Sundae

Sundae is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Capitol Hill, WA, who needs $10,000 for Removal of Spleen + Submit for Histopathology.

Capitol Hill, WA

I first caught eyes with my dog Sundae on a craigslist ad. She looked so precious. And when I went to go see her in person she was covered in fleas at 9 weeks old. It took me 3 baths to get rid of them fully. As time went on, her puppy energy came on full display, and she blossomed into an absolute angel. I named her Sundae because of her ice-cream like colors when she was a puppy. Sundae has an 8cm mass inside her next to her bladder. Sundae has rarely ever needed to go to the vet before this. Last time she went she got all her vaccines. She has had this small mass on outside of her near her ribcage. I always thought this might be a problem in the future. But turns out there was a much more hidden mass deep inside her by her bladder. She has a hard time breathing since. Sundae is one of those pets that seems impossible to even exist, due to how sweet and affectionate she is. She gently cleans cats and puppies, She has always wanted to be a mom. Most people I introduced her to says they wanted to steal her. Sundae's love has changed me from being selfish and suicidal to being compassionate and supportive. I can barely imagine a world without her. She is my hero. Student loans and covid lockdown caused my credit to sink badly. I would gladly take 10 years off my life and give it to my dog if I could. The estimate will be around $5k to $10k. I am taking her in again for a full X-Ray+blood work 2/13. She could pass any day.

Poppy

Poppy is a 8 month old Siamese in Seattle, WA, who needs $1,200 for FIP Treatment.

Seattle, WA

We rescued Poppy with her brother from an animal sanctuary. She now lives in a home that she loves with a family of 4 who adore her and her playful brother. She had a bad eye when we brought her home, but the kids were already in love and they are so gentle and caring with her. The sanctuary said she may lose the eye and that they would pay for that. We love her and she gets lots of love. We knew she had an issue in her eye - but we were told it will go away. We went to the vet the next day and received treatment. We returned almost every week for more testing and medication. Her brother grew more than twice his size, while she stayed the same. (she is currently still 3lbs, he is 7.5lbs). She is now diagnosed with FIP and will die if she does not receive treatment. Our girl, Poppy is only 8 months and already a HUGE part of our family. She fills our conversations and our hearts. She's a cuddle bug and shows such happiness to us, even though we know she's struggling. She loves going outside on her leash and resting in the sun with us. She sleeps with my kids at night and is just beginning to gently play. She rubs her little cheeks against ours frequently. We recently moved to Seattle from NYC. Having gone through serious burnout as a public school teacher during the pandemic, I left my teaching job and started my own business. My kids are proud, I'm happier, and I'm able to work at home - but it is a financial struggle.

An Almighty

An Almighty is a 10 month old American Shorthair in Seattle , WA, who needs $2,000 for Feline Infectious Peritonitis - FIP.

Seattle, WA

An Almighty is a 10-month old shy American shorthair cat living that lived with two cat roommates at Seattle Humane Society before adoption to a forever home. Prior to being at Seattle Humane Society, he was rescued by Feisty Feline Trap-Neuter-Return. An is tested positive for feline leukemia FELV and severe disease Infectious Peritonitis FIP caused by feline coronavirus. He’s been seen, diagnosed and treated at Seattle Humane Veterinary Services and Urban Animal clinic for respiratory infections. Despite being awfully sick, An Almighty has been such a champ for not hiding in a corner or in dark small closet space. He’s remained steadfastly by going to vets visits, been given subcutaneous fluids and medicine as well as eating and drinking more when he would have appetite or a tiny bit more strength to do so. Even though An Almighty was adopted for about two months, he’s been slow and steady in his treatments and recovery. He would either go sit by window, play with toys or walk and sniff around the house or ask to be fed more. He likes to play hunting.

Beans

Beans is a 2-year-old Siberian Forest Cat in Seattle, WA, who needs $500 for Seizures.

Seattle, WA

I adopt Frank and Beans from a woman who was trying to give them away. She is a breeder and the mom cat got sick while pregnant only 2 survived. They have a mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia (wobble cat syndrome) They crack me up everyday. We currently live in income restricted housing. Beans has a little hammock by the window that he loves to sleep in. He is very adventurous, if there is a new place for him to explore he will. He will meet anyone new. His brother Frank is so scared of everything/everyone but once he sees Beans doing it he follows eventually. Beans loves his wet food, you'd think he never ate before once he hears the can crack open. Beans loves to be outside when its sunny or snowy. He is very vocal when he wants pets or when he wants food. Always talking to me. He absolutely loves chasing the laser. He is more agile than his brother so he always stops after chasing it to give his brother a chance to chase it. He is a wild, adventurous sweetheart. Beans in the past has had urinary blockage issues. He had to go to the Vet ER berceuse of a blockage. He has been having "episodes" (thats what I call them because I don't know what they are yet, I think seizures) I'm going through a rough time with money and need to get him to the vet. I'm going to be taking him to Urban Animal in Capitol Hill -Seattle,WA. I need help b/c I am currently in a apprenticeship and don't make very much money. I'm doing everything I can to make my $ last. I got Covid last month and didn't make any money during that time. Beans is so special to me and it hurts my soul I'm not being a good cat mom.

Sabriel

Sabriel is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Seattle, WA, who needs $1,700 for Surgery.

Seattle, WA

I found Sabriel at a shelter on a trip, she was very scared at first and only hid under the bed but is now very cuddly and attached!! She’s a very shy girl but has since made a lot more friends! Sabriel like laying on top of people, especially if she can drool on your face. She’s the most cuddly girl and just always wants to be near me and keep me company. She’s been very brave and has been with me all across the country. Sabriel is very goofy and has very few brain cells between the ears. I always joke that her head is full of love instead of brains. When I had a pet rat as well she was terrified of him and would keep her distance, she’s a very shy girl but has started to warm up to people so much more! My cat has a tumor which is benign but dying from bloodless. It has formed a hole that is now leaking fluid and she seems to be eating less in the past few days. She seems very tired and no longer runs the way she used to. I’m really worried about her and can’t even afford the antibiotics she needs. I have been severely disabled by my ptsd, leading to losing many jobs due to falling in sick too much and never having much money. I am now unemployed due to my disability and have help from relatives and friends but it is still far less than twice my rent so I am drowning.

Photo of Chiquis Torres

Chiquis Torres

Chiquis Torres is a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix in Seattle , WA, who needs $1,300 for Tail amputation surgery.

Seattle, WA

Chiquis was given to me by a family member who was given to her by a friend who could not take care of her. She is energetic but has always had problems with biting her tail. She is however the sweetest most playful baby. Who is really in need for some medical help that I cannot afford for the moment. Chiquis loves to be pet. She loves cuddles, she loves to play & she loved being given treats. She is a big princess who absolutely loves attention. She always comes up to hug me when I get home & has just genuinely been such a lifesaver for me personally. I have always felt so blessed to have her, even if I had nothing else, she would be more than everything I need. She is a cuddlebug/ love, play buddy, princess. She has a sweet but playful personality. She’s also such a protector. Anyone who got to spend time with her & saw who she is would fall in love. That I am more than sure of. She is just the best thing I have when I come home. She greets me & I am reminded of how fortunate I am to have her. Chiquis had an issue with her tail & began biting it. Vets provided treatment & she was getting better. After treatment had been over she began bitting it again & one day she bit half her tail off. She is now on pain medication/antibiotics & a cone on her head in need of amputation for her tail. Vet said it is the best solution for her to be okay. But I cannot afford it, but don’t want her suffer, I am making minimum wage & only have enough to pay for rent & bills & food for her & I. This amputation is not something I can afford although I know it is what’s best for her. She is my baby. And I hope to raise enough for her to finally be good again.

Garth

Garth is a 9-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier Mix in Seattle, WA, who needs $840 for Dental.

Seattle, WA

Garth is a rescue from Yuma, Arizona. He loves to travel and hike with me. Currently, we live in an apartment in the PNW. He is nine and healthy but needs some dental work and I am low-income and looking for assistance. Garth and I have been together since 2018. He was adopted out and returned twice before I adopted him. We are a perfect match. Garth is an only dog and works as my ESA/service dog (we are still sorting that). We go on a lot of walks together around the neighborhood taking pictures. Garth is food motivated and loves to go to dog parks and the dog bakery. He assists me when I need to go shopping as I get severe anxiety when leaving my apartment sometimes. I am on SSDI, so it is hard for me to get a large amount together at once. I am using the stimulus for some of the care but since the dental is an estimate and more than I have saved I need help. Garth is my best friend and I want him to get the best care. I took him to Urban Animal Clinic for an evaluation of a possible bad tooth. He does need a dental cleaning, x-rays, possible extraction but not sure till they can put him under and see. Needs to be done within six months but estimate is good for 90 days. I am waiting on his pre-anesthesia senior bloodwork to come back to make sure there are no other potential issues. Garth loves to cuddle with me on the couch and gets to sleep in the bed. He has the most expressive face especially when he moves his ears around. A couple of the local low-income clinics have even used his photo in their marketing. He loves getting an earth hide bone and is hoping to be able to go back to chewing on them soon.
