Junior

Junior is a 3 Year Old Mix-Breed in Kansas City, KS, Who Needs $2,000 for Surgery to Treat Fractured Jaw.

Kansas City, KS

Junior was a rescue that picked us to be his forever home! He was so skinny when we got him. He then began to fill out, gain weight and began showing us his true colors. He is so loved and greets us at the door, loves belly rubs and loves making biscuits!!! Junior got outside and when he returned home it was obvious something had happened. Junior was unable to close his mouth and eat his regular food. We then took him to an emergency vet that reported Junior has a fractured jaw and is requiring surgery! Junior is a biscuit making machine! He loves his treats and greets us at the door routinely. He loves his toys and bags. No paper bag is safe from Junior! I am currently undergoing hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy for soft tissue necrosis due to radation side effects and now currently on long term disability

Oli

Oli is a 2-year-old Tabby Cat in Kansas City, MO, who needs $2,000 for Full Dental Extraction.

Kansas City, MO

We rescued Oli when he was 8 months old, right after my childhood dog passed away. We felt like we needed a new start, so we went to the nearest animal shelter and found this little orange furball- he had been returned twice in his short life span! Our gain, their loss! Now Oli, my partner and I spend our evenings watching birds and relaxing on the couch. Oli has never been much of a cuddler but he does love to give a good headbutt to my partner and I. he usually spends his days lounging near the window, chirping at birds or sprawled in the sun on the floor. he loves to greet us at the door, and immediately starts meowing, purring and rolling up a storm! he has his own squishmallow collection that he likes to smack around. Oli is a very cool cat. he's quite vocal, he loves to meow at the top of his little kitty lungs and let us know how he's feeling. he is also an upcoming cat soccer player, as his favorite toys are all balls! hes also a known yogurt fiend- no cup of yogurt is safe around here! We recently discovered our Oli has extreme stomatitis, to the point of tooth loss and decay. We were referred to Companion Animal Dentistry, where they have decided the best course of treatment would be a full dental extraction. without this, he will be in considerable pain and discomfort for the remainder of his life. The expected costs for this surgery is almost quadruple our monthly income. I am partially disabled so I can only maintain one job at a time, and my partner has two right now, but even with these positions we are still flabbergasted on how we can save up for this.

Photo of Barley

Barley

Barley is a 10-year-old Collie/German Shepherd Mix in Liberty , MO, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Excision of Papillary Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Liberty, MO

Barley was found wandering at an apartment complex 2 years ago by one of our older daughters, Mikayla. The previous owners, who we tried to contact, had moved out and abandoned him. Soon after meeting Barely, my wife Julia and I decided to take him in and provide him a loving home. Since then, Barely has become a cherish member of our family and a loving companion for our young daughters. Barley is energetic and playful and loves bounding through our yard after laughing children. He is loyal and protective of our daughters Stazi, 4, and Alekza, 5, and loves playing with them. Though twice her size, he relishes a good game of tug-o-war with Stazi. When Alekza crowns him a princess he plays along without objection. He is a gentle giant who loves to cuddle. Barely and Chloe, our Schnauzer, became instant buddies when they first met and do everything together. He adores car rides and dances with excitement when he sees his leash for a walk. Every night around 10, Barley barks at me telling me it's bedtime. When he wants a treat or a belly rub he will nuzzle you and pat your hands with his paws. Brooms drive him bonkers. In late September we noticed a bump on Barley's nose and a mass growing inside his mouth. We took him to our veterinarian who diagnosed him with a papillary squamous cell carcinoma. With surgical removal of the tumor, his surgeon believes Barley will make a full recovery and live a normal life with little chance of recurrence or metastasis. Finances are tight with little discretionary money available. Our small emergency fund has been exhausted on recent vet visits for Barley's biopsy and diagnosis. Knowing that Barley's cancer is highly treatable but beyond our means is like watching a loved one drown.
