Maxine

Maxine is a 0 year old Manx in Marion, NC, who needs $800 for Wound Treatment and Removal of Maggots.

Marion, NC

Early Saturday morning my grandson called me all upset he had found a cat at his house that he believes what he had been hearing for 3 days in ditch across from his house. She was brought into his home to access what was going on with her medically. First thing he noticed what seems like pellets in her back upon further checking as he checked out her belly she became highly agitated and bit him superficial. He noticed she had a wound as big as couple dollar coins that had maggots in it.. I started treatment of antibotics and sprayed with a manuka honey spray til I could get help at Animal Hospital of Marion I couldn't ket her go without a name so I call her Maxine even though she is showing signs of being deaf. She will not survive her wounds with no care she is the sweetest cat ever. Even though she has to be in pretty bad pain she still is purring She is a rescue who needs our help im financially strapped as I had a medical emergency on last Monday with my own dog. So if you could help this precious soul that would be so awesome

Sir Frances

Sir Frances is a 2 year old American Shorthair in Marion, NC, who needs $300 for Antiparasitic Medication, Topical Steroids, and More.

MARION, NC

I found Sir Frances as I was walking home from the store. It had been raining and he was underneath a bush crying. He was so small and barely old enough to walk. He had a voice that was loud for such a small guy. Naturally I meowed back and he started stumbling over to me. We've been together every since. We live in a trailer, and he comes in and out as he pleases, he's definitely a momma's boy. The problem he is having started with ear mites. Then he developed a hematoma in his right ear. The past day or so it has become urgent. Now he has the ear mites and severe ear infection that has lead to inner ear balance issues. He cant even stand up now. He is constantly crying in pain. I do believe that his ear drum has potentially ruptured as well. I will be using the Animal Hospital of Marion He loves talking to people, and loves boxes. He follows me everywhere I go, walking right beside me, and will stand on his hind legs and reach for me to pick him up just like a child would do. Ill cradle him in my arms and he falls right asleep every time with a big grin on his face. He is my baby, my son, my child, and seeing him laying there in pain hurts me so much. I am not able to work because I have been going through surgeries to treat cervical cancer, endometriosis, and kidney failure. I have tried to get help from my local DSS, to no avail. He keeps me alive, and I can't and won't give up on him. I need help before it's too late.

Marion, NC • Mercy Fund Animal Rescue, Inc.

Meet our sweet boy Loki. Loki is a Pitbull who was rescued by Mercy Fund Animal Rescue. This boy was set to be euthanized and Mercy rescued him in the last hour. Loki is one of Mercy’s “forever fosters” and will remain in Mercy’s care his whole life. However, Loki has two kind forever foster parents who give him a permanent loving home – and his foster dad even sits with him while he eats (and chicken is Loki’s favorite food!). His foster mama describes him as a sweet, complicated guy who is too smart for his own good! Because of the trauma and displacement Loki experienced, he developed severe anxiety issues which prevent him from being up for adopted. But, Mercy brought Loki into their forever fosters which gives him a chance a happy and thriving life. Last week, Loki had severe weakening of his legs and had an emergency vet visit which found tumors on his spleen. Loki had to have emergency surgery to remove his spleen to prevent it from rupturing which would have taken our sweet boy Loki’s life. We need your help! Mercy covers Loki’s medical expenses as one of our forever foster pups and Loki’s medical care through this is $2,000. Any amount is Loki is a special boy with a long life in front of him! He is cared for and brings his forever foster parents love and joy. These medical procedures avoided an organ rupture and taking Loki from us. He now has a shot at continuing on in his joyful life!
