Amadeus Bijou is a rescue from Paw Warriors, located in Spring Hill, Florida. He came from a feral colony & was in 2 different shelters for 18 months & had a badly injured leg which was healed when I adopted him. I have had him for 3weeks. He is very sweet, but still in his safe spot under the bed. He allows me to pet him,scratch his head & touch his paws. Although I have many toys, scratchers, & beds for him, Amadeus feels secure under my bed & hasn't used any of these things yet. He loves our petting sessions as long as he is in his safe spot. He is going to take a while to learn to completely trust me. He has never had a home or love so patience is required. We went straight to my vet after I picked him up for a complete check up. I have not had him long enough for us to share very much. He loves to eat even though he is in pain with his mouth. He will stretch his 2 front legs towards me, purr, & tap my arm for more pets. He does come out at night to explore. Amadeus Bijou has severe gum disease which requires him to have all of his teeth removed. His mouth smells really bad & I have him on gabapentin for pain. I only feed him wet food because of this. He is slightly anemic &underweight. Best Care Animal Hospital with Dr. Carla Channel will be doing his surgery. I wanted to cry when she showed me his mouth. His gums are bright red/swollen I am a 68 year old woman who has a anxiety disorder. I take medication for this & having a cat is emotional support for me. I just had to have my last kittie who was also a rescue euthanized 8 weeks ago. He was FIV + & had $4500 in vet bills for the short 2 years I had him

After the loss of our sweet Izzy we waited to bring another dog into our life. We visited Honor Animal Resuce and fell in love with Luna. I was pregnant at the time and thought it would be nice to have her at home with me and to grow up with the baby. Luna is a ball of energy, always! Runs around the house, jumps on and off the couch and chases her cat sister Amber around. Luna loves all people and enjoys walks around out loop in the neighborhood. She has been very protective over her new baby brother Luka as well. Luna shakes her booty and wags her tail at everyone she meets! She doesn’t like if you stop letting her while resting in bed or on the couch, and will cry until you pet her! Luna has been extremely healthy until suddenly this week. She had some minor throw up Monday and Tuesday, then Thursday stopped walking. Our friend and veterinarian Dr LePere at Best Care Animal Hospoital saw her right away, consulted with a neurologist at SCAN in Clearwater. They have diagnosed Luna with Myasthenia Gravis. She has aspirating pneumonia and megaesophagus. She is still hospitalized. Our family also has a special needs child born at 28 weeks, about 12 months ago who spent 109 days in the NICU. We are not prepared to care for a special needs dog now as well but want to do our best to try.
