Bucky came into our lives when his previous family could no longer keep him. Our groomer helped bring him to us, and we knew he was meant to be ours. In just 1½ years, this sweet 10-year-old Shih Tzu has become our little shadow, our joy, and the king of our home. We can't imagine our lives without him. ❤️🐾 Bucky has three large, rapidly growing tumors around his tushie and beneath his tail. Two are pressing against his rectum, making it difficult for him to have bowel movements. He urgently needs surgery to remove them and determine whether they are cancerous. We are doing everything we can to get our precious boy the care he needs. ❤️🐾 Bucky is so much more than a pet—he is family, my constant companion, and a little piece of my heart. He has brought us so much love and happiness in the short time he’s been ours. I desperately want him to have the chance to heal, because the thought of losing him is heartbreaking. His recovery means everything to me. ❤️🐾 We’re turning to our community because Bucky’s surgery and care are more than we can afford on our own. I’m on disability, and we’ve exhausted our resources trying to help him. We’re asking for any support to give our sweet boy the chance to heal. ❤️🐾

A year and a half ago, Bucky came into our lives at age 9, after his previous owner’s new wife didn't want him. We had recently lost our beloved Shih Tzu, so our hearts were still broken. Bucky quickly became family, following me everywhere and filling our home with love, laughter, and comfort. We needed him as much as he needed us. Bucky has been diagnosed with three large tumors, two of which are pressing against his rectum and making it increasingly difficult for him to poop. Because of the location, his regular vet referred him to a specialist at Community Veterinary Hospital in Dublin, Virginia. There are many tiny nerves in this area, so Bucky needs a surgeon with the specialized skills to remove the tumors. Bucky is more than a pet—he is our family, our comfort, and a source of unconditional love. After being unwanted by someone else, he found his forever home with us. His recovery means everything because we cannot imagine life without him. Every day with Bucky is a blessing, and we’re fighting to give him the healthy, happy, loving life he deserves. I’m on disability so money is very tight. We started a GoFundMe and have been blessed with generously donations. But we still have a long way to go! He needs this surgery ASAP so he can heal before my back surgery on 10/08, as I won't be able to care for him until I heal.

So marmalade came into my life simply by chance a family member had kitten ready for a home and I saw the pictures and I knew he was mine, I had never seen or had any reaction with him. From day one he was attracted to my hip. He loves cuddles and to be held like a baby, nose kisses and loves to be under my covers at night. Hes my support animal. And is loved dearly. Marmalade got board one night and ate yarn out of my box and has a blockage and needs to be removed but at the moment I don’t have the funds. Dublin community animal hospital is where I take him. He my ride or die pet. Next to me 24/7. Car rides to walks to cuddles he’s there with me. He supports me and I support him. He was ment to be here with me on this path of life. We are barely making it right now it’s a family of 3 me my son and dad. I just started working to help pay bills. To help get though this hard time. Marmar ( marmalade) has helped me in my hard times and I’m trying to return the favor.

My first pet had passed away in January and I couldn't go but 2 days without the pitter patter of little paws in my house. I searched all over the internet and emailed a ton of shelters for a Chihuahua mix. One emailed me back and said she had a sweet little girl for me to meet. I decided to call her Lola and she came home with me that very day. Lola is an "only child" as she does not typically get along with other animals, according to the shelter. She has learned to trust and adores my boyfriend and sleeps with us in the bed every single night. She gets tight under the covers and doesn't move at all. She is spoiled rotten with toys and treats. I lost my job due to COVID back in June. I have been having a hard time trying to catch up with bills since. Lola is so sweet and it's incredibly hard to watch her limp but still maintain being grateful that I rescued her. I want to heal her physically and emotionally. Lola has been non weight bearing on her left leg since I got her. It is rumored that she was tugged on both legs and they popped out of socket. The vet, Dr. J Nightingale of Dublin Community Animal Hospital, said she is unable to pop them in place. She is a 4/4 bad on the left and a 3/4 bad on the right. She will need TTT surgery on both legs very soon. She is on pain medication for now. Lola was a very abused doggie prior to me. She did not trust me at all but now will never, ever leave my side. In fact, every time I sit down, she immediately licks me all over and is super dramatic when I am on my cell. She will throw her head back on my chest and just stare at me. It makes me giggle and I cant resist.
