Roxy
Roxy is a 14-year-old Pitbull in Shandon, CA, who needs $2,000 for Disc replacement.
Shandon, CA
In the wake of a recent misfortune that left me homeless and bereft of belongings, I found refuge in the home of a long-time friend and roommate, Mike. Amidst our shared struggle with tight budgets and the soaring cost of living, Mike's companion, Roxy, a spirited 16-year-old pit bull, emerged as a beacon of joy and resilience. Despite her age and physical challenges, Roxy's lively demeanor and un Meet Roxy, a spunky 16-year-old pit bull with a heartwarming story. Despite a tough start in life, she found a loving home with Mike, who saw beyond her age and gave her the care she deserved. Recently, Roxy has been facing mobility issues, and a vet visit revealed she may need some medical care. Roxy is so much fun and because when the first meeting of other dogs can be challenging and times. Hoping everyone can get along. Roxy had no problem flirt with my 4 year old black lab name Solomon doors. She will let him know she might be the older woman but she still loves to get close to him. And when you see that encounter she has with Solomon flirting always make me smile I will have to edit this information as Roxy was just recently seen by a vet in Atascadero CA. Where they told Mike she need a better diet and a foxtail in her ear that needs to be removed. And she tries so hard rolling around and rubbing on you, we think trying to get it out herself. So it needs to be removed immediately. The cost alone is overwhelming when you know you are just making it Mike was just told by the vet Roxy has a hurt dish. This will add to other treatments, they told him she already needed. And being on a fixed budget. These new unexpected expenses that might not be possible for Mike to afford. But Roxy's well-being is his first priority

Sissy (Soul)
Sissy (Soul) is a 7-month-old mixed breed in Paso Robles, CA, who needs $1,500 for a femoral head ostectomy on both hips.
Paso Robles, CA
Sissy was only 3 months old when she was found wrapped in landscape netting out in the remote hills of California Valley. Her rescuer heard her crying and was able to carefully cut her out of the netting and get her into a local vet. Scared to death, starving and full of every parasite possible, she was given fluids, medication and sent home to recover with her rescuer. Everything was new to this little one and the world was very frightening. It didn’t take long for her rescuer to realize that there was something wrong with her back legs. Two months went by and she started to gain weight but not trust. A complete medical work up showed a condition called “Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head and Neck” was diagnosed on both back legs. Along with the malnutrition and muscle atrophy, she would never be able to walk right. It was then that her rescuer realized that she was not the right fit for Sissy due to her long work hours. She reached out to a local rescue who reached out to me and there was just no way I could turn this poor scared little girl away. If she would have ended up in a shelter the odds were stacked against her ever having a chance. When she came to me on 5/14/19 she was a complete mental and emotional mess. She would not leave her crate and was terrified of everyone and everything around her. She has made great strides in trusting and I can see improvement in her almost daily. She almost never goes in her crate anymore and has decided that sleeping in my bed at night is the place to be. She has bonded with my other dogs and to them she is now just part of the pack. She still has a lot of trust issues going on but she is trying. I know the fact that she is in constant pain due to her hip issues plays a big part in her emotional state. Luckily, the Femoral Head Osteotomy surgery procedure can correct this problem and bring her back to 95%. I can't wait to see her blossom into the sweet girl I know she can be once she is pain free.
