I was taking care of my mother who was blind. I told a friend that I was "thinking" about getting a cat for my mother. She came by the next day with Cleo and one look at those eyes, I couldn't say no. She fell in love with my other cat instead. They were besties until we lost Orion passed recently.

River is a 6-year-old Hound mix in Knoxville, TN, who needs $2,000 for surgery to repair damaged tendons and muscles.

We got river after I had heart surgery and major complications and within 6 mos of that lost my father. He was a rescue but he rescued us at a time we needed and didnt realize. He is my cardiac walking buddy and motivates me to stay healthy. I cannot explain how much love he has brought to our home.

My name is Paula and l am mum to 5 rescues, 4 doxies and 1 Cheweenie. I take the old fur babies that no one wants and smother them with love and attention. Lola came to me this July, she was found wondering the streets of New York from there she went to a rescue in California and from there to me in North Idaho. I am Lola’s forever mum. Lola has been through a lot, 5 weeks ago she had to have all her teeth but 2 removed, she does have an enlarged heart and a heart mummer. The biggest problem now is the rock hard baseball size growth that she has on her belly, l really need to get it removed to give her better quality of life and hopefully extend her life, I just can’t imagine our lives without Lola in it.

Tippy and her owners came to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter looking for help after Tippy had picked a fight with the other dog in the home and came away with an injured eye. Unfortunately, her owners live on a fixed income and couldn't afford her veterinary care. The "Fix It Shop" at the Shelter agreed to help this little girl get the care she needed. Now, we are working together to help raise the funds needed to cover her medical expenses.

Justice is a 6-month-old American Pit Bull terrier in Franklin, OH, who needs $765 for surgical entropion repair.

I have another rescue that I named Liberty since I liberated her from going to the pound. Keeping with the theme I named him Justice. I rescued him when he was only 4 weeks old. Since then he has had 3 surgeries and has been given all of his shots. He has is a very loving puppy. You would think he would hate going to the vet but he loves him. He can hardly wait to get into the building when he realizes where we are. He is the best rescue I have ever done. He is my baby boy. He sleeps with me and goes everywhere I go. He loves everybody. He does not know what a stranger is. The only danger anyone would be in from him is being licked to death. I am with him all day since I am unable to work. Most of the time he is laying on my lap. He is 5 months old now so my lap if getting to small for him so he will lay sideways.

My son Yogi has been with me for 10 years now. I was alone when I first moved out and adopted him from animal services as a puppy. He has been by my side through everything that I have gone through and it always there to comfort me. He is also a service animal since I suffer from sever panic attacks. I can't imagine not having him around. He may be 10 but has been perfectly healthy, his organs are working and its not his time to go yet.
King
King is a 4-year-old American Pitbull Terrier in Gatesville, TX, who needs $594 for heartworm treatments.

King was picked up as a stray by the Gatesville Animal Control officer's in the middle of August. He was microchipped but the Owner didn't want him so they relinquished him to the city to find him a new loving home. Bar N works with the shelter and he had an ear infection and was coughing as well as some skin issues so they brought him in for an exam and that's when we found him to be Heartworm positive.

Ten years ago in the town of St Margarets, England, my step-daughter and her mother adopted Atticus (when she was nine years old). Atticus was her first real pet, and she was so beyond excited to introduce an animal into her home, as you can imagine most kids are when adopting an animal. When they went to see him for the first time she remembered him curled up in the corner of the room, just a little black ball of fluff with big blue eyes and a tiny, squeaky meow. It was clear to them at the time that he was quite a timid kitten as he was not used to being held by humans, this was slightly worrying at the time but it did not change their minds about Atticus, they knew it had to be him.

Tucker is an 11 year old lab mix that loves to run, swim, and play fetch. I've had him since he was a new pup, and he has traveled all over the East Coast with me. Tucker gets along with every dog he's ever met, but really loves his human friends most:) He's a great travel buddy and always knows how to comfort his owner when they are having a stressful week. The loyalty of a dog is unmatched and I am now returning the favor.
