Mace

Mace was adopted when he was only two months old and has been the only dog in my life ever since. For his whole life, it has been just him and me. He is the love of my life. When Mace was 9 months old, I was out walking him in my neighborhood when he was hit by a golf cart. With this field only allowing for 400 characters, I can’t explain the whole situation, but essentially we did not realize the extent of his injuries until he started limping years later. He has a torn ligament that requires surgery, as he can no longer put weight on the leg. Mace is a calm, friendly, loving, silly boy. He loves people, but he prefers to play alone when it comes to other dogs. His favorite thing is chasing lizards and any time he comes across a large piece of wood, cinderblock, tire, or anything else that could be hiding a lizard, he will stare at it until mom flips it over to check if any are underneath. Mace recently had a $2000 surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his head. Days before the surgery, I lost my job of two years. The surgery is so expensive. To have Mace be able to walk, play, and chase lizards again would mean everything.

My husband and I were in the process of looking for a new furry friend at New Hope Shelter, Deland Florida. When my husband saw Kaylani he was instantly attracted to her fun loving personality and the cuteness. Right away he said "she's the one." I took one look at her feet and knew she was going to be a big dog and I wanted a little lap dog. Little did I know Kay was indeed a lap dog. Kaylani has had many health issues. Early on we found out that she was allergic to bees. At about two years old she began to have seasonal allergies and chronic ear infections which have cost us a lot of money. The latest health issue involves her leg and what the vet calls a CCL tear which is similar to an ACL tear in humans. What should have been a fun time of playing fetch caused her pain. Kaylani has two favorite fur siblings who were also adopted; Ladybug and Diesel. She loves to run around the yard with them and play in the pool. She had the best time hiking in North Carolina and on trials near her home in Florida. She is the cutest when sleeping as she growls and twitches her feet as if to run. She loves stuffed animals and bones and her favorite treats are veggies and fruits. We have had a few tough years with the passing of my dad, car accident that caused back issues for myself, a new home needing many repairs and a hurricane that caused damage to our home. This on top of all the other things feels like to much especially because we love Kay.

I found Gizmo 10yrs ago at a website. It was love at first sight. Gizmo is a velcro dog. He is always by my side and follows me every I go. When I go to work he misses me very much so we adopted a sister for him named Stacy. Gizmo has a lot of trauma. He was severely abused as a puppy causing his medical condition on his ear. The abuser went to prison for his actions. Gizmo has had hematomas on his ear due to abuse. His ears are now cauliflower ears. This has caused a lot of ear infections and his right ear needs surgery because the ear does not properly drain anymore. He needs an ear canal ablation. His surgery would be done at VanLue Veterinary surgical in Oviedo Florida Gizmo loves his adopted sister Stacy. He loves people and is very loyal. Everyone we meet he shows love. He has a favorite stuffed toy he takes everywhere. Gizmo enjoys car rides, walks and mud. He won't play in water but when there is mud its game on!! He dances on his back paws and wiggles his front paws to get attention and belly scratches. Eating a pup cup at Twistee Treat is his favorite. I work a fulltime low income job and it is keeping my dogs and I afloat. The surgery for Gizmo is financially not attainable. My dogs are my everything and seeing him suffer again after the abuse he went through as a pup it breaks my heart. He is in pain each day.

Bella and I have been together for over 8 years. She's more than just my ESO, she's my baby. I am in the middle of a heartbreaking divorce and she's my best friend right now. I need to get her healthy and pain free. Bella was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at about 2 years old. She has been on joint and pain supplements since. Her back legs gave out while walking on December 31 of this year. I took her to the vet and was told her hip dysplasia was worse as well as her arthritis. Her right joint was not clicking in her hip. Her leg dangles because it has nowhere to go. I need to get FHO so she's pain free Bella is extremely special. She has never met a person or animal that doesn't love her and she loves them right back. She gets really excited and starts jumping when she sees her friends. 😀 I'm disabled and going through a heartbreaking divorce. I left our house to the abuse. I'm on an extremely limited income. Bella is my ESO and my baby. I really need to help her feel better.
