Tucker is an 11 year old lab mix that loves to run, swim, and play fetch. I've had him since he was a new pup, and he has traveled all over the East Coast with me. Tucker gets along with every dog he's ever met, but really loves his human friends most:) He's a great travel buddy and always knows how to comfort his owner when they are having a stressful week. The loyalty of a dog is unmatched and I am now returning the favor.

Roy was rescued from an abusive home when he was approximately 7 months old. He was too scared to make a sound for 1.5 years and I thought his vocal cords had been cut. He finally got excited and yipped one day, scared himself so bad he wet himself. It took him a very long time to be comfortable with making sounds but he now barks when the other dog barks. He will only play by chasing his tail...until he sees you watching, then he thinks he's in trouble and stops. I can't get him to play with any toys. He is approximately 11 years old and my 24 year old son is his world!! Roy doesn't really care about the other dogs, but he don't know how to act if he can't be with my son (and visa versa) he has extreme separation anxiety. He goes from my son's bathroom door to me, back and forth, crying the entire time my son is in the bathroom. I lost my 16 year old toy poodle on June 4, 2018 and that was Roy's buddy until my son moved back in with me in 2017. My son has Cerebral Palsy, a cardiac condition, and major depressive disorder - to name a few, and Roy is his companion. They are always together. What we are going through right now is hard on me, but more-so on him, because of this. Even though I have had his teeth cleaned multiple times, with this breed, bad mouths are common and he has had some teeth removed. He lost one at home on it's own in the same location as one that was pulled and his jawbone no longer had support and has broken.

I found Junior in the middle of a street about 7 years ago. He was infested with fleas and had puffy paint in his ear. He wasn't chipped or fixed. After about 15 minutes of growling at me while I kneeled in the middle of the street, he finally walked up up my knees into my arms. Junior has been attached to me ever since.

Yes! Ruca (pronounced “roo-kah”) still lives with us (Kate & Aly) in South Kingstown, RI. I am a teacher & Aly is a carpenter. In the winter of 2016, we decided we were ready to welcome a dog into our family. We knew we wanted an active rescue dog who was in need of a loving home. We named Ruca after the surf company (RVCA) and the Sublime song (“Waiting for my Ruca”) in hopes that he would embody the active, warm and joyful energy that is found at the beach. Ruca came up on the “puppy truck” from Arkansas and experienced his first surf and snow that same winter at Narragansett Beach! Within minutes of meeting Ruca, you’ll realize, he is one in a million—happy, smart, funny, caring, joyful. We couldn’t ask for a better pup!

Our Jack was from a rescue group. He was over 1 when we got him. They said he had been met four times with no luck on his forever family. I met him for the first time at the dog park. He was amazing!!! We brought him home and he fit right in with our others. He is a total love bug. A total lap baby. Loves you to hold him like a baby on his back. He sleeps with us every night. 😊❤️ He started having problems and it has been found that he is in need of surgery. He was fine when we got him and I started noticing him having problems. They said it was a genetic defect. They don’t see many of these. His eppiglotis gets stuck and causes him to have swallowing and breathing issues. He has him on medicines to help with his panic attacks. Also on steroids. I know he would benefit from having the surgery the vet specialist is talking about. We love him more than anything. He is our family member. ❤️ Breaks our hearts to see him struggling like this. Two years old is not old. We would love to have him many more years. ❤️😊😊

Meet Marley. He was rescued at about 1 1/2 weeks old when his mom abandoned the litter. His brother unfortunately didn't survive even with vet intervention. Marley had the strength and will to live. He took to the bottle like a little piggy and was on antibiotics and Terramycin. His eyes were completely sealed over with gunk when he was found and after a week of warm rags and treatments, we were finally able to clear them. However the left never fully healed. When he went in to get neutered, we had the vet look at it. They did a quick once over and said it was a scratch, more antibiotics and continue with the eye ointment. After 2 weeks, there was no difference and his eye constantly has gunk build up. We took him in to the vet again and they did a more thorough exam. They noticed his eye has minimal visibility and is basically shrunken compared to the other causing the eyelids to roll in. This is causing them to scratch his eye and giving him extreme discomfort. All the hardship he has had in his first 5 months of life hasn't stopped him from being the strong, handsome love-bug that he is today. He loves to play with his adoptive sister (another abandoned kitten from the colony), and snuggle up with my parents at night.

Theo was a Christmas present for my seven year old daughter. For them it was love at first sight and they are inseparable, he follows her around everywhere. He waits for her to come home from school and comes running to the door when she gets home, he even cuddles with her at night while she is sleeping.

Karuna stole my heart in April 2011. Back then, she was a puppy named "Alison" who was living in a foster home. I knew i wanted her to be mine so i adopted her. Since then, she's been my hiking partner, kayak companion, road trip passenger, leg/foot warmer, little spoon(when she lets me), pillow-hogger, and part-time yogi. Runa loves exploring and meeting new people and puppies.
