Cleo
Cleo is a 11-year-old Grey Domestic Shorthair in Warwick, RI, who needs $2,000 for Dental Cleaning and Extractions , punch biopsy.

In 2012 my Mother, who volunteers at a animal shelter, needed an emergency foster placement for a very pregnant cat. My partner David agreed to take her in until they found another foster as long as I helped. He named her Cleopatra (Cleo). I was lucky enough to see Cleo birth her 4 kittens 2 days later. She was a great Mom and Dave and I decided to keep her because we had simply fallen in love. Cleo's nickname is Lil' Squeaky because her meow is a tiny squeak. She loves to watch the birds and squirrels outside and to attack the broom when she sees it under the door. Cleo will sit, give you her paw and gently take a treat from our fingers. She likes to tunnel into our jackets and make herself a comfy nest. When we watch tv or movies Cleo settles herself right between Dave and I. Experiencing Cleo give birth and raise her kittens created a strong bond between David, Cleo and I, she quickly became our furrbaby. In 2015 David saved Cleo when his apartment building burned down. She was the only cat saved. Cleo is so special to us, she makes us laugh with her zoomies and when she rolls around to show us her belly. Brushing her velvety fur and feeling her soft purr is calming. Cleo sees Dr. Seth Snow at Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center. Dr. Snow brought to our attention that a number of Cleo's teeth need to be removed due to FORL, a painful dental condition. Dr.Snow also felt a lump along Cleo's mammary glands and is concerned. He will take a biopsy to check for cancer while he does her teeth. The estimate has gone from $1,200 to now $2,600-$2,900. Dave is retired and on a fixed income. I am struggling with the sudden onset of physical and mental health conditions that leave me unemployable. We know we will have to find a way to pay the balance up to almost $3000. However, the thought of Cleo in pain is unacceptable.
Skye
Skye is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier in Warwick, RI, who needs $1,041 for Heartworm Treatment.

Skye came into our rescue last year when she was found tied to the shelter door in Arkansas. She was vetted and taken in by Hannah who loved that pup dearly! Hannah ended up "foster failing" on Skye right away! Skye is calm, sweet and hilarious all at the same time, we can't imagine anyone would could give this adorable little house hippo up! Skye is a complete character and charms everyone she meets! She spends her days lounging around her mom's work and hanging with the staff at any event she goes to. Some of her best friends include any and all dogs she meets, tiny domesticated bunnies (whom she hikes with!). Skye does have a fear though...bugs! Anytime she comes across one of those insects, she books it the other way! Skye is special because of just how amazing her personality is. She has the ability to make any and everyone feel welcome and loved. One of my favorite moments was seeing her gently rocking herself in her mom's hammock while they were out camping. She had this glimmer in her eye that you just knew she was cracking herself up! Skye was fully vetted and heartworm tested before she left Arkansas and kept on heartworm preventative by her new adopted owner, but unfortunately at her last vet visit it was discovered that she was heartworm positive. Skye has pet insurance but unfortunately it does not cover heartworm treatment, even with perfect prevention use. She is currently being seen at Hill & Harbor Vet Clinic in EG, RI Rhode Home Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to covering all medical costs of adopted dogs through us, but we can only do so with donations! Skye and her mom have been wonderful volunteers with us and we would love to cover this unexpected bill for her.
