Fergus
Fergus is a 4 year old French Bulldog in Clatskanie , OR, who needs $1,000 for Joint And Spine Treatment.
Clatskanie, OR
I’ve had Fergus since he was a little baby! He’s been the joy of my life. He’s the cutest frenchie out there! Super sweet! He lives with me and my family full time and is so so loved. Fergus has always been a healthy little pup! Recently he has started to hunch up and be really stiff. I believe he has a problem with his spine or his legs. He’s just acting miserable and he’s my little buddy. Everybody in my whole family loves Fergus! He gives so much love and is such a goofball. It’s terrible to see him pull his ears back and not be his fully happy self. He’s so loved around here. Being an Airforce veteran I rely so much on my fur babies. I’m an Airforce veteran on a locked income due to government caused medical issues. It’d mean the absolute world to me to have my fur baby healthy and happy again. I rely on my fur babies for support on a daily babies. They are what brings me joy.

Amber
Support Amber’s Journey From Hurt to Home
Long Beach, WA • South Pacific County Humane Society
Amber arrived at South Pacific County Humane Society in January under heartbreaking circumstances after her owner was arrested for gun-related crimes. Local law enforcement suspected abuse and brought her straight to safety. Her condition shocked everyone. Severe skin injuries suggested chemical burns and immediate intervention was needed. She was hospitalized for three days with fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication. Her condition was so fragile, she couldn’t be touched. Once stable, the team carefully trimmed her fur and began the delicate process of cleaning her wounds. Every step forward came slowly, but Amber never gave up. As she healed, Amber’s gentle nature began to shine. Calm, affectionate, and patient, she quickly became a favorite among staff and volunteers at the shelter. One kind volunteer offered to foster her and couldn’t bear to say goodbye. On May 6th, Amber’s journey came full circle with her official adoption. Amber’s emergency care cost over $2,000, a significant amount for a smaller shelter. Because law enforcement brought her directly to the South Pacific County Humane Society, they assumed full responsibility for her care. Donations will help cover her medical expenses and ensure the shelter can continue helping animals in crisis.

Duane finally found his forever!
After 800 Days, Duane Finally Found his Forever in Long Beach, WA, who needs $1,500 for Orthopedic Surgery + Post-Operative Care.
Long Beach, WA • South Pacific County Humane Society
South Pacific County Humane An adult male, Duane found his way to the South Pacific County Humane Society in Long Beach WA in March 2022, after eating someone's turkey (not the cooked kind). As a sweet goofball with a larger-than-life personality, Duane became a favorite among staff and several dog walkers. Many months into his shelter stay, it was determined he had arthritis and also needed ACL surgery. The surgery was successful. Although there was a fundraising campaign to offset the expense of the ACL surgery of $3800 that garnered $1766.00, the fundraising event did not cover the total cost of the ACL surgery. Another complication post-surgery was that the incision wasn't healing due to an antibiotic-resistant infection. Ultimately Duane had to have another surgery to remove the plate in his leg. After a strong dose of an antibiotic cocktail and several weeks with a cone, Duane was on the mend. The plate removal and the cost of the antibiotics came to $250. During his stay at the shelter, Duane had two adoption failures, failures that were not his fault. Many at the shelter had started to believe that Duane was destined to live out his days there. Even though Duane seemed content at the shelter, dog walkers believed he deserved better. Thanks to dog walker Kate and her vast network, Duane's story was widely shared. He was also promoted on a local radio station during a recent Friday radio program (he got to go to the station and sit in the radio booth during the show). Thanks to Kate's networking, a young couple from DuPont, Washington read about Duane's story. They couldn't believe such an awesome dog had been at the shelter over two years. Just before Duane's meet-and-greet with the young couple, Duane's ACL incision had opened up some due to excessive licking. The cone went back on. The young couple were not deterred by this small setback. They met Duane, cone and all, and immediately fell in love with the big-headed goofball! After over 800 days, Duane had found his family! The pictures and videos we have received from the young couple since the adoption show one big happy dog and two happy people! Today, we are turning to our amazing community in hopes of raising $1500 to cover much of the remaining cost of the ACL surgery. Every little bit helps, and receiving this DOGust grant would help immensely. Mission Our mission is to promote compassionate care, spay/neuter, and placement of cats and dogs through service and education. Our vision is the community of South Pacific County where every cat and dog has a loving home, free of abuse and neglect.

Snitch
Snitch is a 7-year-old Carolina/Cattle in Edmonds, WA, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.
Edmonds, WA
I checked the Seattle Humane website for a year and missed out on dogs I was interested in. One day, I saw a new post and drove for an hour. Upon arrival, I knew she would be adopted by 1 of the 5 families already in line. I asked for her & to my surprise, they could not find her. 3 employees later, they found her away from public view. She purred on my son's lap on the drive home. Yes-PURRED! She sleeps with me, sometimes with my son. She is a caretaker, so emotionally aware that she climbed into my lap when I received a cancer diagnosis, gently cleaning off my tears. Or nuzzles my son when he is sad or frustrated. She literally makes me go to bed when I start nodding off on the couch. She LOVES her massages. She LOVES the dog park and ONLY fetches balls from water, not land. I call her my "cat-dog". She loves the cat toys with a wand & a critter on the end of a string or toys with floppy legs that hit her in the face when she shakes it. Her prized toy is my son's stuffed Tigger. She deposits her live catches at the back door like a cat; rabbits, birds, voles, moles. She claws the bark off of trees and eats the insects. She eats like a cat too. She LOVES rabbit food. She has been my exercise partner and helped me a lot of weight. Last week, she was doing zippies with her Tigger and tore her ACL. She is fully lame using only 3 legs due to the pain. Her consult last week with Dr. Spall at Oceanside Animal Clinic in Long Beach, WA was dire. She needs TPLO surgery that we can't provide. She is only 7 years old with so much life left to live and love to give. As a teacher, I can't meet this kind of unexpected expense. She is such an important part of our family's health and emotional well-being and is truly our "soul mate" dog. She challenges me to exercise and sleep habits and is an invaluable part of my son's emotional therapy.
Josie
Josie is a 10-year-old Boxer in Ocean Park, WA, who needs $500 for a mass removal.
Ocean Park, WA
I adopted my girl Josie since she was 2 years old and now she is 10! She came from a breeder who did not want her anymore. I did not want to breed her, just thought she was beautiful and deserved a wonderful life. She has helped me with my PTSD and has been my bestest friend. She is a huge part of my life. She has congestive heart failure and kidney disease. I take very good care of her and sacrifice as much as I can for her.
