Buddy
Buddy is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Sycamore, IL, who needs $4,700 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO).
Sycamore, IL
Buddy and his seven littermates came to us as fosters—their mom was too young when she had them and rejected all of them. Right away, we felt a connection with Buddy, eventually adopting him. He currently lives with his three pack-mates, five cats, three human siblings, and his human mom & dad. Buddy was playing with one of his pack-mates when one of them ran into him (he was watching a bunny and not paying attention). He is not overly dramatic about pain, so when he refused to put weight on his leg, we knew something was wrong. We took him to Bethany Animal Hospital, our go-to vets for over 20 years, who confirmed he has a torn CCL. Buddy is the sweetest, silliest little boy. He has the most handsome features and uses them to his benefit (you should see his puppy eyes!). He is tall & lanky and still somewhat awkward in his own body. He likes to lay with his front paws crossed (like the distinguished gentleman that he is), and he is the glue that holds the whole pack together. In March of this year, his little (dog) brother had to have emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction. This unexpected expense depleted our savings and we have been trying to replenish it since, but with human health expenses and car repairs, it is slow going.

Apollo
Apollo is a 1 year old German Shepherd Dog in Malta, IL, who needs $2,000 for FHNO Surgery & Supportive Care.
Malta, IL
Apollo was adopted from our local humane society in March of this year after our family lost our 13 year old soul rescue to kidney cancer and DIC. Apollo was an owner surrender whose name was Maverick - which was our beloved late boys name. In our grief, we knew it was a sign. I scooped him before he was even "available." Our broken hearts knew that we needed him as much as he needed us. Apollo has had a rough road. When we took him, he had giardia, he was severely malnourished, lacked muscle mass and was underweight. It was also noted he has carpal joint hyperextension in his front legs & limited hip mobility We took him to his vet after he started limping and it was determined he tore his ACL. That however isnt the worst of it - the xrays showed a severe case of hip dysplasia. Apollo is living up to our late boys legacy. Hes growing up with my 2 year old son and they are inseparable. Apollo helps me "herd" him and follows us everywhere. He sleeps with us every night. As a SAHM, hes my partner. Hes protective, alert, observant but also very gentle and social. Hes everything a German Sheperds temperament should be. We have CareCredit but with Mavericks cancer and end of life care & now Apollos medical we are maxed. I also inquired about pet insurance but it was determined that this surgery would be considered "pre-existing." We need help. We were not prepared financially all at once.

Brownie
Brownie is a 12 year old Chihuahua in Romeoville, IL, who needs $1,000 for Dental Procedure.
Romeoville, IL
Brownie basically came included with the house we purchased. The previous owners asked if we can keep him and we did. He currently lives with my partner and I, and our other dog lucky. He is almost 13 years old. He is a mixed dog, chihuahua and daschund. Brownie currently needs an intensive dental procedure, extractions and cleaning. He has a lot of teeth that need to be removed to ease his pain. One of his teeth unfortunately started protruding out, causing him to drool a lot, and not be able to eat his food properly. His procedure will be at Bethany Animal Hospital in Dekalb, IL. Brownie is such an amazing dog. He is so quirky in his own way. Loves to chase squirrels. At his old age, he is such a fast runner. Brownie loves cuddling, warm blankets, and of course soft treats. He has been with us for so long, and we want to be able to keep him comfortable as long as possible. My partner and I are both 20. We have minimum wage jobs, and have been working hard to save up as much as we can to pay for Brownie’s procedure. I recently lost the place i stayed at, and moved in with my partner’s family causing instability in my life.

Ripley
Ripley is a 8 year old Beagle in Kirkland, IL, who needs $2,000 for CCL Repair Surgery.
Kirkland, IL
Ripley is a very good boy who we adopted from our son when he was 15 months old in the summer of 2017. He needed more room which we were able to provide and he quickly became a cherished member of our family. We had two other dogs that were older and Ripley was quickly accepted. Ripley is healthy and happy but has a torn ACL in his rear left knee that happened in the last few weeks. His veterinarian at Bethany Animal Hospital tells us surgery is the only option to repair the knee. Ripley is a very gentle loving companion. He loves everyone, especially our six and nine year old grandsons. He doesn't look it but he's got a lot of Beagle in him so if he sees a critter outside his Beagle baying (howling) makes it quite obvious. He's a good boy and we love him very much. The last couple years have been very rough financially. Between a drop of business leading to significant pay cuts and mounting debt as a result, we really need some help to pay for Ripley's surgery 🙏

Jax
Jax is a 7-year-old Pitbull in Sycamore , IL, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Sycamore, IL
Jax came into my life as a rehome rescue when he was 3. He had been a stray on the street for a while and had been through 3 families before me. The family before me left him outside for 4 years and that is where he stayed. I had to go get him asap as soon as I saw the rehoming post on facebook. If I did not pick him up he would’ve went to a shelter and more than likely been euthanized. Now that Jax has been with me for almost 4 years, he has been the most spoiled boy. He loves sleeping on you lap like he is 11 lbs but in reality he’s 56 lbs. He loves going into creeks and trotting around in the water. Jax has the most goofy personality from his snaggle tooth to his talking back. He loves to cuddle me and definitely loves to follow me around literally everywhere. Currently Jax has a lipoma on his shoulder that we did get checked out in January of 2023. At the time it was small and wasn’t supposed to grow. Recently the lipoma has grown to the size of a tennis ball and to the point where his skin is stretching and it could possibly burst. I have got quoted for his surgery at Bethany Animal Hospital in Sycamore. I just can’t provide the funds but cant wait I know the lipoma is simple and harmless but I would really appreciate getting it removed so it does not burst and caught a lot more issues than just being a lipoma. Over all he is a healthy dog and getting this removed would be another less worry.
