Zoey
Zoey is a 5 month old Mix-Breed in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,500 for Right Femoral Neck Repair and Trochanter Stabilization.
Grand Rapids, MI
I rescued Zoey from a not so ideal living situation. Coming from an over run house full of dogs. Where she spent most of her time in a cage not receiving attention or proper care. Zoey fell of a high camper bed a month ago and broke her back right femur and dislocated her trochanter. We have been waiting desperately for the surgery as we try and figure out funding and grants. We are just 500.00 shy of theu down deposit and the surgery is scheduled for June 16th 2026. Zoey is so smart and has such a cute quirky personality. She loves to play. Id be so lost without her. I worry what may happen if we cant get her leg repaired in time. I am a full-time college student and and trying my best to make ends meet. My parents have paid for the diagnostics testing and surgery consultations and support pain meds to date. Zoey has helped me so much emotionally with school since I've had her.

We went to jar get his sister to adopt for my mom and we now have both. He follows you everywhere you go and has to be with his humans at all times. I have never met a more loving and sweet soul. Jangers
Jangers is a 8.5 year old Beagle in Buchanan, MI, who needs $4,195 for Melanoma Vaccine (Oncept).
Buchanan, MI
Jangers is an 8-year-old beagle who has been the heart and soul of our family since we adopted him on August 21, 2018, just one day after his first birthday. I have worked for HSSJC since 2006, and all of our pets have come from the shelter. When my fiancé (now husband), Greg, mentioned wanting a beagle, I knew it wouldn’t be long before we found the perfect match, & Jangers was exactly that. Jangers was diagnosed in March 2026 with Oral Malignant Melanoma at Magrane Pet Medical Center. We were then referred to Dr. Christine Swanson, a veterinary oncologist, at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Jangers is currently undergoing immunotherapy vaccines but it is recommended he has an additional surgery and radiation therapy. Jangers is a gentle, affectionate dog who loves everyone he meets—children, seniors, other animals, and strangers alike. When he once slipped out, he calmly joined neighborhood kids for attention. He also serves as a community ambassador, visiting nursing homes, daycares, and outreach events, spreading comfort, joy, and compassion wherever he goes. Recent personal medical expenses plus ~$3,000 on CareCredit for Jangers’ care have created significant financial strain, making additional treatment costs difficult to manage. We are seeking help to provide Jangers care.

Coach
Coach is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog in Lowell, MI, who needs $7,000 for MRI, CT Scan, and X-rays.
Lowell, MI
Coach was an unexpected and “not sure I’m ready for this again” surprises I lost my last dog I rescued quickly. He was with me for 10 years and diagnosed with lymphoma. I went 2 years without a dog and was depressed. A friend said hey I have a pup left from a litter. When I looked in and she was just laying there waiting like “where ya been?” I knew it was time to open my heart again. Unfortunately this fun loving fur missle/part fish/part gazelle started having “atypical” symptoms in late Dec/jan where she began shaking her head like she had something in her ear and then her ear dropped on the right. Her first mri came back clean and they said epilepsy but the meds have given her severe anxiety and a second opinion thinks not epilepsy but wants a second mri of her whole spine. The neurologist at Blue Pearl have been so amazing! Coach is always at my side and travels the country with me going from horse show to show. When we’re not working we fly to Florida to visit my sister and we go boating, paddle boarding and scalloping. Before these “episodes” Coach was a road warrior. She still is the greeter of everywhere we go but the pain and anxiety is slowly getting to her I’ve already put 7k into diagnostics and 5 vets are puzzled and can’t agree. I’m tapped but have no answers and my dog shouldn’t suffer for my financial situation. I just want her to be comfortable and back to herself creating controlled chaos everywhere she goes.

Princeton "Prince"
Princeton "Prince" is a 18 Month Old Bernese Mountain Dog in Petoskey, MI, Who Needs $2,000 for Hospital Stay for 5 days and FHO Surgery with Plate.
Petoskey, MI
15 years ago I was medically retired from the hospital. When I got out I got a service dog who changed my life. She passed away from bone cancer 2 years ago the day after Christmas. I was crushed and I felt like a part of me died. I never thought I would find that love again. 6 months and dozens of puppies later my life was blessed again when Princeton became my new future service dog and hope. Today, a week before Thanksgiving, a woman knocks and tells me she hit a white dog. We rush him to the vet and it's the worst they have seen. Multiple hip fractures and they dont do the necessary sergery we are referred to Blue Pearl in Grand Rapids, MI. He will need an FOH and a plate or a full hip replacement. He has been training since he was about 5 months old However, he's the first puppy my husband and daughter have ever had and they spoil him mercilessly. He goes on all my delivery jobs with me and likes to have his paw held, it soothes us both. We are inseparable and both don't like being separated. I am supposed to be receiving a spinal neck fusion and he is a reason I want to get better. Because of my pending neck surgery for spinal stenosis I have been working ride share gigs. It's a weekend and not life threatening they won't perform any surgery for at least 5 days and he must be hospitalized and monitored the whole time. I need him to be ok my surgery bud

Winston
Winston is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Lowell, MI, who needs $1,500 for Growth Removal/Resection, Diagnostics, and Treatment.
Lowell, MI
Winston is a 4-year-old neutered male dog who lives with me in my sister’s basement. This has been our home since I was evicted from my previous residence following the end of a relationship nearly a year ago. Winston is primarily an indoor dog and lives alongside my other dog, Pete. He serves as my emotional support animal, providing daily comfort and stability during this period of transitional Winston is a 4-year-old neutered male dog and my emotional support animal. He is up to date on vaccinations and previously Erhlichia positive. Recently, he has shown increased bowel straining, and a tender bump near his rear end. His primary Veterinarian is The Animal Hospital Of Kentwood and Blue Pearl Pet Hospital he has an appointment in November. Winston is such a character - he pushes me out of bed each and every morning since coming into my life - he buries himself under the blanket to make sure you're sufficiently warm at night. He's a vocal lil guy who loves "pizza bones" (pizza crust) He is compassionate and loves his brother Pete more than most things and wont pass up the opportunity to push him around. He is Pete's older brother! Within the last year I was evicted and gone bankrupt last year due to unforeseen events with my now ex-partner. It ended abruptly and the fallout was messy and detrimental to my mental health and income. I've just started trying to get back on track before I found the lump.

Umbra
Umbra is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Grand rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for Perineal Urethrostomy.
Grand rapids, MI
At 3 AM on July 5th, in 2020 I was out with a friend trying to view a partial lunar eclipse because there was nothing to do because everything was canceled because of covid. We did not see any physical changes in the moon, suddenly this black tabby kitten walked up to us. It was like the shadow of the earth otherwise known as the umbra manifested as this kitten. This is how Umbra got his name. On labor day Umbra showed signs of a urinary obstruction. He was taken to Blue Pearl of Grand Rapids for emergency care to which he was relieved of the obstruction and kept overnight. He became obstructed again on Wednesday, requiring to be hospitalized again for 2 nights. Umbra again on Sunday was obstructed for a third time requiring to be hospitalized. Umbra is one of the most affectionate cats I've ever met. I'm proud he is one of my beloved babies. Always purring and always rubbing his head on me and my partner. Him and his "brother" Sherlock always greet me coming home from work and reminding me when it's time for dinner. He loves cozy cramp hiding spots and chasing after Nerf dart balls. He never fails to make me smile. Umbra being hospitalized 3 times in 1 week was not something I ever expected and was not prepared. I've had to max out a pet care credit card and more to ensure he got the treatment he needs. Having him gone has left a aching hole in my heart. My apartment is too quiet atm.

Sooie
Sooie is a 1.5 year old French Bulldog in Sparta, MI, who needs $14,000 for Surgery.
Sparta, MI
Sooie is a fun loving pet, but not only that shes a member of the family! She loves the kids and chickens all the same. She is about 1.5 years old and recently diagnosed with IVDD Recently diagnosed with IVDD, Sooie is having an extended stay at blue pearl animal hospital here in grand rapids Michigan. We are trying to get the funds for her surgery and diagnostic testing. The hospital said we need to do an MRI and Surgery following and she is unable to come home until these have taken place. Sooie has not been away from us since the day we brought her home, shes on all the trips, she goes to the park and the store and she was soon set to start her training to be a therapy dog. She brings joy and love and never fails to give it herself. We have done as much as we could to pay for the initial deposit for the care Sooie needs and we have made payments upwards of 6,000 for the first deposit and we are being faced with around 10,000-14,000 more to proceed with not only the testing and surgery but care after.

Daisy
Daisy is a 3 month old Labrador Retriever in Hastings, MI, who needs $5,000 for Parvo Treatment.
Hastings, MI
A friend from work had a litter of seven puppies, and I wanted a little girl. She was born on March 29. She came home and she was the happiest puppy. She gets along with both her big brother and her big sister.. She is such an energetic, happy puppy! Daisy got her first shots prior to coming to live with me on May 29. She went to the vet on June 24 and got another set of shots I had major surgery and had to leave her with a friend the week of July 8. This past week on Thursday, she came really ill and once I took her to that she tested positive for Parvo. She was set for her last set of vaccinations this coming Monday She has just an all-around happy dog. She came into the house from a litter of seven and was so energetic and so friendly. Daisy does not deserve what she’s going through, and I was following all the recommendations to help her vaccinated. I feel guilty because I had to have somebody watch her while I was in surgery. Was having surgery last week not working at this time. I go back to work in 2 to 3 weeks, I’ve already paid $6500 towards Daisy’s treatment and they just sent me another bill to pay $5000 more

Hikari
Hikari is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in ALLEGAN, MI, who needs $2,000 for Treatment of Life Threatening Infection.
ALLEGAN, MI
Hikari was surrendered to Allegan County Animal Shelter with her 7 puppies. The shelter vet spayed her, on Mon 6/2. I took her as a foster on Wed 6/4. Hikari developed a red patch near her incision which gradually got worse, until it ruptured, on Sat 6/7 around 7 pm. At 10 pm I checked the dressing I put on her and the wound had gotten worse. I rushed Hikari to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital. Blue Pearl discovered the spay area was infected and Hikari’s liver enzymes were elevated. The hospital bill came to $1,904.61, plus $49.24 and $10.13 for prescriptions. Her recheck revealed a double ear infection and skin infection, plus blood tests show a possible parasite infection. The checkup bill and medications total $483.47 Next up - fecal lab tests... Hikari is such a sweet girl! I can’t even begin to explain it. Just look at her eyes… She came to me, showing no interest in my other dogs, no interest in toys, no interest in peanut butter filled Kongs (a pack favorite). Now, she is happy and playful! She loves playing chase with her younger sister Harper and absolutely loves treat puzzle toys and peanut butter and pup cups. And walks! Sadly, because I took Hikari to the ‘wrong’ Emergency Vet, even though the shelter never told me what emergency vet to use, the shelter has refused to cover any of the bills. I put everything on my Care Credit and I am selling things, doing anything I can to cover the bills.

Pavlov
Pavlov is a 7 year old Boston Terrier in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for MRI or CT Scan as Follow-up to Radiation Treatment.
Grand Rapids, MI
Pavlov has been bringing joy, snuggles, and love into my life and home for 7 years. She loves everyone she meets and will snuggle any and all visitors. Children have referred to her as “the tye-dye dog” due to her unique coloring. She is reverse brindle, which makes her look a lot like she has tiger stripes. She lives at home with her mom and “little sister” (a boxer more than twice her size). Pavlov was seemingly extremely healthy until she very unexpectedly began having seizures on March 18.After seeing multiple doctors over the last few weeks, she was diagnosed with a meningioma which is creating the seizures due to pressure in the brain. She has seen various vets at Animal Emergency Hospital in Grand Rapids, Eastown Vet, Blue Pearl Pavlov loves being held like an infant, affection, and peanut butter. She has learned to open inside doors by using her tongue (bathrooms are a lot less private). She is a documented Emotional Support Animal who has helped me manage my PTSD and severe Major Depression. She has greatly enhanced my quality of life these last 7 years, and I would not been able to manage my disabilities without her. Pavlov has received radiation treatment for a meningioma. She will require additional imaging in September to evaluate treatment success and next steps.

Obi Wan
Obi Wan is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for Brain Lesion Treatment.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI
We adopted Obi in March of 2022 at 11 months old. He was originally Bowie. My husband wanted Obi since he is a Star Wars fan. He is a very sweet boy with an old soul. Obi took 30 minutes to warm up to us but my husband didn’t want to leave without him. He was the first dog we met while looking to adopt. Obi has had Diarrhea and vomiting that led to many vet visits. In March he had an eye issue that led to us thinking he was having a seizure. Vet told us it wasn’t. In April he kept vomiting, stopped eating his food and peeing inside. Super lethargic. He kept loosing his balance and sway to one side. We took him in and was told he may have a brain lesion. MRI & spinal tap-still waiting for results. Obi is chill and doesn’t play much. He loves butt and belly rubs. He is obsessed with food and will “Chirp” until you give him a treat. It sounds like a raptor from Jurassic park. He will whine until he gets a place on the couch. If you leave your spot he will take it immediately. He has to be the center of attention. His temperament is amazing. Sniffing is his favorite after food and sleep. Fixed income. Still paying off debt when my husband was laid off from the factory and medical bills. We’re willing to max out credit cards to save our fur baby. We love him very much and this all happened on his birthday.

Luce
Luce is a 6 year old Dachshund in Muskegon, , who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy.
Muskegon
Luce, or Goose, has been with me every day since she was born. Her real name is Lucille, meaning Light, and she truly is the light of my life. We’ve been together for 6 years now, and she’s my baby, my girl. She has two little doggy siblings, Ciarán and Stella, and her two kittens Monster and Pumpkin that she raised. Luce was always very active, running and playing whenever she could. Then she started having issues with her back… Her condition started deteriorating quickly, first unable to get on the couch, then use stairs, until she was no longer able to support her weight on her back legs. I had to rush her to Blue Pearl Emergency Vet where they diagnosed her with IVDD. Luce is the most amazingly sweet, loving dog I’ve ever seen. When I’m upset she’ll worm her way in to my lap to comfort me. When her pup siblings want to play, she gets right into it. When there’s baby puppies or kitties around that need tending, she takes care of them like a good nanny. Luce loves to hunt and play and chase things, she’s an incredible dog and loyal to her family. Her back issues are an unexpected financial hardship - I’ve been struggling financially for the last few years because my house has required several large surprise repairs to be livable since I moved in 3 years ago. She’s my baby, I can’t bear to see her suffering.

Sophie
Sophie is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Dewitt, MI, who needs $2,000 for Entropian Surgery.
Dewitt, MI
A couple of years ago, my sons and I were noticing our terrier mix was seeming to be more sad, and she had started vomiting bile. This was concerning, and we believe it was due to the passing of her companion, our labradoodle, of 18 years. We decided we'd be on the lookout for a puppy for our dear Zoe. My best friend Rene' had come upon a litter of puppies, & that's how Sophie's story starts. Sophie appeared healthy to us, as well as to her vets, at her puppy visits. We adopted her, and things were going great! (Rene' and family, now have Sophie's brother too. He's healthy.) Then, on June 26, of '24, we noticed Sophie was acting really funny; she was walking into walls, wouldn't eat or drink, or respond to her name. After a VERY long day, she was diagnosed with a liver shunt. The liver shunt has been about $26k with doctor visits, meds, and prescription food. She's been really doing well with these needs met. She enjoys running in the yard, playing tag with Zoe. She especially loves greeting everyone with kisses. She even makes a whimpering sound because she is so excited to see people! Unfortunately, in Dec. she was diagnosed, and had surgery for entropian (eyelids rolling in), and continues to need 4 different eye meds, and will need another surgery in April. This has depleted my funds, and the surgery & continued medical needs are more than I can afford.

Mollie
Mollie is a 10 month old Labrador Retriever in Battle creek, MI, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy with Histopath.
Battle creek, MI
Mollie came into our house at 8 weeks old. She is one of the sweetest smartest puppies I know. She took my heart at day one. She joined our 6 year old calico Sassy (cat). Our sweet Mollie needs to get a scope done at the internal medicine specialist. She has been throwing up from time to time for a long period of time. We have seen our regular vet and been to the ER vet. We are now seeing an internal medicine specialist for her at BluePearl. Mollie is special because she is so loving and sweet. She loves everyone she meets. She also will show you that she can fit 3 or 4 toys in her mouth at a time and carry them around for you with her tail wagging. I need help with this because all of her prior treatment has exhausted funds. Poor Mollie has been through so much and we can’t wait to see her be healthy and enjoy her life. She is only 10 months old so she has alot of life ahead of her

Lucy lu
Lucy lu is a 12 year old Maine Coon in Rodney, MI, who needs $2,000 for Diaphragmatic Hernia.
Rodney, MI
Lucy lu came to us about 4 years ago with her sister Sally su ( who we lost a year ago because of diabetic complications). They came to us because they were no longer allowed where they were. Lucy is an indoor only cat but we do have a catio on the back of our house, which she loves to go out and watch the birds a squirrels. She is a super sweetheart, loves being brush. We took Lucy to our vet a week and a half ago they did blood work and gave her antibiotics. She still wasn't doing well so we went to a new vet and after a physical exam did an x ray in doing so found she has a tear in her diaphragm and her spline and liver have moved up. They can't do the surgery need so we called Blue pearl pet hospital who can do the surgery. Lucylu loves to be the center of attention. She has had it hard 1st she lost her first human of 8 years then lost her sister. She was in good health before this accident an is expected to come thru surgery, per recent bloodwork all her organs are working as they should. She is very important to us. We are on a fixed income and have already paid $320 @the 1st vet and then $205 @ the second vet. This was a freak accident she fell off our kitchen table (she is not the most graceful) they are saying $5000 -$7000 for a diaphragmatic hernia surgery.

Norman
Norman is a 9 year old Dachshund in Empire, MI, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Resection of the Left Parathyroid Adenoma.
Empire, MI
Norman, Norm, Normie. He is a young almost 10 year old. He currently lives with his pesky brother, Simon who is a teenage Corgi. Norm has been my constant companion and solace for all his life. We live in a rural area in the most beautiful place in America and I know he feels as fortunate as I do. We live in a lower level apartment inside the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Norm sees Dr Peck at Northern Michigan Animal Hospital. Six weeks ago I noticed he was drinking a lot of water. We saw Dr Peck, had bloodwork done and sent off. While we were waiting for those results, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After my surgery, I was referred down to Blue Pearl in Grand Rapids - parathyroid tumor needing surgery for him. Norm has been the “perfect” companion. He has traveled across the country numerous times, on the plane and in the car. He loves the beach and woods and as long as he’s with me, he’s a happy guy. He has unknowingly helped me through some very challenging situations and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him. My grandchildren LOVE him - “Normie” is favored over “Oma” any day! I just turned 70 last November and although I still work, it has slowed down so I am on a fixed income. My cancer diagnosis means many unknown medical bills; add 6K for my best friend’s needs is a devastating and heart wrenching blow. I just don’t know how to do it.

Luna
Luna is a 1 year old Chihuahua in Lansing, MI, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Treatment for Grade 3 Patellar Luxation.
Lansing, MI • The House of Promise
Luna is *Eleanor’s best friend & beloved life-saving companion. Luna is a Psychiatric Service Dog trained to interrupt Eleanor’s dissociative episodes brought on by the trauma she suffered as a victim of human trafficking. Eleanor has been struggling with Dissociative Identity Disorder since childhood & has made more progress with Luna by her side than with any other therapy she has tried. At only 16 months old, Luna cannot run or play. Simple things like jumping up on Eleanor’s lap causes both of her kneecaps to go out. Luna’s condition is a Grade III Patellar Luxation which means both kneecaps ride out of their grooves most of the time & requires surgical intervention. Very few places do this surgery & Blue Pearl in Grand Rapids has offered us a discount as a nonprofit. As a Service Animal, Luna goes everywhere with Eleanor, she helps her with her PTSD & anxiety. Because of the trauma, Eleanor doesn’t do hug or shakes hands, but Luna is always there to accept any and all hugs. When Eleanor is terrified of being in a vehicle, Luna is there as a calming presence which in turned has allowed her to be less dependent on her anxiety medication. Eleanor is currently a resident of The House of Promise’s rehabilitation program for survivors of sex trafficking & is working on her healing to regain her independence to re-enter into society. She is unable to pay for Luna’s urgent surgery. Luna has changed Eleanor’s life!

Marlee
Marlee is a 8 year old Shih Tzu in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for Cataract Surgery.
Grand Rapids, MI
In 2016, I brought Marlee home, and now she’s woven into every part of my home, my family, and my heart. In 2022, Marlee battled a severe virus that led to a gastrointestinal bleed, requiring costly treatments. Though she recovered, the damage left her on a restrictive diet, taking away simple joys like treats. Despite the immense financial burden, it was worth every penny to see her happy again. Just as Marlee’s health improved, something else went wrong. Marlee began losing her vision due to cataracts in both eyes. She now struggles with things she once loved—chasing balls, tossing around toys, and watching animals outside. It’s heartbreaking to see her miss out on more of the things she enjoys, so I’m hoping to restore her vision through a costly surgery at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. Marlee is the family I come home to after a long day of teaching, always ready to bring joy with her wagging tail and loving presence. Her sweet and loyal nature makes her a cherished part of my life, and she spreads that joy to others, including her human "grandparents" and “cousins.” As a teacher with a modest income, the cost of Marlee’s surgery is a heavy burden, especially after her past medical expenses. Any support would mean the world to us, and your kindness would make a world of difference in giving Marlee the care and happy life she deserves.

Minnie
Minnie is a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Jenison, MI, who needs $2,000 for Feeding Tube Placement and Gall Stone Removal.
Jenison, MI
Minnie was just eight months old when my husband, Aaron, and I adopted her from a foster parent. And while we thought of coming up with a new name for her upon adoption, we decided that Minnie was the best name for this ity bitty cat. She has been with us for 5 years and is like a little family member to us. It is just Minnie and us in our apartment in West Michigan. Even though she starts off shy, Minnie is very social. She seems to muster up all her courage to approach new people so that she can get pets and chin scratches. The social cat she is, she has a habit of eating her meals at the same time as us and is very talkative. Unlike any cat I've had before, she loves attention and even licks the people she loves. Minnie is an intense snuggler and constant companion. I've never known a gentler or more affectionate cat-- one who's never bitten or scratched even when she was scared and who is always cuddled up with her people. She loves to play with her toy mice and has a funny tendency to play with her own reflection in mirrors. Not to mention her nightly zoomies! Recently, we noticed Minnie was eating less and seemed interested in eating. Despite our best efforts, we could not get her to eat on her own and eventually she became jaundiced. At the hospital, they confirmed that her liver levels were high and that she may need to have a feeding tube placed. Tomorrow they will check her for a gall stone. If she needs surgery for this, it will cost thousands. My husband and I try to be prepared for emergencies, but this emergency treatment for Minnie is far outside of what we can afford. Minnie's current bill is estimated to be as high as $6,000 but could go up thousands more if she needs surgery to remove a gall stone.

Kafka
Kafka is a 12-year-old Bengal Cat in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for Eye Removal & Lasering.
Grand Rapids, MI
In June 2018, Kafka was rescued from an animal hoarder. This hoarder had dozens of purebred cats and dogs of different breeds -- all kept in cages in cramped conditions in a basement. Kafka was kept in a cage for most of his life, living in his own urine and feces. The Humane Society said he was likely the sire of the hoarder's bengal breeding operation, only being let out to breed. Now that Kafka has a family, all he wants is to hang out with us! Preferably on our laps, where he will go deadweight and cut off the circulation in our legs. He is the king of the castle, no other pets or kids to distract mom and dad from him. He sleeps in between us every night like a person, with half his body under the covers next to our heads! Despite coming from a horrible situation, Kafka has so much love to give! He is so brave and sweet! He doesn't care one bit if you vacuum right next to him, drop pots and pans, he doesn't care about thunder or fireworks! If you try to stand up while he's on your lap, he just leans into you, calling your bluff, and finds a way to keep you pinned! He's a talker with a lot to say, always chirping! Kafka has ocular melanosis, he has dark pigmentation on his left eye, and small amounts in his right. This is potentially cancer. The best thing that we can do for Kafka is to remove his left eye, get it biopsied in a lab to check for cancer, and laser the small amount of pigment on the right eye. He is being seen by Dr. Gwen Sila at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We don't have the funds for his procedure. We earn enough income to disqualify us from non-profit assistance, but we don't have the total cost in our savings. Sara and I want to have as much time with Kafka as we can and give him the care he deserves. Anything helps!

Lilo
Lilo is a 5-month-old Frenchie in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Pinning.
Grand rapids, MI
My daughter and I received Lilo as a gift at the end of August. My daughter has always wanted a puppy, and she was beyond excited when we finally got one. French bulldogs have always been a breed that I love, so the first time seeing Lilo, she just melted my heart. Growing up, my family loved all animals. We consider our dogs family, and we have unconditional love for them. We haven’t had Lilo for vary long, but I don’t want to remember what it was like before her. I do everything with her. She sleeps in my bed, she goes to work with me, we go shopping together, she likes short walks, but we take them frequently. I haven’t left her alone since I got her. She loves playing tug of war, and fetch with my daughter and I. She’s gets along with all dogs. Lilo Ioves playing with our families dogs. My mom has a yorki, my brother has an American bulldog, and she’s played with my friends standard poodle. It’s funny to watch her play with the American bulldog, and poodle because they are so much bigger than her. But she stands her ground. Lilo is the sweetest dog ever, but she’s definitely protective over us. She likes to see where we are at all times. Lilo had a zoomy on 12-11-23, she slid on the hard floor with both paws in front of her, and crashed into the front of the oven. She ended up breaking her arm in the growth plate. They have to place screws, and possibly a plate in her arm. One hospital is in town, but they want $6-7000, the one out of town wants $3900. I have both scheduled, but I haven’t decided where to go yet. I’m a single mom, & I own a small cleaning business. My daughter & I have birthdays this month on top of Christmas, and now planning a surgery for Lilo. We just want her better.

Wasabi
Wasabi is a 10-year-old Domestic Longhair Cat in Traverse City, MI, who needs $2,000 for Partial Mandibulectomy.
Traverse City, MI
Mr. Wasabi was found abandoned as a kitten in a field and I fell in love with him from the moment I seen him. He’s a lazy, loving boy who is curious but cautious. He picks on his sister, Sayuri, and loves to snuggle next to me on the couch and in bed. Wasabi loves sleeping but follows me all over. When I shower, he’s right there. When I cook food, he’s right there. When I sleep, you guessed it, he’s right there. Everyone who has met him as fallen in love with him. He loves to purr and clean faces if allowed. Wasabi is sensitive to human emotions. He’s been a wonderful friend throughout my time managing my PTSD. Although I am much better, mental wise, Wasabi continues to check up and follow me. Wasabi has Osteosarcoma in his jaw (as seen in some photos). The best route is to remove a large portion of his lower jaw. His main veterinary is Clark-Everett Animal Hospital in Traverse City, MI. The oncologist who is seeing Wasabi and diagnosing him is Dr. Swanson at BluePearl Animal Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating college, I had been living on my own and paying for my own expenses. Unfortunately that left me scrapping by and not able to save up much for an emergency fund. I also have to pay for my medications for my mental illness.

Crystal
Crystal is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Comstock Park , MI, who needs $1,200 for Bone Marrow Test, X-ray of Abdomen, Fluids, and Treatment.
Comstock Park, MI
I got crystal off of Facebook. I feel in love so quick with her little face. I had to get her. She is the sweetest thing most loving cat I've ever met I don't know where I'd be without her. I'm on disability and I can't afford $1000 in vet bills so I need your help! She is super cuddly usually but lately hasn't wanted to cuddle because shes not feeling well. Shes a very needy girl, always begging for treats or forcing attention She makes me feel loved and happy just with her cuddly self. She also has a very quirky personality, she hates carriers so I carry her in a blanket to vet appoints and she purrs the whole time and Id I stop touching her she yells and freaks out lol. She's been seen twice now for fevers and diarrhea, she's recently started vomiting. She's had blood work done both mostly ok but not great. Shes been seen at VCA and Kelley's animal clinic but nothing has been found. She is not herself I am on disability and don't get much definitely not $1000 we are already struggling with bills with our fixed income:( it would mean everything to me to have her healthy again she means so much to me I hate seeing her sick it makes me cry:/

Dexter
Dexter is a 4-year-old Pitbull Mix in Allegan, MI, who needs $2,000 for MRI / Cancer / Radiology.
Allegan, MI
This is my sweet baby Dexter, I had saved him from an unkindly home when he was just a pup. He is a Pitbull Mix ( but really just a potato). He is the sweetest boy who genuinely loves his Momma. It's just my Dex and I for the most part. We spent most of our time together as he is one of the biggest highlights of my life. He loves meeting people! He loves getting and receiving all the love possible. He will lick your face clean if given the chance and if you hit the right spot while giving scratches he will continuously like the air. It is the most adorable thing. Dexter's favorite toys are stuffed animals. Any toy you get him he will adamantly destroy until it is into pieces but he always loves getting new ones. He barks at any reflection he see and protects me from any bugs that may be crawling around by stomping on them. We had gone into Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids MI, due do when I came home from work half of his face looked flat and droopy. The treating veterinarian was Dr. Niederhuth in neurology. As written in the documentation I received he has Severe left-sided temporal muscle atrophy and mild enophthalmos. The Vets are pointing towards cancer as he has not regained any muscle growth. The cost I am already at for just the MRI and two check ups is almost $6000. This is not including any other visits or medical needs that need to be done. I am in college and also working as an RBT where the hours are not consistent due to it being it a human health field.

Portage, MI
Lily came into my life from a family friend. I lost my previous boxer several months prior and I missed the bitter batter of feet on the floor. Lily was born and I immediately fell in love with her. She has been in my life since she was eight weeks old. Lily has three sisters. One in dog form and two in cat form. She loves playing with her sisters. Lily is the life of the party in our household. She brings all the joy and fun. She loves playing with her squeaky toys and tug a war. Lily would follow a laser light all day long if I would let her. Lily is so down to earth. She has never and will never hurt a fly. She gives kisses and hugs all the time. Lily fills our life with so much happiness and love. My family was not prepared for Lily to be diagnosed with lymphoma. She is only three years old. She has so much life left to live. We do not have the funds to fully cover her chemotherapy. We are seeking assistance to give my little girl more time on this earth. Lily was diagnosed with Stage IIIb multicentric lymphoma with secondary hypercalcemia. She is only three years old. She has her whole life ahead of her. She has been on steroids for a couple of weeks to assist with bringing Lily's calcium and kidney levels down. Lily started chemotherapy on October 29th. She is being treated at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital Oncologist Dr. Swanson Lily is beyond special. She has her own way of doing everything. She barks like a coyote howling. She specifically howls when she wants to play with her toys. It is pretty funny when she runs because she runs like a deer. Lily gives kisses whenever they are needed. We rescued buddy out of a bad situation, he has been with me since I was six years old. He is my service dog for epilepsy. First Buddy hated me because i was young but now we are inseparable, we go everywhere together like camping, fishing, shopping and more!!! He's everyone's favorite dog he's the big baby of our family. He's there for everyone when they need him such a good dog loves his squeaky toys. He has a collection of squeaky toys that he loves of so dearly and pouts if one is broken or lost. he loves going on car rides to where ever as long as it isn't to hot for him. And he loves to dig holes in the yard and dig dirt with his nose. We lost our jobs due to the pandemic, unemployment isn't wanting to help us anymore. We have been trying our hardest but over bills and gas money doing side jobs just don't have the money We are seeking help for his blood tests last time he was at the vet he was right on the line of being diabetic and we need to get his blood tested again to see where it is and from there take further action. He has had mostly all his teeth removed and his one eye removed due to an ulcer on the eye Buddy does not like thunder storms and can be vocal when he wants, One thing that makes me smile about my dog when he rolls on his toys and makes his grr grr noises. He just has an out going personality and he makes anyone smile when thy see him, old people especially like him make them smile ear to ear.

Mr. Kitty
Mr. Kitty is a 13-year-old DSH Tuxedo in Keego Harbor, MI, who needs $4,000 for Bile Duct Obstruction .
Keego Harbor, MI
Mr. Kitty was abandon in my neighborhood when he was just a kitten. He has been in our lives for 13 years now. Mr. Kitty has 2 brothers Dillon and Ozzie(they are litter-mates) that are 15 years old, they both accepted him into our home right from the start. They play together, cuddle together and even watch bird videos on YouTube everyday. Mr. Kitty has a special wicker chair that he sleeps in when he wants his own space which isn't often. Mr. Kitty sits on the night stand in the early hours of the morning waiting for you to open your eyes so he can get his special morning wet food treat. He shares a can of friskies with his brothers every morning. This is a ritual they we could never break. With the Covid-19 situation we are down to one income household and a sick spouse with other medical expenses. We were not prepared financially for any sort of medical bills for our animals. We are always the ones helping others and never ask for help from anyone. Mr. Kitty got an onset of Jaundice. He is a very healthy cat has never needed to go to the vet for anything all his life, he vet ran blood work and his liver #s were very high hey found out through tests that he has a bile duct obstruction and needs surgery. We took him to Blue Pearl Vet Hospital in Southfield to have his surgery. Mr. Kitty is such a character when it comes to treats/feeding time, he will run up behind you and rub your leg, barrel roll on the floor and let out the cutest meow you have ever heard, and then sit on his feeding pad in the kitchen until you have dished out his favorite wet treat. He watches bird videos with his brothers everyday.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is an 8-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $1,500 for chemotherapy treatment.
Grand Rapids, MI
I have had Cinnamon since she was 8 weeks old. The funny thing is Cinnamon picked me when i went to go pickup a puppy. I asked out loud, "Ok, which one of you will be coming home with me" as if one of the puppies would answer me. I was amazing when Cinnamon pushed her way through her brothers and sister to sit her cute little butt in between my feet. It was like she was saying, "I am coming home with you". We have has a special bond ever since.

Porkchop
Porkchop is a 7-year-old Pit Bull mix in Grand Rapids, MI, who needs $1,000 for bone marrow aspirate.
Grand Rapids, MI
Porkchop was adopted almost 2 years ago. He came from a foster/rescue system and he is the best companion. He is a snuggler and a sleeper, but he will 'talk' to me whenever he feels I am not paying enough attention to him. This usually consists of a warbled type of whine. I will bring him to the office occasionally, and all my coworkers love him, and laugh as I struggle to keep him quiet while I am on the phone with clients.
