding sessions. She used to love running around in the backyard up and down the fence line and barking at all the noises. My hope is after the surgery she will go back to her old self except maybe bump in a few things more often. During this Covid Crisis money has been tight for a lot of people but it's really hard to keep a backup of that much money on a regular basis. So every little bit donated could help. Pickles started having problems with her eyes a month or so ago. We noticed it would start to ooze and or become uncomfortable for her to keep open. One morning it got so bad she couldn't open her eyes at all so we took her to Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical via an appointment. They told us that it was glaucoma in both eyes and that she was blind. That she needed to have Eye Enucleation. She gets so excited when you squeeze her squeaker toys she wiggles her butt even though she doesn't have a tail. Nothing gets her more excited at the one you try to play keep-away with her baby and she think it's so bouncy and excited demanding that you give her back her toy with grunts and pounces.
Bear
Bear is a 1-year-old Golden Retreiver in Marshall, MI, who needs $1,335 for Bilateral Immature Cataract.

Bear came to us in July of 2019 as a rescue. Him and his brother were given up because they both have heart murmurs. We knew Bear's life could be cut short because of his heart, but when we saw him on the rescues facebook page we knew we needed him in our family. We applied and met with the rescue and we were a match right away. Bear is the life of our house. Since the day he showed up as a puppy, he's been the most loving, caring, and playful dog we have ever had. He will jump into our kids beds every night and lay with them for a few minutes before they fall asleep. He loves to play outside with us and will always hunt down a good stick to sit and chew in any shady spot with his brother, Tucker the bulldog. As a family, we will put everything we can towards the surgery cost. However, we need help closing the gap. We are hoping to raise funds to at least get one eye done, if not both. He is still a baby, only 17 months old, and we want him to have a good life. Two months ago Bear was walking around the house squinting his left eye and pawing at it. We took him to the vet (Dr. Randy at Marshall VCA) and we were told he has an "immature cataract". Dr. Randy told us that he had only read about this in school but had never seen it. He told us we could wait for surgery because his second eye was good. A month later the other eye developed the same issue. I have had a lot of dogs in my life, but never one with as much personality as Bear. There is nothing better than when he brings his favorite toy to us every morning, whenever we come home, or if he just gets a spurt of energy. When he was a puppy we got him a carpet that we can hide treats in and he still loves it more than anything over a year later - with or without treats.
Troggdor
Troggdor is a 11-year-old Short Haired Tabby in Colorado Springs, CO, who needs $4,000 for cyst removal.

Her name is Troggdor and she rescued me 10 years ago. In 2009, I was called to serve in Baghdad. I had been in Iraq for 2 months when I got the news that my cat, Gwen, had been diagnosed with cancer. It spread quickly and his quality of life deteriorated faster than I thought imaginable. Treatment was not an option. Gwen’s caretaker while I was deployed, Jeremy, comforted him until he passed away. Grieving while being deployed was not easy. The stress of my reality of being in an active war zone compiled with my grief of my loss made each day tougher than the last. I could feel myself slipping. Jeremy must have sensed it and found someone who had newborn kittens who needed a home. He sent me pictures but I wasn’t interested; however, eventually I agreed. I needed a kitty to home to. She rescued me and I am panicking. How can I rescue her? Where do I go from here? I absolutely cannot resort to economic euthanasia. Please. Please help me rescue Troggdor. She has a cyst in her stomach. To quote the vet, “I have never seen a cyst this large in a cat. It’s pushing on her kidneys so much so, that we couldn’t find her left kidney in the ultrasound.” The vet drained the cyst. Troggdor felt like her happiest self again. But it quickly refilled. I had a multitude of tests done. “You really need to consider surgery before it damages her organs.” Over the next couple months, I watched her grow through photos and videos. She was so sweet. I couldn’t wait to meet her and we took to each other immediately. She loves to play fetch with her toy bird (see video) and help me study. She’s travelled with me from Germany, to the Azores, Alaska, and now Colorado with her dog sister Kyoko. Troggdor rescued me. And now I need help rescuing her.
Freddie

Freddie was born with his sister, Zilly in the backyard of the home I had purchased 6 years ago. He is a smart, sweet kitty who loves to communicate vocally with both myself & daughter. When my teenage daughter & I argue he comes between us & vocally scolds us until we stop. It’s amazing! He’s very protective of his territory & especially his sister. He enjoys snuggling & being pampered with his paw pads massaged. He is a special, unique gift in our lives & we love him dearly.

Piper was abandon by her mom. She was born blind. I found her when she was 1 day old. She is about 5 weeks old now & up until last night was very active & a happy kitten. She plays all the time & is very smart. Last night one of her eyes ruptured and she needs emergency help. I took Piper to a vet last week & the vet said she needs surgery that I can't afford. Piper could die & she's a fighter. Piper is such a sweet spirited kitten. If you're sad, she puts her paw on your lips and licks you. Even though she is blind she doesn't let it slow her down. She potty trained so fast and loves to play. She is super smart and wants to live a happy and full life. When all the odds was against her she meowed so load and non stop because she wanted to be seen that's how she got her name Piper. I have been out of work for a while I was doing odd jobs but the pandemic had really messed things up. I have been caring for Piper 24-7 since I found her. I was homeless for about a year and then finally got a place and I'm trying to get back on my feet. Piper was born blind the vet said the bulging eyes are inclination and adventually will need to be removed when she gets older but last night one of the eyes ruptured and it could be fatal she could be septic and died. She needs this survey in the next 24 hours and I can't find anyone to set up a payment plan She play attacts her favorite stuffed animal and she is very curious but when it's night time she loves to snuggle and love on me. She always wants her belly rubbed and loves her bottle to much. She litter boxes teianed really easy and hates bath time. She likes to follow me around while I do house work always wants to help me
Igor

Igor is a dog that was transferred into our shelter from a high volume shelter in California. We brought him into our program to give him a second chance at life and a loving home. We believe he is around four years old, and his estimated breed is a Cairn Terrier/Mix. We have been working with Igor to get him neutered, vaccinated, and otherwise ready for his new family. Igor may take a little more time to warm up to his new family than some other dogs. We have been working hard to make him comfortable and healthy. Shelter staff is making sure to give him extra love and attention to help him come out of his shell. We have seen him make some great progress towards learning to trust, and are very excited to see how far he has come since arriving in our shelter. We rely on grants, our partner thrift shops, pet store sales, and the generosity of the public for donations. Donations help us stretch our funding to help even more pets in need. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a negative effect on some aspects of our fundraising. Igor was treated at Broadway Animal Hospital and is recovering very well! He was treated after shelter staff noticed he was lethargic and experiencing bloody stools. He was rushed to Broadway Medical Hospital for emergency treatment and was hospitalized overnight. He was treated and given fluids, and given a special food to help him get back to full health. Igor is a very special guy! We have been working with him a lot since his arrival in order to help him adjust to life with loving people, and are so proud of his transformation so far. We know he will make a great, loving companion once he finds his forever family. He is going to make someone very, very happy!
