Ollie

Ollie is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Toledo, OH, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Toledo, OH

Hello everyone! My name is Brittany and I would like you to meet my best friend Ollie! Ollie is a 10 year old pup who came into my life after I got out of the US Navy and was dealing with some personal struggles emotionally and mentally. He's what I call a "gutter puppy" but he is my best friend and true dog that helps me with my depression and panic disorder/panic attacks. Ollie has two torn ACLs that need attention in order to ease his discomfort. As of now, the vet at West Suburban Animal Hospital in Toledo, OH has advised that each would have to be operated on at separate times. So one would have to be operated on. Given as how he still loves his walkies, this surgery would greatly benefit his quality of life keep him longer in my life. Ollie is a very sweet, gentle and obedient dog. He loves kids and is very calm and well mannered with the elderly and all who meet him. He gets along great with our cats and other dogs and is pretty mellow when meeting horses and other unique animals. Ollie loves his family very much and never turns down cuddling on the couch or bed. He's been deemed a service dog at times even though he's not. My income is not the greatest and as someone working 2 jobs, I'm just barely able to make ends meet with other expenses. I love my dog dearly and seeing him in pain bothers me. I don't really like asking for help, but I feel I have to swallow my pride and reach out. Please.

Oskar

Oskar is a 15-year-old Dachshund in Toledo, OH, who needs $651 for Canine Dental.

Toledo, OH

Oskar is my sweet 15-year old Doxie. I adopted him in 2012 after he had been surrendered to a rescue by his owner. The minute I saw his face, I knew I had to have him. He was heartworm positive, but was successfully treated and soon after he came to live with me. At the time, he joined my Border Collie, Josh and my Terrier, Peanut. When Oskar first joined our family, he was quite the stinker! He fit right in with my other two dogs, but was fairly high maintenance. He had an abundance of energy and required daily walks with his brothers. He loved getting into the trash, always searching for the elusive tissue or paper towel! Now that he is much older, he has calmed down and has become 100% delightful! Oskar is textbook Doxie! When he was younger he loved jumping on and off furniture, even jumping onto the piano bench and on top of the piano to reach a plate of cookies! He is very into routine and can tell time like no other dog! He never lets me forget about meals or having to go potty. And when it’s time for bed, he let me know with a soft whine. Oskar began having dental issues about 6 years ago. He had a routine cleaning in 2017. Since then he has had two dentals with extractions, the last being in 2022 where he had 14 teeth removed. His last appointment determined that his remaining teeth are in horrible condition and he is in need of another dental. His current vet is Dr. Morman at West Suburban Animal Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. I currently have 9 other senior dogs in my home, ranging from 10-17 years old. Because of Oskar’s age, I want him to go to the best vet with the best care. While it may be pricier than other vets, the trust I have for Dr. Morman says it all. I just want him feeling good!

Ellie

Ellie is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever in Toledo, OH, who needs $1,000 for Surgery.

Toledo, OH

Ellie was brought into our home for my son to have a "furever" friend. They have been playmates since the day she arrived. Ellie is with us along with her two fur siblings (cats) Luna and Blippi. Before Ellie's leg issue, she was attending daycare once a week. Ellie knew she was going every Friday and would wait by the door, ready to go. once she got close to daycare, she'd perk up and pull you into the facility. Since her leg issue, she is no longer able to attend. Ellie gets most of her Ellie is the poster dog for Golden Retrievers. She is an absolute lover of everyone; especially my husband. Every time he pets her, she grunts and whimpers with pure hapiness. Ellie has to be everywhere I am and has so many quirks that make her the best companion. Ellie was doing great; going to daycare, running in the yard, until one day she started to lift her leg up. She was taken to the vet who put her on strict rest for 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks, she was taken in for x-rays, which showed a luxating patella and possible hip dysplasia. She is awaiting her appointment with the orthopedic vet to see if/when surgery will be needed. Due to the ongoing affects of Covid, my husband's small business has been struggling. Along with the struggling business, I have been caring for my mom who had a kidney transplant. Our savings is no longer what it was, making it difficult to prepare for the surgery.

Lilith

Lilith is a 3-year-old Rottweiler in Swanton , OH, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

Swanton, OH

Lilith was a wedding gift from a fiancé that never made it down the aisle. Lilith has been with me coming up on 4 yrs. now. She is my world. I am a disabled veteran that didn't qualify for a service dog, but Lilith has had some training to help me with some of my harder tasks. She does a great job at detecting my migraines and helping through anxiety attacks. Lilith has full run of the house. She is the boss, and she knows it. When my boyfriend's child stays with us, she sleeps in-between our bedroom doors. She always wants to be with me but seems to have a need to watch out for the 9yr. old boy. When he has a rough night, I always find her in bed with him when I get up. They have bonded exceptionally well in a short time. They love to play fetch. Lilith has never been a vocal girl. Since my boyfriend started coming over, she has a little bit of jealousy. He walks in the door to kiss me hello. When he goes to kiss me, she starts talking to him, whining, and she talks back when he teases her about it. Occasionally she will climb into my lap and put her head on mine so he cannot kiss me. Instead, she kisses him. Last weekend we had the boyfriends 9yr. old. They were playing fetch in the yard. Lily yelped and hasn't put her foot down since. The boy feels horrible thinking that he hurt her even though we explained to him it wasn't his fault, things just happen sometimes. We went to West Suburban Animal Hospital and were told she damaged her cruciate ligament. They gave us an estimate of $3320.68. I was hit hard by fraud last yr. and haven't fully recovered. I also just paid for an eye removal for my 14yr old Pit mix. I just started catching up on my payments and have no savings left. It would mean the world to my family to have Lily healthy and pain free again.

Photo of Roxie

Roxie

Roxie is a 8-year-old Labrador/Pitbull Mix in Dearborn , MI, who needs $1,800 for Tumor Removal.

Dearborn, MI

Roxie accidentally came into my life. I was at work and a client walked in holding a puppy. I fell in love and she gave me her puppy. She has been my best friend and my child since. She lives with another kitty named Snickers and her angel brother Ginger who recently passed away from cancer as well. Please help me save my baby and not lose another child to this horrific sickness. Roxie is treated like one of the children at home. She gets home cooked meals daily, has a big fenced yard to play in and goes on daily walks. She is also my grandsons best friend and they have been super close since he was first born. My human children also spend all their time with Roxie and Snickers as they are part of the family. Roxie is one of the most loving doggies I’ve ever met. My wife did not want a dog in the house but Roxie quickly won her over with her sweetness. She is super sweet and gentle with our cat and grandson who is only 1 year old. She also has the sweetest smile and thinks she’s one of the cats at home. We removed a tumor and paid around $6,000 with the help of our daughter back when she got cancer in 2020. She has since been fine and goes in for regular checkups and ultrasounds every 3 months to make sure tumors have not evolved. We are looking to remove 3 tumors and repair her ACL surgery. This surgery is pretty costly and i am the sole provider in my house now Knowing my Roxie will get the surgery means everything to me as she is one of my children and i love her just as much as i love them. The surgery must be done as soon as possible and we are going to pay as much as we can but also need some help unfortunately
