I never thought I would be writing something like this. Our sweet Raisin — who started out as the tiniest little “raisin” of a kitten — is fighting for her life. We took her to the vet for what we thought was just a sore on her leg. Instead, we were told the words no pet parent ever wants to hear: cancer. The cancer has spread into her knee and muscle mass, and the only way to save her is to amputate her leg. As devastating as that sounds, the vet truly believes that if we amputate, they can get clean margins and remove the cancer completely. She has been there for our family through so many highs and lows. She’s more than a pet. She’s comfort, she’s love, she’s family. She is our best friend. As a single mom, I am doing everything I can. I was approved for Care Credit, but it doesn’t cover the full amount. I don’t like asking for help — this is incredibly hard for me to post — but Raisin deserves a chance to live.

Willow is our 9-week-old silver Labrador retriever! Willow is full of energy and a total joy to have around. She has a playful spirit, often seen chomping on leaves or romping around with our two cats and our German shepherd. We live on 40 acres in the great smoky mountains, and hope to train her to be a search and rescue dog. Willow recently fell out of a window of a truck, and broke her femur. She will need surgery to get back on her feet again. We took her to MedVet in Asheville NC for her initial exam and X-rays, and they have quoted us 4,000-5,000 for the surgery. We often refer to her as our "little otter" since she likes to walk around dragging her back legs behind her. Oh, and not to forget that her coloring and tail looks just like an otter! She just adores our German shepherd and two cats, and hopefully we can trust her around our chickens pretty soon. We just got married this past September (2024) and that was already more expensive than we had hoped, even though it was a small get together with just our families. We are trying to get a new house built, and weren't expecting to have to add a $6,000 expense to our future.

We got Meeko at 8 weeks old to protect our goats and chickens. She has been the best guardian for our animal children and our human children. She is the sweetest girl and she loves everyone she meets. Meeko loves her goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and humans. She loves to snuggle and has no idea nor does she care that she weighs well over 100 lbs. We named her Meeko because her face markings reminded us of the racoon on Pocahontas. Meeko is not much of a talker, but when she gets excited, she does a little dance like "stuart" from Mad TV. "Look what I can do!" She has the biggest heart and loves all animals and people Meeko became pregnant for the first time at 18 months old. She surprised us last night with a puppy under the porch. We brought her inside to be more comfortable, but no other puppies came, despite her still being in labor. She has rejected the one puppy that she has and is very lethargic. There may be a puppy stuck in the birth canal. This could jeopardize the puppies and her life as well. Like many in this economy, we are not well off. Our children and our animals are everything to us. Having the amount in savings for emergencies of this nature is not always a possibility. Anything that you can do to help us save our sweet girl will be greatly appreciated.

Our neighbors had puppies and he would bring them over so our kids can see them wasn't planning on getting another dog but our other dog Sadie decided to pick her puppy! And my kids also. There was something about this one puppy (out of 7 puppies) everyone liked. He was the smallest and the only male. He wasn't as hyper as the other puppies he was more cuddly and shy. Sooo I did it I got him! We had no idea what to name him our family just shouted out names and Carlos just made everyone smile so he became Carlos! He became very close to my kids wigging not only his tail but his whole body everytime he saw them. He was a bit clumsy for awhile still is a little bit running into walls running into screen doors and just plopping his body down pretty much anywhere. I was filling dog bowls outside one day Carlos was very unsure about the hose. He would walk up look do a little bark walk away do his thing come back bark tilt the head both ways until finally he went for it not only does he try and drink it he puts his whole body in it and then gets the zoomies!!!!!!! It was a Thursday night when Carlos went missing and Sunday night when he came back home all broken. We took him to the animal hospital the next morning and sure enough after x-rays our poor boy has a broken femur! The vet said he needed surgery! And I will coast from 3 to $4000 Right now his bill for surgery is $3911.19. I am the only one working at the moment. I have 3 kids all under 12. After I pay bills and dog food cat food and things my kids need I hardly have money for gas to get to and from work. He needs surgery ASAP!!!

My husband & I decided we wanted to get a puppy for our 5 yr oldson Ashtonhis anticipation was thru the roof we bring her home only to find she's not holding down & food or water so i made some chicken broth she starts going into shock can't breath neighbor had 2 give mouth to mouth got her breathing got 2 vet found her heart didn't close so surgery to move her stomach from heart pericardium We only had her 24 hours & she had to be taken into surgery. However I'd give up everything I have for this sweet beautiful baby. She has stolen my heart to replace her hurt broken heart! If you ever get to meet her you'll know why everyone wants to keep her she comes into contact with. She knew right off who she was bought for she stayed right up under my son's feet & never left his side until sh We lost our business this year due to our commissary being shut down by the state we have not been able to recover however my husband was able to go back to his job @ Conmet. I homeschool our 5year old I've been trying to find part time workathomejob BLUEY's surgery is to remove her stomach from the pericardium of her heart. The Vet (Dr. Sage) @ Lake Junaluska Animal Hospital said if she makes it thru surgery (which she did as of Friday February 19,2021) &makes a full recovery she will be a normal healthy dog & live a normal life. I homeschool our 5 year old my husband works full time I will be caring for her health & wellbeing the restoflife She has the greatest spirt & will to live she has been fighting to live for 8 weeks. She is a remarkable puppy with a huge purpose in this world & I thank God for putting her in our lives. We have started a prayer chain for her to make it through surgery and recovery. We feel that she is going to make the perfect addition to our little family as soon as she makes a full recovery and spoiled rotten
