Blue

Blue is a 8-year-old Pit Bull in West Haven, CT, who needs $1,164 for Tumor Removal.

West Haven, CT

Meet Blue my 8 year old pit bull As a puppy blue had separation anxiety and did not like to be crated causing him to have several foreign body object surgeries Blue was diagnosed with stenosis this past year causing him to drag his legs as he walks Blue now requires wear booties to protect his toe nails from bleeding Blue is not a crated dog, so he is free to roam the house. At this age he naps most of the day. I have 3 nephews ages 6, 4 & 2 who adore him I live in a condo complex and blue is loved by everyone and is our mascot We celebrate all holidays with Blue especially his birthday My family and neighbors adore Blue and make each holiday and party very special Within a year of having blue, I found out he is 100% deaf Blue and I then trained together to help each other understand he needs I hired a dog trainer, as well as had continuous medical appointments and behavioral treatment Blue's face always makes me smile, especially the way he twinkles his nose Blue has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his left knee, which needs to be removed quickly before spreading I was told pit bulls are prone to tumors and others may grow This is Blue's first tumor, but if others grow, I will continue to provide for Blue the best I can I have spent well over $10,000.00 in medical bills due to past surgeries Blue is my child and means the world to me I have never asked anyone for financial help in the past but now financially I cannot provide for his medical needs Any financial help is greatly appreciated

Schultz

Schultz is a 7-year-old Miniature Schnauzer in Monroe, CT, who needs $650 for dental surgery.

Monroe, CT • Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc

Schultz came into our rescue as an owner surrender at the beginning of January 2019. His owner was dying of liver cancer, and no family member could take him. An advocate for the family took him very temporarily and thought she had an adopter for him. However, when she took him to the vet for dental care, he was diagnosed with a significant heart murmur. He could not have surgery until his medical condition was evaluated, and neither the adopter nor Schultz's advocate could commit to further evaluation. Our rescue was contacted and we agreed to take him into rescue. Our vet did bloodwork which was normal, and x-rays that showed a slight enlargement of the heart. We therefore took Schultz for an echocardiagram and evaluation with a board certified cardiologist. That evaluation showed early stage mitral valve disease, but the cardiologist happily determined that Schultz is, at this point, a good candidate for surgery. We need to get that done as soon as possible - his mouth is in awful condition and he will need 12 teeth removed.

Lucy

Lucy is 9-year-old Shar-Pei mix in Orange, CT, who needs $800 for treatment of a skin infection.

West Haven, CT

We got Lucy from the a friend who could no longer keep her when she was about 4-5 years old. Before that, she was in a shelter and came from an abusive situation. It took some time for her to adjust but she became happy as a clam with my family and I. Lucy loves my mom and her fur-brother Kyle!!! She also likes to sleep in bed with anyone that will let her!
