Charley

I got Charley about a year ago when a from a friend of a friend who could no longer care for him and immediately fell in love. He is the most happy-go-lucky dog I've ever met! We bonded instantly and became inseparable. His friendship has touched my heart and changed my life forever! Unfortunately, Charley got out of the yard this morning and found his way to some not so friendly people/other animals and was attacked. I found my sweet boy laying against a fence crying in pain with a broken leg and several cuts on his face and extremities.

Bronx came to us as a stray with his brother Binx. They are very bonded and we are hoping to adopt them together. These boys were very shy when they first came to us and could barely be touched. They have made so much progress the last couple months, Bronx especially loves to be petted, brushed and spend time with people.

We adopted Bear, a lovable and active Lab mix, after we had lost Jackson, our 12.5 year old Redbone Coonhound to heart disease. Bear has brought so much joy and comfort to our lives, but he has been tasked with health issues of his own. Bear was diagnosed with parvovirus the same week he was scheduled to go to the vet for his first exam and vaccinations. The emergency vets and our primary veterinarian didn’t make us any promises, as parvo can easily go downhill, but with supportive care and help from my ICU nurse mom, he made a full recovery. Once we was better, he continued with his vaccines and well puppy visits with no issue. Bear spends much of his time during the work week on the farm with Mike where he can run and play and get all of the exercise that he needs. He is never deprived of treats and I make him peanut butter dog biscuits that he absolutely loves.
Watson
Watson is a 6-year-old Maine Coon cat in Gainesville, FL, who needs $2,000 for bladder stones and possible kidney stones.

Watson has been my baby since I adopted by at 8 weeks old from a shelter in Austin. He has helped me through multiple graduate programs and has moved across the country with me. I adore him even though he scratches me sometimes and pees on my floor. Grad school would be a lot harder without him by my side.

Bentley is a 9 year-old Pit Bull/Great Dane mix in Flanders, NJ, who needs $1,400 for cruciate ligament surgery.

Bentley was adopted at six months of age from a local shelter. He had been found on the streets. He has been a loving and loyal pet for the last nine years. He is like my third child, along with my son and daughter and a true member of the family. Four months ago he was playing in the house as he so often does and he started limping. We brought him to the vet and they told me he has a torn ACL on his right hind leg.

Halloumi, nicknamed "Hal" was rescued in January from Shawano, Wisconsin. She was found abandoned in a campground, covered in mud. This sweet girl was cleaned up, spayed, as well as vaccinated before I adopted her the end of January, 2019. Halloumi absolutely loves to play, chasing a foam ball up and down the hallway being a favorite. She loves to be petted, held, and of course, cat nap.
Zeus
Zeus is a 6-year-old Boston Terrier in Providence, RI, who needs $2,000 for vaccines, dental work, eye evaluations, and treatments to gain weight.

Zeus was found in Mississippi in some of the most horrible condition you can imagine. He was completely skin and bone, covered with thousands of maggots, blind and all his nails removed. This poor dog has a long road to go, but we are determined to help him as he really deserves it after all he has been through.

Uma joined us at Sequoia Humane Society in mid-April. Coming from another shelter in California, Uma has already been through so much, and done so with such grace! Uma is loved by all in the shelter - she has even won over the affections of the kennel technicians and front office staff alike. A friendly girl all-around, Uma came to us in need of mass removals, as well as a spay and her vaccinations. Fortunately, Uma's news has a happy ending! This lady is cancer-free as far as we know, and on the road to recovery!
Marika
Marika is an 8-year-old Lhasa Apso mix in Eureka, CA, who needs $661 for the removal of a mass and for dental extractions.

This is Marika. She came to us in a transfer from a high-volume shelter in California. At eight years old, we found Marika in need of several medical treatments, including multiple dental extractions, multiple mass removals (accompanied by a biopsy), and a spay procedure. In addition to her more major treatments, we also made sure that Marika will be ready for her forever home by microchipping, vaccinating, and deworming her while she is here.
