Lucius
Lucius is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Evansville, IN, who needs $18,000 for Surgery, IV Fluids, ICU Hospitalization.
Evansville, IN
Lucius (“Ludini Weenie”) came into my life just after high school. My manager’s purebred German Shepherd had an accidental litter with a stray, and nobody wanted the tiny runt. I brought him home at 5 weeks old, and he’s been my best friend ever since. He lives with me and his brother, Bodhi, who is currently recovering from IVDD and waiting for Lu to come home.. After suddenly suffering a seizure, Lu’s condition quickly became life-threatening. We rushed him through two veterinary teams before being referred to Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists in Louisville. He underwent emergency life-saving surgery and is now hospitalized in intensive care. He’s recovering with a feeding tube, treatment for pneumonia, and around-the-clock monitoring. Lu has been my constant companion for 8 years. We call him “Ludini Weenie” because he’s always been our little Houdini, somehow finding a way through everything. He’s goofy, gentle, and never leaves my side. He’s grown up with me through my entire adult life, and he and Bodhi have been inseparable brothers since they were puppies. We said yes to life-saving surgery knowing it was Lu’s only chance. We’ve exhausted our savings, depleted every resource available, and still face the cost of his ongoing intensive care. We can’t finish this fight without help.

Sascha
Sascha is a 6 year old Great Dane in Somerset, KY, who needs $8,000 for MRI, Surgical Repair, ER and Hospitalization.
Somerset, KY
We adopted a special needs baby in Feb 2019. At that time we had a senior boxer and a lab with hip dysplasia. As he grew they become attached to each other. When he was 18mths old we tragically lost our boxer and he was 11 yrs old. Our lab was lost without him and our son loved Scooby Doo so we adopted Sascha. We made the hard decision to put our lab down 6mths later and adopted another 1 4 him On July 11th on a family camping trip Sascha started limping and not wanting to come in and out of the camper. On July 12 she started yelping in pain when she moved. On July 13 we went to the vet and had xrays done and she was diagnosed with a bulging disc and possible IVDD. We are needint to go to Metropolitan ER Vet in Louisville KY for MRI and surgery and she is currently on strict rest. She is our 7yr old sons best friend. She has grown up being his protector and his best friend. They do everything together. She was so gentle with him thru 2 brain surgeries and never left his sight at home. She lets him play toys on or around her and just sits and watched him. Lady Charlie
Lady Charlie is a 6 year old Basset Artésien Normand in LaGrange, KY, who needs $3,726 for Right Anal Sacculectomy.
LaGrange, KY
Lady Charlie is a hilarious, perpetually hungry, and irresistibly lovable basset hound who bounced into our lives as a puppy in January 2020. She has been our resident thief from day one reaching the counters with the skill of a Great Dane and swiping everything from pizza to sticks of butter. She shares the home with two other dogs, three cats, and three humans. During a routine checkup in April, an anal sac mass was found. The vet found Lady Charlie to have hypercalcemia - a sign of AGASACA - and biopsied the mass. Once those results confirmed the diagnosis, we were sent to Metropolitan Vet for a surgical consult. The surgeon felt that with excision of the mass, Charlie's prognosis was good. Life would be boring without Lady Charlie's shenanigans! She carts shoes, socks, pillows, and small items into our backyard through her doggy door. She tore up so much of my garden that I surrendered and planted her a carrot patch, fencing off the rest. I call her aggressively affectionate because she absolutely loves everyone she meets and is not shy about wanting belly rubs or treats. Over the past year, I have reduced my work hours to assist my youngest child with a medical condition. We have kept a strict budget, but we also encountered other significant expenses. Having to not worry about this surgical bill would bring such relief to our family.

Max
Max is a 5 Year Old Mix-Breed in Paris Crossing, IN, Who Needs $2,000 for Mass or Fluid Around Lungs and Heart.
Paris crossing, IN
This is my Baby Max. I call him Baby boy. He came into my life in 2020 when someone dumped him as a baby. I brung him in with our 2 dogs. And he has been the light of my life. He is like no other cat I've ever known. In the mornings he would fly into the kitchen ready for his wet food. He would always head butt me and do fist bump when he really loves the food your giving him. Hes just mybig baby 2 weeks ago he started acting funny about eating wet. And then it progressed over Thanksgiving to not wanting to eat anything. We took him to vet and they didn't see anything wrong no temp nothing. Then the xray showed something by his lungs and heart not sure what it is fluid or mass. They gave him antiobiotic injection and a bunch of meds. He said if not better in a few days will have to go to Her favorite friends are Sassy and Charles are 2 schnazurs. He is so special head bumping and fist bumping. Never been a crazy cat just laid back and loves to sit in window and take life in. He has never bitten or hurt anyone he loves to play with my grandchildren. When they stay all night he front and center and ready to entertain them. Then sleep right with them on his back paws up. Hes the best My husband is only one working as I got hurt and it set off a bunch of disorders for me. We just dont have anymore to spend. The last vet was 700 dollars and that was hard for us there. I just want him to be healthy and have a chance for a good life. We just need him to stay

Yaya
Yaya is a 1 Year Old Miniature Schnauzer in Marengo, IN, Who Needs $7,000 for Orthopedic Surgery—Both Front Legs.
Marengo, IN
Yaya is a puppy (10 months) who came to us from a friend that has raised miniature schnauzer’s. He is normally full of energy, snuggles, and love. He’s a handsome chocolate color that loves his new kitten friend Yaya tragically fell off our friends’ staircase and attempted to catch himself, resulting in breaking his two front legs. We took him to ER care immediately, and they splinted his legs and suggested we pursue orthopedic surgery. We did so, and it cost over $7K at Metropolitan Vetinary specialists in Louisville, KY. We have paid for the surgery with CareCredit, but will require subsequent visits. Yaya loves all humans, but none quite like his mama. The fact that his mama couldn’t protect him from his fall has broken her heart. Yaya is just ready to be able to play with his kitten sister again! This was a major financial burden that we did not expect. My husband and I are both educators. We have means to make ends meet, but not a ton of extra financial means for a surgery of $7K with extra appointments

Dracarys
Dracarys is a 13 year old American Shorthair in Georgetown, KY, who needs $2,000 for Leg Fracture Repair.
Georgetown, KY
Dracarys was fostered with his whole litter and we decided to keep the big guy along with his brother aptly named Drogon. He's the smartest cat, though I'm sure most humans say that about theirs. He loves to play and never meets a stranger. I'm looking to get assistance with medical costs at Metro Vet in Louisville, KY. My father past away 3wks ago and there was no one else to take the dog. He's a TN Tree Hound with a prey drive. They are kept separate successfully until last night when Dracarys and him got into a 5 second wrestling match last night, which left him with a dislocated tibia, broken fibula and severed ligaments. I call home my Little Drakey. He loves when I go in the kitchen because he now expects a treat and won't stop talking until he gets one (or two). He's the best cuddle‐er and must be directly in my face. If I flip over he has to come around to that side every time. It makes me smile. This is a major unexpected cost for me, and I just want my boy back to feeling all better. He's so good and sweet. Please help me, if you can. We thank you so much for taking the time to read his story.

Ziggy
Ziggy is a 20 month old Chihuahua in Harrodsburg , , who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy.
Harrodsburg
I rescued Ziggy off of Facebook from a couple who were selling him to pay for drugs. He was in horrible condition. Scabbed over from flea bites and full of parasites. He has 2 doggie sisters Carlee and Peppa and 1 Kitty sister Callie. He has 1 human brother my son Cameron. Vet believes he has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). IVDD is a common cause of back pain in dogs that occurs when the spinal cord is compressed by a herniated, ruptured, bulging, or slipped disc. My Ziggy is currently paralyzed in his back legs and lower body. He will need an MRI and surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Service in Louisville KY. Ziggy is a wonderful little chihuahua mix who was always full of life. He was like a toddler, always at your heels wanting to be picked up and carried. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to feel his little paws on my leg now. Ziggy loved to chase his tail, chase his sister around the house and was just always running around. He had so much energy. He was always giving kisses as well. I am a single mom who barely makes ends meet. I currently work 10 12-hour shifts straight off 4 days then 10 more and I am still barely above water. I have gotten behind in things since my grandmother passed after a long hospice stay.

Boo
Boo is a 3 year old Russian Blue in Richmond, KY, who needs $2,000 for MRI.
Richmond, KY
Boo came into our lives as a little runt kitten from a pregnant stray. She lives with my husband and I along with our 4 other cats. She is adored by all of us, but especially by our shy calico named Reese. Reese has always been terrified of everything, but once we got Boo she really started to come out of her shell. Boo is her best friend. I don't know how Reese would live without Boo. We have been taking her to the vet for over a month once a week. They first thought she had sciatic pain and treated her accordingly. After many visits it was determined that she now needed further help from a neurologist. Her hind legs are having muscle atrophy, her tail doesn't work at all, and she is barely moving around even with constant pain meds. She requires an MRI and further tests now. Boo lives in our hearts heavily. She is quite young, but has a huge bond with my husband especially. She begs to be held by him every day and purrs so very loudly when he does. Boo is typically very lively and loves to play with her adopted siblings daily. Our oldest cat Reese is attached to her emotionally and physically. Boo helped her to become an active, social cat since we adopted her. Unfortunately my husband and I are having medical issues as well right now. I am in the middle of a major diagnostic journey for an autoimmune disease and both of our health issues have drained our accounts. She helps us and we just want to be able to help her in return

Bruce
Bruce is a 2-year-old American Akita in MOUNT WASHINGTON, KY, who needs $2,000 for Cyst Removal Surgery.
MOUNT WASHINGTON, KY
This beautiful Akita was born right in our home. He is the only male to our other male akita that we recently had to put down- he was our first baby and was 12 years old. Bruce is almost three and is so sweet! Until this situation, he was so active and pure puppy! He loved to run and was so fast! Bruce loves to eat and play with our nine year old son. He sleeps at the end of our bed or on the living room couch and loves to be any where we are! Bruce has become our therapy dog upon loosing our first Akita, Elvis. He is such a sweet, big baby! He loves to give kisses and when his legs were working, he would jump up to give the best doggy hugs! At first we noticed that Bruce's back leg looked stiff and after getting xrays and trying some meds, it started to get worse and he started to loose control of his back legs. He had trouble standing and he couldn't run. We finally had an MRI at Metropolian Veterinary and found out that he has a cyst pushing on his spine that looks to require surgery Again, Bruce is like our therapy dog because he looks so much like his late father! I would mean so much to be able to see him run again. He is so young and we don't have $5000-7000 to cover his surgery.
