Patches

Patches is a 3 year old Shih Tzu in Nazareth, PA, who needs $1,191 for Neuter.

Nazareth, PA

Patches is my grandfather’s dog. He lives with me right now since my grandfather is in a personal care home. We take Patches for visits at the PCH so that he can spend time with my grandfather, the staff, and other residents. He is a joy to everyone he visits. Patches was diagnosed with seizures. He will get aggressive before a seizure and will try to bite due to being scared. He is doing better now that he is on medications to address the seizures. To help with his aggression, we want to get him neutered. Due to seizures, we are not able to use a low-cost neutering clinic. The estimation from his doctor at VCA Northside Animal Hospital is $953. My Grandfather has dementia, and Patches seems to comfort him. He loves going on visits and being around my dogs. He loves to cuddle. He also loves being in the backyard sunbathing. He loves his weekly visits to the dog park, where he runs around with his friend. I recently lost my 19-year-old terrier due to old age. He has been such a comfort to me. The reason we are seeking help is due to able to afford the high cost of the surgery. We had no concerns with his medications and routine dog visits. My grandfather is on a fixed income. He had saving, but a family member stole his funds. We are doing the best we can.

Nicholas

Nicholas is a 10-year-old cat in Bethlehem, PA, who needs $1,737 for Mouth Surgery.

Bethlehem, PA

My cat Nicholas, his brother Justin, and sister Holly, were trapped at one of two feral colonies, that I was maintaining. They were trapped at a municipal building in Bethlehem. Although I could never socialize them, and adopt them out, they became an important part of my family. They got to grow up, and stay in my home. I got to watch Nicholas,Justin, and Holly grow up to be very beautiful cats. They became important family members, even though I could never touch them. Nicholas grew into a very large, fluffy cat, and so did his sister Holly. Justin into a large short hair. They are beautiful brown tigers. The boys sit next to each other in beds, under my dining room table. Holly sits nearby. I have dedicated my life to care for ALL animals. I became a certified veterinary technician, and worked at an animal hospital. I paid to have each animal neutered and vaccinated. I was able to adopt out over 100 cats, and 2 dogs. Due to chronic pain, I can't work. Nicholas was hypersalivating, and so came the chase, to catch him. I was successful at looking into his mouth. He had a lot of swelling in his mouth, and was painful, as he pulled back, on inspection of his mouth. I was able to have him seen right away at VCA Northside in Bethlehem. Doctor Stickler was able to examine him, without sedation. She recommended a dental with extractions. Nicholas is a joy to have in my house. He's such a good boy, and never gets himself into trouble. He enjoys rolling around in catnip with all his buddies. He enjoys sitting at the window, on a perch, watching the birds and squirrels. He enjoys trying to catch the laser light. He is so handsome, with his fluffy coat of hair. He has a white tip on his tail. I call him white tip, Nicholas
