Nubbz
Nubbz is a 4 month old German Shepherd Dog in Chico, CA, who needs $1,500 for Puppy Exam, Vaccinations, and Deworming.
CHICO, CA
Nubbz came into our lives a little less than 1 month ago, after being left on the side of the road along with her twin sister Tailz. We don't know Nubbz exact age, but she is roughly 3-4 months old. She has filled our hearts with so much love. Nubbz got her name because the previous owners cut her tail, leaving her with just a little nub, melts my heart even more when she wags it. Nubbz is not feeing well. She has been vomiting up worms (looks like spaghetti noodles). She also is in need of her vaccinations. The hospital that is willing to treat her is Riverwood Veterinary Hospital in Chico, CA. Nubbz is the sweetest, loving puppy we've ever had. We can tell that she has been through some trauma's in her past by the way she clings to her sisters side. She is really well behaved and loves to play with her sister. They spend most the day arguing and pickering back and forth. They stick together like glue, cuddle each other, and follow each other everywhere. I am a single mother of 5, recently disabled and living off a fixed income. I struggle to make ends meet. I am a domestic violence survivor, and welcomed Nubbz and Tailz into my home, knowing that they would never let anybody hurt me or my kids ever again.

Nala
Nala is a 10-month-old Dutch Shepherd in Forest Ranch, CA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Forest Ranch, CA
We adopted Nala from the local shelter when she was 3 months old! We were really wanting to get a puppy to grow up with our new baby boy, so we adopted her 1 month before we had the baby so that she could get comfortable with up prior to having the baby. She was in foster care for her first 3 months before she came home with us. She is so sweet and gentle with the baby and with all of us. She follows her Mom, Sunya, everywhere and gets so excited to see her dad and sister when they get home! She is the best dog in the world! Nala is the sweetest, most loving, playful pup we have ever met! She is so loyal and fun. She would play all day every day if she could! She absolutely loves the snow and chasing sticks! She's a water dog and an adventurer. We love taking her everywhere with us and she loves being close to us all the time! The vet at Riverwood noticed a very slight limp on her back right leg when we took her in for vaccinations. We watched 5 month old Nala closely and didn't see the limp and she ran and played hard which made us think that she was okay, and financially it would have been hard with the new baby, so we didn't go back. About a month ago now, she began limping badly and now she can't even stand on that leg Since we had the baby, money has been very tight. Nala was recently bit by a rattlesnake and we borrowed the money to pay for that because her pet insurance pays back 90%. But since the vet noticed the limp prior to us getting pet insurance, they will not cover this.

Mochi
Mochi is a 3-year-old Cat in Chico, CA, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.
Chico, CA
Mochi was rescued from wags and whiskers in Chico California. When she was first adopted she was not healthy and had to have many trips to the vet to get her to feel better. Despite these many visits she is still having issues with her health and requires surgery to hopefully feel better once and for all. After she will be able to lounge, play, and love in our home we share. Mochi begins her day by scratching at the carpet to wake us up. Such a cute reliable alarm clock! Once she knows we heard her she’ll come lay in bed with us as we begin to wake up. She follows us into the living room where she is given a scoop of her favorite foods and fresh water. The rest of her day entails lounging, singing, and keeping us company. She ends the day with dinner and a nap. Mochi is special for so many reasons. Her patience for everything is truly inspiring and she shows how much she loves us everyday by spending time with us and cuddling when she can. She is an extra sleepy cat but that may be due to her illness so we will see how things change after the surgery. She’s a little serious too but we think that makes her extra cute! Mochi has had health issues for the entire time we have been with her. It’s taken time but we’ve learned to care for her and we love her very much. Her veterinarian recently noticed her spleen was looking damaged and decayed and hopes that removing it will help her to feel as good as she can. We hope so too. At this time only one of us is employed and the other is finishing up college so extra financial strain is difficult with all other expenses in life. We ultimately just want Mochi healthy again because she means so much to us. We will do whatever we can to help her.

Hank
Hank is a 11-year-old American Pit Bull in Chico, CA, who needs $1,500 for a mass removal.
Chico, CA
On May 14, 2009, Hank was brought into this world from his mother Nala and father Titan (beautiful pit bulls owned by Steve's childhood friend). Hank joined us 8 weeks later on July 7, 2009 as our first family pet soon after Kadin's 5th birthday and right before Silas' 3rd. He has been a best friend to all of us since then (but mostly Steve). After moving into a new home in 2011, we believed Hank was lonely so we adopted his sister Bailey, a black lab from the shelter and they do everything together. Hank loves to be in the house and be next to one of us. He loves going for walks, running free in the park and diving for rocks in the creek. He sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of our bed (or sometimes on the floor next to Steve). We recently adopted a puppy from the shelter, George who has brought so much joy to us all but especially Hank. They play together every day and Hank still loves to walk and go to the creek. We are not ready and we believe Hank is not ready to leave our family. We love him! In late September, we noticed a mass growing and thought it was a simple issue of needing Hank's anal glands expressed. When the doctor called and explained it might be cancer, we were shocked. We paid for blood/urine tests, x-rays and cytology of the mass and Hank was diagnosed with anal gland adenocarcinoma on 10/20/20. All About Pets provided an estimate for mass removal between $2,540-$3,042. What Hank enjoys doing the most is diving for rocks in the creek. He will stick his entire head in the water for several seconds to get the one he wants, bring it on land next to us, shake, then repeat. He gets so excited to run into the water that he's taken a couple of us down on the way:-) He's definitely afraid of thunder and fireworks. He has a favorite hiding place under the dining table.
