Margaret
Margaret is a 3-year-old Pitt Bull-Hound mix in New Britain, CT, who needs $2,000 for the treatment of a serious chest wound.

Meet Margaret, or more commonly known as Maggie, Mags, Marg, Pig, or Maggie Waggie Waggerson. Maggie is a 3 year old Pitt/hound mix that was rescued from a shelter in TN. Maggie’s parents immediately feel in love with her gentle demeanor and her somewhat silly over sized ears. On Dec 19th Maggie was outside minding her own business when her friend Mr. Woodchuck came out to say hello, naturally she wanted to greet him. While running to say hello Maggie was impaled by an object causing severe trauma to her neck, chest cavity and lung.
Yogi
Yogi is 3-year-old shih tzu/Maltese mix in Covina, CA, who needs $400 for testing and treatment for an eye infection.

I love Yogi with all my heart. He’s the son of my Grandma’s dog, Schafer & Rolli (my Uncle’s dog). Yogi is a such a sweet loving dog! He minds so well it brings tears to my eyes. He is truly a loyal, obedient dog. He’s a very playful loving handsome dog. He loves to go for walks.. He is also a huge fan of cuddling. He loves to cuddle and get his belly rubbed.
Lefty
Lefty is a 3-year-old Sheltie/Aussie mix in Wichita, KS, who needs $1,244 for heartworm treatment.

Lefty along with his sister Tess were surrendered to Kansas K-9 ResQ after the tragic death of one of the owners. Both were taken to the vet for their exams and vaccines. That is when we got the bad news that Lefty tested positive for heartworms. He was an indoor dog before the tragedy, but then was forced to live outdoors for about 6 months all while going unprotected against heartworms.

Buckskin is 7-year-old terrier mix in West Haven, CT, who needs $885 for two mass removals and a biopsy.

I first met Bucky when he was just born. I did not plan on getting another dog after my 8 year old French Brittany passed from a tragic accident. Since I saw the little ball of buckskin-colored fur, he stole my heart. He is my best boy and protector and we do pretty much everything together! We met his best friend when we first moved to West Haven on a walk, another pitbull named Bllue who is deaf. He loves to go for walks with Blue and swim in the ocean. His favorite times are when we go for a ride in the car; he stands up an sticks his head out of the sunroof and sniffs the air. It always makes me smile when I see onlookers notice his big ol'head sticking out and see them smile and point at him with delight. He loves his grammy and grampy and their dog Luna. We all used to live together so he and Luna are good friends. Our favorite place to go to is a hike along the river a few towns over; its our "woo-sah" time.
Vader
Vader is 4-year-old domestic shorthair cat in New York City who needs $814 for urgently needed dental care.

K9Kastle pulled Vader from the NYCACC about a year ago. He was ataxic and had had a seizure while in the shelter. K9Kastle loves the wobbly kitties! He hasn't had a seizure while with with us, but he's still a little wonky. While not officially diagnosed, we are reasonably certain he has something called hyperesthesia, which is related to seizures....you've probably met a kitty with it but just thought he was a bit of nut (that describes Vader, certainly!) He will hop up dart out of the room (with his little bunny hop) and then stop and try to bite his back.
Shadow
Shadow is 7-year-old Lab mix in Littleton, CO, who needs $2,000 for repair of a torn ligament in one knee.

Since returning from the service, Shadow has meant everything to me and my family. I have a wife and three daughters, and Shadow is not just a pet, Shadow is a family member. We decided to go to the dog pound on our way to the zoo one day and we came home with Shadow. Our lives are forever changed for the better.
Scurry
Scurry is a 9-month-old Chihuahua mix in Lexington, SC, who needs $157 for neutering, heartworm-testing, and microchipping.

Scurry was found abandoned on the lot at the car auction where I work. Our beloved office manager's name was Ginger Scurry (she passed after a very long, hard battle with cancer) and he just reminded me of her, so Scurry is what we started calling him. He's petite, has the same color hair, is fiesty and moves very fast.. all qualities we loved about her. I'm currently fostering him in my home and have been for around 8 weeks, however really just can't take care of him and have not had any luck finding him a forever home.
Watson
Watson is 6-year-old Puggle in Arvada, CO, who needs $2,000 for weekly physical therapy for a year.

I first saw Watson on Petfinder in January and became his foster mom in July. He was injured in January and relinquished after a spinal cord injury when his family could not afford his medical care. Planet Pet cared for him and helped him adjust to his injury, allowing him to become mobile with the use of a cart. He is a determined and resilient dog who loves life. He is currently in Physical Therapy and water therapy weekly and making great progress. He has some feeling in his feet and is now able to stand for several seconds. His special needs mean he is incontinent and needs his bladder expressed every two hours. He uses a cart for mobility but needs to be carried in and out of the house and car. He sleeps in a bed next to mine and is ready for the day at 5:00 AM. I do his PT exercises daily to strengthen his muscles. I have 3 senior female Puggles who have welcomed him into our home. He loves the outdoors and walks. He is in training to be a therapy dog to help others. He has the special ability to bring joy to all who meet him. Watson is truly a remarkable dog and deserves the chance to recover his strength and mobility to whatever degree he can. The progress he has made in his therapy is so encouraging. The specialized care he has received from K-9 Body Shop, a rehabilitative center for canines has been instrumental in this progress. We would love to see him be able to continue the level of care that he has received through continued donations. I will continue to implement the therapy program at home so he receives the maximum benefit from his biweekly sessions.
Hazel
Hazel is loving 11-year-old pit bull mix in Stamford, CT, who needs $2,000 for surgery and chemotherapy to treat her cancer.

Hazel found herself at a local shelter at 11 years old after her owners decided they could no longer care for her. She was hours from being euthanized because of her medical issues (unknown at that time as the shelter only does minimal diagnostics) when PPR stepped in and saved her. Once she arrived at our primary care vet, she underwent testing of her masses along with chest x-rays and an abdominal ultrasound. The diagnosis was mast cell cancer - and it had invaded into one of Hazel's lymph nodes.
