Lilly
Lilly is a 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Marysville, WA, who needs $6,974 for Left & Right Regional Chain Mastectomies.
Marysville, WA
Lilly’s Story and Medical Need Lilly came into my life during one of the hardest times of my life, when I was struggling with my health, mental health, and an uncertain future. After being through five homes and facing surrender to a shelter, she found a home with me and grew from a frail 4-pound dog into a healthy 9-pound companion. Lilly gave me hope when I needed it most, and now I am doing everything I can to help her in return. About two years ago, Lilly was diagnosed with small masses that were thought to be harmless fatty deposits. Last year, they began growing, and testing could not determine whether they are cancerous. She has been referred to the Bridge Animal Referral Center (BARC) in Edmonds, WA, for a double mastectomy and further biopsies, with an estimated surgery cost of $6,974.87. I work as a paraeducator and am currently on L&I while awaiting ACL surgery, which will leave me with limited income during recovery. Despite applying for additional jobs, I have not found work. My girlfriend, a teacher, also has limited income and works part-time. We are selling belongings and doing all we can, but we can’t raise the full amount fast enough alone. Donations will help cover Lilly’s surgery and medication so we can schedule care and give her the life she deserves. Lilly is insured, but the surgery must be paid for before it can be scheduled. Lilly is family and a beloved companion who has brought hope during difficult times, and I am doing all I can to help her.

I was asked if I could take her in by a friend who had to either find her a new home or put her down. I took her in no questions asked. She quickly became my whole world. I have only had her for about a year but the bond we have is unquestionable. Since I got her she has gone everywhere with me since it is just me and her. She is very friendly with people and other animals and likes to play with the neighbors dog and will sit in their driveway when she sees him. Kara is a verey quite dog, is very informative of her needs and wants. She likes are walks and car rides. If any of her bowls are empty she will paw them or bring them to me even my friend's dogs bowl. Kara was diagnosed with lymphoma, secondary anterior uveitis in both eyes and glaucoma in her left eye. I am trying to get her treated at barc in edmonds I am on disability and limited income. Max
Max is a 9-year-old Rottweiler in Spokane, WA, who needs $2,000 for Double Lung Lobectomy (surgery), and Follow-Up Chemotherapy.
Spokane, WA
My mom adopted Max for me as a gift when I was 17. I had been living in England, where I had been placed into foster care due to a domestic violence situation with my father. Max helped me overcome my diagnosis of PTSD. Throughout the years, he has stayed with me and is my best friend in the entire world. I was recently diagnosed with a serious, lifelong autoimmune illness and he helps me so much. Max has his very own spot on the bed next to me, with his own pillow and everything. His favorite place to be though is in my truck with me, where his dog bed is set up in the back seat. He always has to pick a toy to take with him each time we go. I take him to the coffee shop, where they know him by name and give him a puppa-ccino (whipped cream in a cup). We now live on a farm, which he loves. Max's best friend is his sister, Lilly. He's such a bright, goofy boy who absolutely loves his stuffie toys. He picks one out to bring to bed with him each night. He has a "dinner dance" that he does for each meal, and he loves opening any kind of wrapped package. When we're in public, he walks right next to my wheelchair and is very helpful. He is the kindest soul I know and is my biggest comfort We recently found a large mass in Max's right lung on Xray. We got a CT scan which confirmed two small additional mets in the same lung. We had a surgical/oncological consult at BARC vet in Edmonds, WA. He will need a double lung lobectomy, where they remove both affected lobes of his lung. His surgery is scheduled for July 11th. He has no chance of survival without it. And he will need chemo. I was recently diagnosed with two serious autoimmune conditions. I have been fighting these illnesses for eight years, and am swamped in medical bills. My husband and I separated last summer, and I just lost my kitty last August to cancer. Max's surgery starts at $5,600.
