Salem

Salem is a 10 year old Chantilly/Tiffany in Gaithersburg, MD, who needs $5,000 for Diabetes Testing.

Gaithersburg, MD

I adopted Salem as a kitten from neighbors. They couldn’t keep her so I took her. She came into my life in 2016. I named her Salem because she reminded me of the cat Salem in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She lives with me, my husband and in laws with their 2 cats. Salem hasn’t been eating and lost a massive amount of weight. She’s been to Goshen Animal Clinic once and I would like to take her back. The bills were very high when we first went but I just wish for her to be ok. Salem is very special to me because she’s the first pet of my own. She’s like my baby. She loves giving me massages and receiving them herself. She absolutely adores her little white mouse toy, I had to buy her tons of them because they rip easily. She’s very reserved but loves everyone. She gets super vocal when I open treat. I am not working due to my chronic illness. I am currently waiting to see if I will be approved for disability assistance. It would absolutely mean the world to me and Salem if I could get any help. She’s the love of my life. My baby. I love her so much.

Kaze

Kaze is a 6 year old Poodle in Montgomery Village, , who needs $2,000 for Leg Injury Due to Being Hit by a Car.

Montgomery Village

I met Kaze in 2019 when he was just six months old — a big, fluffy bear of a standard poodle from a breeder in Virginia. I’ll never forget seeing him for the first time — standing on the steps, all fur and love, the biggest pup in his litter and already larger than life. I got him with the dream of training him as my service dog — and for two years, I did it all myself. Last week, everything changed. Kaze ran into a car late at night while I was letting him out. He didn’t get hit head-on, but the tire caught his paw and likely hurt his back leg. He’s limping badly and in pain, but I can’t afford the $350 just to get him seen for x-rays. Full treatment could reach $1,400–$2,000 — something I simply can’t manage right now on a fixed income with four kids and bills Through bus drivers passing us by, Uber denials, and freezing nights waiting with my kids, Kaze never once left my side. He learned how to calm me through PTSD, help with mobility, and even comfort strangers who needed him. He’s my retired service dog now — but still my best friend, my family’s protector, and my heart on four legs. I can’t lose him. He’s been there for me through everything, and I owe it to him to get him out of pain and back to being his silly, loving self — “Mr. Steal Your Girl,” as we call him, because he melts every heart he meets.

Checkers

Checkers is a 11-year-old Chihuahua in Montgomery Village, MD, who needs $2,000 for Hernia Repair.

Montgomery village, MD

We inherited Checkers at the beginning of 2023 from a family member who was getting to old to take care of him. Since the beginning he has had a cough so we took him to the vet and he has congenital heart failure so he is now on medication and doing great. That is up until last week he had a hernia and it now has to be surgically repaired or he will die from it. Checkers is one of a kind. He is laid back and loves being your shadow. He also just likes to be picked up and next to you on the couch. He loves being groomed and has the zoomies when I get home. He loves to go in the car and encourages us to be more active too. He simply makes bad days turn good Checkers has his own personality. He loves to zoom around and chase you. When we pet him he starts to nuzzle his head into a pillow or your leg or whatever he can rub up and push against lol. He also loves to be picked up and just petted sitting next to us. He also takes kibble and runs around with it showing it off haha He is 11 and has been neutered. He was rescued from the Humanes society in 2013. He has since been treated for congenital Heart failure so he takes medications daily but it doesn’t seem to bother him. Dr Chen from Goshen animal clinic will be doing the surgery. He also needs a EkG and ECHO to make sure his heart is strong enough for the surgery. That is about $1000 itself. I am currently employed full time and bring in the only income. My fiancée has had health issues she is getting over and is now looking for work but we are short money in the mean time and checkers does not have time.

Blue

Blue is a 1-year-old Russian Blue Cat in Silver spring , MD, who needs $2,000 for G-ehmer Sling.

Silver spring, MD

I first met blue while i was doordashing to save money for my school last year, i was gifted by the owner of that house since they cant afford to take her with them,we have been together for almost a year now, i named her blue cuz of how she is extremely loyal and loving(blue stands for loyalty) and she also have it in her breed name (russian blue) Blue is very loved by every person iv introduced her my friends love her so much as they also say she isnt a cat shes human, she greets neighbors in the morning. Very friendly she loves to go on walks in parks n neighborhoods where she chases birds and squirrels. Our fav game is hide and seek(jump scares), she loves to sprint and jump crazy and do flips chasing her fav toy What amazes me is she is friendly to anyone she comes across she is bold and fearless as she will introduce herself with no effort from my end, she wakes up in the morning and greets me whenever she hears me making a sound when i wake up, as ill always find her on my bed waiting for me to get up (protecting me),what makes me laugh is her sneaky pounces when im not looking and her play fights I have now found out that she has a dislocated joint (while she was playing outside) i learnt that she jumped from a high stonewall and landed incorrectly, hospital said she needs to get surgery as i cannot afford it and she is in pain and im looking for ways to get her treated, current vet is located ay goshen animal clinic at airpark road gaithursburg, they said she needs immediate treatment It means everything to me everything! She is the only family i have i have no one but her, right now i cant afford her sudden expense its 2,500 dollars for the surgery as i am still a student paying for school n all the bills i couldnt have an extra money to cover it
