We found a kitten, around 5 weeks old. Stressed out and on the side of the interstate. I immediately got out and grabbed her along with searching all over for others. After we got her we realized she was hurt. We already own 2 cats and we know they will quickly warm up to her once she is healed and comfortable. We will do anything to make sure this sweet baby is okay just in need of a little help. This is an emergency, she has a laceration to her back leg which is causing her to drag and be in pain. When found she was covered in maggots and flees and she very badly needs x-rays and as the emergency vet suggested, possibly an amputation. We brought her to S.a.v.e.s emergency vet but are bringing her to Reems creek veterinary clinic this afternoon. She is absolutely beautiful and just so sweet. The second I saw her on the side of the road my heart just broke. We want so badly to keep her safe and healthy, and pain free. I am a college student along with working full time, after not being able to work during hurricane helene we have no savings. I am trying to figure out a bank loan or such since I don’t qualify for care credit. This is just such a sudden expense but it is needed for the baby

Hi, I will start by sharing the story of how my mom acquired Pearl. My 33 year old unmarried son passed away unexpectedly almost 6 years ago and owned 2 precious dogs, who were his babies. Since I already had a home filled with pets, my widowed mom took both of them in. Pearl went to the vet last week for surgery on her aural hematoma and while she was there I had the vet check her back leg because she had been limping. He took x-rays and called to tell me that unfortunately she needed surgery because of her torn ACL. (TPLO Surgery ) He said that he couldn't perform the surgery and that she would be referred to a orthopedic specialty surgeon. Cost $3500 plus Pearl is my moms constant companion and never leaves her side. They (Pearl & Bruce) are all that she talks about, and I tease her by saying that I think that she loves them more than her grandchildren. She just smiles and says...well. They provide my mom with the comfort and love that she needs to remain living alone. My mom is a senior that lives on her limited income from Social Security and barely makes ends meet. I help all that I can but I am also limited. Having Pearl healthy again means everything to us but especially to my mom. Pearl and Bruce are her reason for living.
