Ferguson

Ferguson is a 14 year old Mix-Breed in Ashburn, VA, who needs $2,000 for Cancer, Pleural Effusion, and Congestive Heart Failure.

Ashburn, VA

I found Ferguson on the back porch of a friend's house in 2011. She was just a kitten. I adopted her and her two brothers. She has been my constant companion for the last 14 years. She is in a multicat household where she is the momma cat! She rules the house with an iron paw. On 2/11/25, we took Fergie to Towne Animal Clinic to see about getting a mass removed from her stomach. This mass had tested negative for cancer in April but has metastasized and spread to her lungs. She had a pleural effusion and had to have a chest tap. She had stopped eating prior to this visit but has eaten a little bit since and is on medicine for congestive heart failure as well. Ferguson is the sweetest cat. She never hisses or shows any sign of aggression. She has been a faithful companion to me for 14 years and though she gives my husband lots of side eyes she loves her spare human as well. Her favorite activity is laying on my keyboard while Im trying to work. We have been trying our best to get Fergie the help she needs but this couldn't have come at the worst time. Im a long term sub with LCPS. I had double pneumonia and a miscarriage in Sept/Oct and with all these snow days, recently, it's been rough. Lots of unpaid leave.

Cocoa

Cocoa is a 5-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Leesburg , VA, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Leesburg, VA

We had adopted a pup from Mississippi and where looking for a sister for her. Found cocoa through the same org that we got Harley and did a meet and greet. Well it was Xmas time and there turned out to be two (9&14 pds..how big could they get!)we couldn't separate them at Xmas so we opened our home to both! Well 85 & 60 pounds later we have a full family. My wife and adopted cocoa and her sister Maggie (3 total) 5 years ago and at 11 months both were diagnosed with patella luxation, well 4 surgeries later we have spent nearly 17k on legs. Well cocoa was diagnosed with an ACL tear and needs TPLO surgery at a cost of 5700, I'm a veteran and not looking for hand out but any help is appreciated. We have 3100 of the needed funds but thought I'd try here Cocoa loves walks, especially if there squirrels along the route, she never catches them but for lack of trying! And this love makes this surgery so important. She also loves running up and down our fence "talking" to the neighbors pups! They tend to come out and "ask" each other to play..it's nice for exercise but not so much for grass! As I said above, cocoa has already been through 2 extensive surgeries and is needing another. She tore her ACL and for quality of life we have to do whatever we can to help her. We suspect it's genetic because both sisters have had the same original condition (patella luxation). She's being treated by the surgeon at our local animal hospital to try and save costs where we can I'm a disabled veteran and my wife is a nurse, we struggled to pay for the previous surgeries needed for both cocoa and her sister Maggie. Four surgeries and lots of nights sleeping on the floor in the basement with them we totalled over 15k in debt.

Quinn

Quinn is a 9-year-old Flame Point Siamese in Leesburg, VA, who needs $1,000 for pancreatitis supportive care.

Leesburg, VA

Meet Quinn! Our flame Point Siamese who came to us on New Year’s Day 2013 as a kitten through SiameseRescue.org. Quinn’s crossed, icy blue eyes, gentle demeanor & caretaking nature of the other members of the “Pride” the sweetest companion. Once feral and shy, his M.O. now is to snuggle and coax as many belly rubs from his humans as possible! Quinn has 2 feline brothers and one feline sister. The Pride plays, eats, sleeps and hangs out together most of the time. Even though Quinn is the smallest in size, and 2nd oldest, he is the leader of the pack. He rounds up the others for meals and used his characteristic loud Siamese meow to make sure the humans are kept on schedule. Quinn can be found snuggling with humans or his brothers/sisters (except for now that he is sick). He also loves the window hammock where he can bird watch & he has a favorite spot high up on a shelf where he has a clear view of all of the activities in the main areas. He loves Jeopardy! And comes running at the sound of the music to watch with the humans. Until June this year, Quinn was very healthy. He was a healthy 9-10 lbs., & was a good groomer. In June, he had a broken tooth & acute osteomyelitis. He lost a lot of weight & was very sick. A few wks ago, he lost weight, developed diarrhea, coughing, lethargy & a lack of appetite. Numerous tests revealed he has pancreatitis. Prognosis is good w/ proper ongoing care. I was laid off 10/2019 following a life-threatening illness. I found work 11/19, was laid off 4/2020 due to COVID. Finally got a job 10/20 making 35% less. Had w/draw my 401k to survive & support my 2 kids. Hav maxed out credit to pay $7K + for vet bills so far. Love Quin
