Tails

Tails is a 2 year old Siamese in Thornton, CO, who needs $2,000 for Fracture Repair.

Thornton, CO

This beautiful blue eyedblady found us one evening in late October 2025. She was cold, hungry and very friendly. We could not leave her outside. We posted on all the sites, called animal control, posted flayers etc. After a week she was showing! 2 months later she blessed our home with 5 kittens and what a good mama. Everything happens for a reason. She is family now. 2 months after giving birth she was finally playing and jumping again. She jumped high to catch a toy and hit an air purifier with her right front leg and was limping for the past week, now our vet said it is fractured. We have only had this cat since October of last year. We fell in love with her affectionate nature right away. She had been through some stress already and then she gave birth to 5 kittens. She fed a raised them and now they are blessing the lives of 2 new families. Getting used our cat Kitty and going through heat, she was about to get well deserved break, no pun intended After caring for her and kittens for the last 6 months has been difficult as its been very expensive and they weren't adopted until days ago. I am single mom with 2 jobs. I just scrapped up enough money for her to be fixed and now her leg is fractured.

Taz

Taz is a 13 year old Pomeranian in Fort Collins, CO, who needs $3,500 for Parathyroid Tumor Removal.

Fort Collins, CO

We adopted Taz as a senior from a shelter in FL. It was love at first sight! He came right over and sat with us and we just knew - he's part of our pack. He was originally found as a stray and adopted. Then, according to his records he was surrendered as a senior and underwent a major dental procedure - 9 teeth! - a raging UTI and bladder stones right before we met. Taz has been in the hospital the last week because he has high calcium which is causing pancreatitis. We found out today that he has a parathyroid tumor that is causing the high calcium and needs removed. Taz is our support dog and has brought such calm, joy and love into our home. He goes with us everywhere and people just find him hard to resist. He brings a smile and a ray of hope on even the worst of days. When we feel down he comes and jumps and does a cute little dance that lifts your spirits and he is always up for a snuggle or sing "I love you" with you. Our family lost its income twice last year due to all the economic chaos and we decided to move to Colorado for a job. In order to get here, we sold almost all of our belongings - toys, bikes, furniture etc. Right before we left, our other dog of 13 years passed.

Anna

Anna is a 9 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Aurora, CO, who needs $1,536 for Mass Removal + Histopathology.

Aurora, CO

When we went to the shelter to look for a dog, it was originally for my boyfriend. I didn’t want a dog at the time however, as soon as we got Anna in a room, she made a beeline straight to my face to cover me in licks, and I said that I was not leaving without this dog. It was at first sight for all of us. Almost 8 years later we rescued her brother Beef from the same shelter. Anna has had TPLO surgery done on both of her hind legs because she had a torn ACL in both knees and awhile after that, I found an odd bump which turned out to be a mast cell tumor. Liberty Animal Hospital told us they will need to remove and biopsy the tumor to know what stage she is at. We need to get the tumor out ASAP to prevent it from spreading to other organs if it hasn’t already. Despite being a pit bull and having the stigma that comes along with that, Anna has been the brightest light in everyone’s life, she loves everyone unconditionally and you end up loving her just as much when you meet her. Anna‘s favorite thing is licking people and cuddling with her humans. She has also been on the news to encourage voters to end breed restriction in Aurora Colorado. Anna has had a lot of medical expenses and we said we wouldn’t get another dog until after we got her looked at which we did and then I found the mast cell tumor. Every time I bring Anna into the vet she gets diagnosed with something new and we are tapped out at this point.

Buster

Buster is a 5 year old Rottweiler in Denver, , who needs $2,000 for TPLO/ Mass Removal.

Denver

I’ve had Buster since a puppy, him and I came a long way from an abusive relationship. He had been my best friend since I got him and is my ESA. We currently live in Denver together in our own home with his sister Dolly and kitty siblings. Buster was running at the dog park and tripped into a hole tearing his acl and meniscus and has been having issues walking and can no longer use stairs and cannot run which he loves to run. While getting his examination they also found a lump on his right back leg that needs to be removed as well. Buster is the sweetest rotti you will ever meet and loves his sister Dolly who is a Doberman, he loves to swim, paddleboard, hike and find sticks and loves digging and finding cool rocks. I don’t make a ton at my job and bills are very high while car issues currently are costing in the thousands. Seeing Buster run and be able to enjoy the things would make me happy, he’s been suffering from depression not being able to use all four legs and has gained weight

Tank

Tank is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Arvada, CO, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral TPLO.

Arvada, CO

We adopted Tank from the animal shelter in August of 2023. The shelter gave him such an appropriate name, we didn't feel a need to change it. Tank is a little more than 80 pounds of pure muscle and love. Recently, Tank was playing with the ball outside. He was playing a little to hard and tore his Right CCL. About a week later the same happened with his Left CCL. Luckily he had already been scheduled with Liberty Animal Hospital for a unilateral surgery. They took more X-rays and confirmed a second CCL tear. They were able to schedule him for a bilateral TPLO surgery. Tank has some of the best qualities for a dog of his stature. Most of his time is spent snuggling as close to dad as he can, acting like a lap dog. In the car he will sniff in the drivers ear to ask for the window down, he can start to get sassy if he’s not smelling the world go by. Tanks surgical cost was not a factor in whether we were going to get the help he needed. We found the vet with the lowest cost for this procedure in the area and was able to temporarily cover with a Care Credit card. We hope to subsidize some cost before getting him a loan.

Stella

Stella is a 2-year-old Pit Bull/Boxer in Aurora, CO, who needs $2,000 for Carpal Arthrodesis.

Aurora, CO

I got Stella when she was 7 weeks old! She has never had any medical conditions and overall always been in good health and spirits! She was spayed at 6 months. She is now 2 years old! Stella has the biggest personality! She absolutely LOVES and adores kids! Her favorite thing to do is hang out in the kitchen with my mom while she cooks of course! She is the best to cuddle with! I could go on forever about why and how Stella makes me smile, she is the goofiest dog ever. She’s super smart, but sometimes has a hard time listening when we tell her not to chase squirrels (LOL even with her casts on!!) She is the strongest dog ever, Stella has been through a lot as a two year old pup, but continues to bring you toys and bark at herself in the mirror! At first we were seen by an emergency vet when the incident first happened. Unfortunately due to pricing I had to search elsewhere for cost friendly vets. I found another practice, and they have taken good care of us this far! It would mean the world for me to see my baby back and moving the way she used to. It’s heartbreaking seeing her hurting everyday.. I want to see her happy and healthy again. I will do any and everything to make sure my baby gets the care she needs.

Dude

Dude is a 15-year-old Husky/Pit/Rottweiler in Aurora, CO, who needs $2,000 for TPLO & MPLO Surgery Both Legs.

Aurora, CO

I got my Dude because a friend of mine's dog got pregnant before she was scheduled to get fixed. So I was going to get my husband and daughter a dog. I picked out my husband's dog and then later my daughter's dogs. So that way the dog was not lonely when we had to go to work or school or anything. Turned out My husband is my dog and the dog my daughter wanted is my husband's dog now. They Chose. Dude lives in a house with a back yard and front yard. He has two kids that adore him, his littermate/Sister Mal, and his mommy loves him the most. Dude loves cuddles, walks, and playing fetch and he loves all people and animals but he doesn't realize he's a large dog so people are a bit thrown off by him. He's hyper and happy all the time. He hasn't shown me a mean bone in his body. My dog has been the best boy throughout this whole situation of not being able to walk he has not once gotten short with me. He is smart and he takes my tears away when I am sad. I am hoping to get him registered as my therapy dog when he is 2 years old and I am able to get him more training that is licensed. He's my support system that's not human. Dude has been a patient of Thrive Affordable Vet since he was 8 weeks old. He has gotten all checkups there and shots. I had the Thrive vet plan for a while and then when to the vital care plan for checkups and shots. He is currently seeing Liberty Animal Hospital to do his orthopedic surgery, I found that could do his surgery at a decent price. I am currently going through a divorce from my husband that was a drug addict and alcoholic who refused treatment. My last straw was when he assaulted me when the kids were in bed. I am a full-time college student with two children and a 20 hr a week work-study position.
