Mittens
Mittens is a 11 month old Mix-Breed in Smithfield , PA, who needs $850 for Emergency Room Treatment.
Smithfield, PA
Sweet mittens came to us as a feral cat. She was lost, and we found her meowing in our garage. It took us a while to find her, but she did not have a mother around. We took her into our home bottle, fed her bath from all the fleas took her to the vet and made her our best friend. Sweet mittens was a feral cat that showed up at our house this past fall. My parents bottle fed her and made her an inside cat she is fully vaccinated and also fixed. we thought that she had swallowed something because she was coughing. She stopped coughing and ate some food after a while. The next day she lost her sparkle in her eye, but still was eating by Friday. She was seen at met vet Mittens is an inside cat and she is fully vaccinated. Her best friend is another feral cat named lucky who we also had to bottle feed. They are the best of friends and they play together and they make each other a better cat. We just had a $14,000 vet bill from our beloved Dog that had passed and we are still working to pay that off. My parents were both retired. They are very good people and would help anybody.

Nauty
Nauty is a 12 year old Keeshond in Canonsburg, PA, who needs $5,000 for MRI.
Canonsburg, PA
Nauty was given to me March 2020 when she was 5. She became my support animal, but quickly became more to each other. I had many dogs throughout my life, loved every one of them, grieved long periods when losing them but none took my heart completely from me like Nauty. I call her Angel, she’s sweet, kind, gentle, and she’s my heart. Nauty has been a picture of health, still puppy like until middle of night, 4/23/26 she had a sudden seizure, having had 11 to date 6/23. Most happening middle of the night. She’s on antiseizure meds but they increase. After much testing the neurologist at MedVet informed me an MRI can give more accurate diagnostic and obviously more accurate meds. Nauty does love everyone, even strangers, but always lets me know I’m her person & she knows she’s mine. I need her & she is depending on me to find out why this is happening and get her the proper medication. It breaks my heart when she comes out of a seizure and looks at me as if to say what happened. I’m recently divorced, 72, unemployed, living on social security and minimal spousal support. I’ve exhausted credit cards for her care up till now. To have accurate diagnosis & meds she and I can make the most of our life together. I need her, we need each other.

Oreo
Oreo is a 2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in McKees Rocks, PA, who needs $6,000 for Cataracts.
McKees Rocks, PA
Oreo was adopted from the Pittsburgh Humane Society in April of 2024 when he was only 6 weeks old. Since the day he came home, he has been a light in everyone’s lives including my 7 year old daughter. He was named Oreo because, well, just look at him:). He’s facing a serious health issue, cataracts, that requires urgent veterinary care—tests, treatment, and surgery—to get him back to full strength. The costs are adding up quickly, and as much as we’ve tried to cover it on our own, we are falling short and really need help from anyone who can spare even a little. This surgery would be completed at MedVet in Washington, Pa My 2-year-old Pit Bull, Oreo, is an absolute bundle of joy and energy! This playful goofball has endless zoomies, loves chasing balls and toys, and never seems to run out of enthusiasm for playtime. What makes him truly special, though, is how amazingly gentle and patient he is with all the younger kids in the neighborhood. They are always coming over to play. Times are really tough right now, and like so many folks, we’re stretching every dollar just to get by. We have insurance but it will only cover a small portion of the surgery/ post and preop care. Every little bit truly helps and we are grateful for any help.

Frankie
Frankie is a 11 month old Mix-Breed in Monongahela, PA, who needs $8,000 for Extrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Extenuation.
Mckeesport, PA
Frankie’s story began with her mother, Vera, rescued from a rural fracking site in West Virginia. We weren’t even sure she was pregnant — the vet could only speculate — so we waited and watched. On the exact day we were told she’d either deliver or resume vaccines, Vera gave birth to one single kitten. It truly felt meant to be, like Vera gave her to us purposefully Frankie suffered a sudden medical crisis with severe seizures and temporary cortical blindness caused by dangerously high ammonia levels. She was diagnosed with a congenital liver shunt, an abnormal blood vessel preventing her liver from functioning properly. She requires advanced surgery at MedVet South Hills to correct it and give her a chance at a normal life. Frankie is incredibly affectionate and fearless — even best friends with our dog. She greets everyone like they’re family, and everyone who meets her falls in love. She’s our wild child, full of personality and joy. She didn’t just join our family — she completed it. I am our family’s sole income, and Frankie’s emergency care, diagnostic testing, and consultations have already cost over $6,000. Surgery is next, and any help would make a life-saving difference for her.

Chunk
Chunk is a 6 year old English Mastiff in Grove City, , who needs $2,000 for Surgical Removal of Mass and After Care.
Grove City
Chunk is our sweet, silly, loving 6 year-old English Mastiff who is the epitome of a gentle giant. I use him as a therapy dog with the special needs kids that I work with. Chunk doesn’t know a stranger ( human or animal) and he can win over even those most fearful of dogs with his gentle, loving presence. He has given so much to our family and the children at my school and now he needs help. Chunk was diagnosed with a Squamous Cell tumor which grew very quickly. It started with a small mass on his right elbow, which grew very fast into a large tumor. We took him to our local vet for biopsy, but due to his size at (187 pounds), we had to seek specialist care in Pittsburgh (Medvet) at an hour and a half away. There they did an additional X-ray of his lungs and abdominal ultrasound. Chunk is still full of life, love, & energy—he deserves a chance to keep fighting & enjoying life after how much joy he has brought to others. We can’t imagine losing him at only 6 yrs old when he still has so much life left to live. Chunk means the world to our family, our other pets, and also the children that I work with. His kind, silly spirit has enchanted the hearts of all he has encountered The medical care and surgery he needed cost $8,000 and now we are looking at post medical care with more medicine, follow up care, and possibly oncology visits. Unfortunately we live in a rural area where the veterinarians do not take pet insurance, so we never purchased it.

Finn
Finn is a 11 year old Carolina Dog in Follansbee , WV, who needs $2,000 for Adrenal Tumor Removal.
Follansbee, WV
Finn, started out being left on New Year's eve leashed to a kennel at the shelter. He was found the next morning in the snow. We had just bought our first house, had been searching Petfinder and saw this guy and his big ears. We saw his picture, in March. We named him Finn McCool since we got him on St. Paddy's weekend. He's our loving nanny dog to our 3 yr old son. We've had Finn 10 years now. Finn started having gastrointestinal issues in February and then again in April that led him to MedVets Pittsburgh at 5am. He had lots of testing for kidney health which lead to an ultrasound finding a mass on his adrenal gland, the surgeon is confident that is will be easy to remove and he's otherwise in good health. The stomach bug was a coincidence that lead to finding this mass. Finn, as I mentioned is a loving nanny dog to our son and sleeps next to his bed every night. He's been my best friend, shadow and hiking buddy for the last 10 years. He was my 60lb lap dog through pregnancy and is there whenever we need emotional support. He's the first to snuggle and wiggle his way on for hugs or settings. He has energy to spare and at 11yrs still likes to go on 7mile hikes. We've had a lot of family expenses this year (ER visits and traveling for health reasons). I'm a teacher and my husband is a laborer we get by, but budgets are a thing. Finn has always been healthy so we can't imagin losing him when we can do something. He's our boy ♡

Chester
Chester is a 5-year-old Orange Tabby Cat in Avella, PA, who needs $2,000 for Full Body Ultrasound.
Avella, PA
Chester was found as a kitten in a culvert. I was going through a tough time and my mom happened to show me a picture of me and I knew I couldn’t live without him. He’s never been away from me for more than a day since he was rescued. He’s my best friend and travel buddy. He lived with me in my dorm for the last two years of college. I had him registered as an emotional support animal. He loves meeting new people and attention. He is super cuddly and sweet towards anyone he meets. Chester’s best buddy is our dog Theo who’s a chihuahua. They’re two peas in a pod. Chester is the runt of his litter. His siblings are so much larger than him but he’s never had trouble keeping up. He has always been super small but he is feisty as can be. He’s got a wild personality! He loves string toys and hair bands!!! He can be found lounging across my bed or on the back of a couch! Chester hasn’t been eating lately. We changed his food but to no avail. He has since turned jaundice and lost a lost of weight in a very short amount of time. The vet has diagnosed him with a liver and possibly pancreatitis which he has to undergo more tests for and that costs even more than I initially would have thought. He is being treated at MedVet by a wonderful team of caring doctors. I am still trying to payback my student loans from college and graduate school. I have a job but I’m barely making enough to cover the costs of them let alone pay these thousands of dollars to help my little guy. Chester is my whole world. I couldn’t imagine life without him

Bubbies (miracle)
Bubbies (miracle) is a 8-month-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Muse, PA, who needs $500 for Exam, Bloodwork, Chest Xray, + Treatment.

Castiel
Castiel is a 6-year-old German Shepherd in Washington , PA, who needs $2,000 for Luxated Hip Surgery.
Washington, PA
Castiel is our best friend. He is a gentle giant. He lives here in a family of grandma, mom and baby Xander. Castiel came into our lives 6 years ago. He was born Dec 26, 2016. He has been with us since he was 10 weeks old. He is my savior. We got him during a very difficult time in my life and he is my emotional support dog. He is both a companion and a protector. Castiel is the best dog EVER. He absolutely loves babies. He is the best babysitter ever. All he wants is to be with the baby and take him spot on the sofa. Playing ball is his happiest time. His ball is his prized possession. The only one that can take ball..is the baby. Castiel has never been aggressive. He is vigilant, protective and alert but never aggressive. Castiel is my best friend, he gets me through the anxiety and stress of life. He is a total snuggle bug. He is so funny when he lays under the high chair during meals, just knowing the food will rain down. He hates the rain, loves shoveling snow and chasing snowballs. And going bye-bye is another favorite. But he has to sit on the right side. He won’t put his head out the left window. Castiel was struck by a truck at 5am when I let him out into our fenced yard for his morning pee. Someone opened our gate and didn’t shut it. It was horrible. I was inside with the baby when my neighbor came screaming to tell me. He witnessed the accident and chased the truck that never stopped. He suffer a hip luxation and needs surgery to repair it. It kills me to see him suffering. I am currently on a fixed income due to injury and depression/anxiety disorder. I have had brain surgery, twice. If I could work, I would work as much as possible to do what my best friend needs. But I can’t. We also have an 18 month old baby who needs his best friend.

Hunter
Hunter is a 3-year-old Boxer/Rottweiler mix in Bethel park, PA, who needs $500 for Midazolam, IV fluids, and ICU care.
Bethel park, PA
Hunter was an owner surrender to the local humane society with his 13 litter mates. His mother’s owner was overwhelmed by the large number of pups from an accidental litter, and he wound up at the humane society. My son and I were chosen as his family and we picked him up at 8 weeks old. He is my constant companion, travels everywhere with me, and my snuggle buddy at night. Hunter is the dog I have always wanted. He is wonderfully behaved, gets along with all the other dogs he encounters, and comes to work with me every day teaching horseback riding lessons in our barn. He loves to hike and run with me on local trails and when we travel. One of his favorite things is to splash in the ocean on vacation, where he of course comes with the family! Hunter loves to play with toys. He will entertain himself for hours, throwing a stuffed animal in the air and chasing after it. He also loves to hike and run, and otherwise be in the woods with me. He is the most special and gentle dog with my young son as well as all of the children that come through my barn, everyone adores him. Hunter loves to steal water bottles and crunch them. He has a tendency to try to get into the trash, usually for this purpose. Our trash can is kept in a pantry that shuts, but on 1/19 he was able to access it. He ingested some vegetable peels that had been in the trash a few days, and had molded and is at MedVet Pittsburgh receiving treatment for mold toxicity. The vets think they can save him. Hunter was my promise to myself to never go back to an abusive relationship. He is my best friend. I am a single parent, self employed, and recently missed work due to having Covid for the second time. Additionally, my work has been slow due to clients from work having Covid

Odin has an incredible personality that seems to draw everyone Odin has a positive affect on all who meet him. He sleeps in my recliner with me and is always with me when I am not working. He loves to play tug of war with a rope and fetch balls or other toys. He is alone when I work but my father loves Odin and usually spends as much time with him as he can when I’m at work. Every day when I get home from work he jumps up in a chair so I can pet and brush him Odin knows when I am not well and he does things to make me laugh and cheers me up. He is so special. He is like a gift from heaven at times. He is the best medicine I know. He loves to go for rides and watch out the window for deer or any other animals. He also loves to go to town and see his buddies Sammy, Jr, and Bones and they all love to see him as well. Loves to lay by the fire when its cold 2 weeks ago Odin lost an extreme amount of weight in short time and during the vet visit a mass was found in Odins chest. At that time I was referred to MedVet and he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Now he needs to have chemo treatments weekly and a regiment of meds to have any hope of life. The specialists at MedVet assure me that the quality of life is priority with this treatment 🙂 Unfortunately I have not worked since this came about. After X-rays bloodwork treatments and travel I am out of money and would very much appreciate any help I can get to complete Odins treatments thanks for all help and prayers God bless

Lulu
Lulu is a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever in Munhall, PA, who needs $2,000 for leg surgery.
MUNHALL, PA
Lulu is an angel sent straight from heaven. I adopted her shortly before my 17 year old Dakota passed away. We drove 3 hours to get her she is truly my angel. She is so sweet and lovable. Adores people and squeaks friendly squeaks when she sees people and goes nuts over her trashmen friends who give her treats every week. She even sings with her brother Thor She has a puppy brother Thor and a kitty brother Kneival. I am her mom and she has her human brother William. She is the sunshine on any day and brings everyone so much joy. She loves to eat and ding and play with her brothers and she is best friends with her neighbors Molly and Storm. She is an active pup and loves to chew on stuff she is not supposed too. I am single I work a full time job. I have no money saved especially for emergencies. I am exhausting all options and this was suggested by Med Vet themselves. So payments can be made straight to the account so you know your donation is going straight to the bill. Lulu was at camp over the weekend and got overly excited and fell at camp. She broke her femur just above the knee joint. Medvet in Girard Ohio took care of her and stabilized her til we could get her back to Pittsburgh where she awaits surgery. We were told she should make a full recovery especially being young and resilient. We do hope that amputation is not an option. Prayers are needed. She makes us smile everyday. I always take pics and videos of her especially her singing. Thor absolutely adored his little sister and she rules the roost. My coworkers say they all need a little Lulu to brighten their day. She truly makes me smile and my heart burst with pride. We love her so much she is truly our family.
