Buster literally busted into our lives the day we met him at the shelter, and we knew instantly he was ours. His name came to us at the same moment—and he’s lived up to it ever since. True to his pitbull spirit, he loves people, hates closed doors, and wants access to everything. He lives with me, his “big sister” Chloe Jean, and a bird, filling our home with energy, affection, and laughter. Recently, Buster had a severe accident during a thunderstorm while home alone. In a panic, he chewed a door frame and badly damaged his front teeth. He is receiving care at Union Hill Animal Hospital under the expertise of Dr. Austin. While otherwise healthy, this is a dental emergency that requires urgent attention to prevent long-term damage or infection. Buster is pure sunshine on four legs. He’s obsessed with people and wants to be wherever you are even if that means following you into the bathroom. Like most pibbles, he’s cuddly, goofy, and endlessly curious, with “little brother” energy that keeps our home lively. Loyal, and full of heart, Buster is always ready to brighten a bad day. He’s our daily joy and constant reminder to stay present. Unexpected emergencies come at the worst times. Covering Buster’s surgery alone means choosing between his care and other urgent needs. This is Fergie. I adopted her almost one year ago from a shelter. Fergie just turned 5 but has had a very tough beginning. For the first four years of her life, she was in a hoarding situation, in a kennel, only used for breeding. When I adopted her they said she may not be very social but she loved every person and animal she meet. I don’t know who saved who. Fergie has a mast cell tumor that needs to be removed to prevent it from spreading. She has gone from my little shadow to resting. The wonderful vet services at Union Hill Animal Hospital take special care during surgery, because of their airways. Frenchies airways are much different than most other pups. Fergie is so special to me. I rescued her but she actually rescued me. She makes me laugh constantly. We have to time walks though, because Fergie loves to stop and smell every flower, unique grasses, among other things. She absolutely loves kids and car rides. She’s been in many Ubers so any car that stops where they pick up, she tries to get in every car, including KCMO police car. I need financial assistance because even though I filed taxes in 2012, the state of KS is garnishing me for 6000. I only owed 2 dollars because I barely worked in 2012 because of my cancer.

When I moved to kansas city I lived with a relative, unfortunately things didn't go well and I ended up homeless. During that time I met a great group of people most of them unfortunately are still homeless but one of them had a dog and she gave birth to a litter of pups and I knew the owner wouldn't be able to care for all of them. I've had Lexi since the day she left her mom at 6 weeks. Lexi and I are the only two who live at my apartment. She truely has become my companion/best friend in the short time that we have been together, so she actually plays a certain big role in my life and honestly i don't know what I would do without her. She unknowingly saved my life. She deserves a happy pain free life and I pray I can figure out a way for her to have that. 6 years ago I walked away from a 16 year marriage that at the end was a very abusive one. I went from having a family to having noone. I began to shut myself out, even started to think my life had no purpose. June is when Lexi came in my life, since then she has been my best friend. When I walk in from work and she is ecstatic to see me gives me a feeling that's unexplainable and irreplaceable. the vet explained to me that the way she landed and rolled she broke the leg at the section where it connects to the hip. Without the surgery she won't be able to use her leg at all and will always be in constant pain. She's being seen at union hill animal hospital by Dr.Locke in kansas city missouri. After my separation from my husband and only seeing my kids half the time, I experienced a loneliness that I never would have imagined. I'd rather be broke and without a home and have someone by my side then I would to be rich with no-one

Vaquita is a 9year old terrier mix. She was given to my as a puppy and has been with me through the ups and downs. I am everything she knows and she is like my child. We have never been separated and would give anything to keep her with me and pain free. She is currently suffering and it just breaks my heart to see her this way. Vaquita is such a good dog. Out of the three that I have she is the one that doesn't really bother too much to bark and just goes on with her day. She is very loving and though we live alone when my mom visits I can tell how her face lighta up. She loves visitors but specially my mom who sometimes dog sits them. I live alone with my three dogs and live from pay check to paycheck. Unfortunately I do not have all the money that is needed saved up. The vet is needing to be paid on the day of suregry and I don't have it all. But unfortunately while she was out in the yard she hurt her leg and then the next day the other. It happened so sudden but I could tell she was in pain as tears rolled down her face. I took her to Union Hilla animal hospital and theu confirmed she has ruptured both back legs ligamnets and needs surgery. Vaquita has a brother who is now her other half because they had babies:). They have both been with me since puppies and have a very strong bond. They are inseparable and are always following eachother. I cannot imagine ver separiting these two lovebirds. They also have a younger sister and all just love eachother. Vaquita is very caring and mature I can see her mom role play out.
